[Sand ninja section]
the councilors had gathered once again and they listened to the explanation that was currently being given to them.
"The players call it the challenge of the mountain and anyone can take it anytime"
"From what they say a person can start it, give up and restart whenever they want"
"Other than the fact that infants and pregnant women cant participate there aren't any other rules," one of the elders says as he reads the papers given to them by the players.
"Explain to us how they measure the participant's performance," one of the elders says to his younger counterpart
"The boss or flor guardians, some people never manage to beat a single one, these are the people who either lack the skill or power to move up"
"Anyone can simply move past the floor bosses, but they won't be recognized by everyone else, even if they do beat all of the creatures along the way" the younger man answers his senior
"What do you mean?" another elder asks him
"From what the papers say, each floor boss is a battle to the death against a creature or monster that far exceeds all of the creatures on that floor or section of the mountain"
"Rare people can beat one alone, these people are the exception, not the rule"
"Everyone else has to rely on their team and it's only when they manage to kill the boss that they are recognized as having reached the next stage of power"
"As the participants travel up the mountain, they have to do random work to pay for their own expenses, hunt their own food and fight whatever creature they have to live"
"They will either get help sometimes from someone older and more powerful or no help whatsoever" the man explains to the councilors
"...I see, so that's why the players refer to those that reach the top as monsters in human form," one of the elders say
"True but if we go by the papers explanation, then this kind of training goes on for years and the only people the participants are loyal to are each other, not the village," another elder says
"You forget that they are also loyal to the mountain as they have to rely on it to live," another elder says as she looks at the papers descriving the floor bosses
"Still this kind of training is beyond brutal, no wonder they developed a method of bringing their dead back to life," she says to everyone
"That also explains why there were so few people when we came here, imagine how many people die and cant be brought back," the younger man says to his counterparts
They all begin to smile at one another, this kind of training was perfect for creating capable fighters.
"I'll begin gathering anyone that can participate r has nothing going for them at the moment," the youngest of them says before leaving the council room
"We will need to make some adjustments to the rules, after all, there should be someone capable enough to train the next generation in things such as hand seals as they go on, as well as keep them in line," the woman says to her counterparts
Seeing as her counterparts didn't argue with her, she walks out to make the petition known to the players and samurais

[Ubuyashiki Family mansion]
The smell of death and war litters this world, they had thought that they could live in this world in peace.
At first, it seemed like a blessing, the players all looked like people who had seen horrible things just like them and didn't want to see those things happen to anyone else.
The fact that they took in both the sand people and the wave of refugees made that abundantly clear, the players wanted nothing to do with war and were trying to make peace happen.
That is only wishful thinking, unfortunately, eyes have turned to look at their island\ mountain and seeing an uncorrupted piece of land they deemed them too weak to defend it and keep it.
As demon slayers, it's their job to kill monsters and even if they allow the monsters in the mountain to remain, it's only because they are creatures that people eat, or in the case of the undead, places that have people that need to be properly buried.
Still, this is a new world and they needed to learn new tricks, it will take time but they need to pass their breathing techniques onto the next generation and that means sending lower ranks and elders to train those going up the mountain.
Only those deemed worthy would be given invitations to the mansions of one or all of the Hashira to train in the more complex methods they kept for themselves.
Regardless of any of this, war was coming and there is the chance that if just one of them dies, the secrets of their breathing techniques die with them, so they are running against the clock.
In all honesty, they could strick first, get one of the scouts to talk, and attack its masters.
The problem is that rats lie when they are caught and the same rat could get the to attack someone completely innocent and then they would have to fight not just one unknown enemy but two.
So unfortunately for everyone they had no choice but to accept that the enemy would have to attack first.
