Elena's POV (Opening thoughts)
Okay. My boyfriend is going to be training to fight a whole arms of new vampires, my sisters boyfriend and my ex want to help and so does his family. All to protect me. It does not make me happy and if these newborns are so viscous and evil... do I want to become one.
*Elena Swan in Eclipse*
As I am having breakfast Edward is sat across from me.
"You know this is crazy right," I tell him as I chew on my cereal. "Once again people are willing to put their lives at risk... for me. I'm not worth all this trouble."
He takes my hand. "You are to me!"
"And me," my twin says as she enters the room but leans against the door. "I know we've had our differences but I cannot bear to lose you... and I need a favor."
She says the last part to Edward and he looks up.
"What kind of favor?" He asks kindly.
"Jake is coming to this meeting with the wolves and he doesn't want me to come alone," she tells me and she looks genuinely hopeful. "I don't want to be left behind either... would you please let me ride with you two?"
Edward smiles at her. "Of course you can Bella. I'm taking a big truck and it's got more than enough room."
She smiles back and I can see a small... very small friendship building.

We are driving through muddy terrain to an area near mine and Edward's meadow. We arrive at the place to see all the Cullen's there in clothes that are useful for fighting.
We park the truck and once I get out I hold the door open for Bella to climb out right after me.
Edward comes round and he is on one side of me with Bella on the other. As Edward grabs my hand he feels the bracelet that Damon got me on my wrist. He twists my wrist gently to see the wolf.
"It's a graduation present," I tell him.
Bella holds out her own wrist with a matching bracelet and I smile at her.
Everyone turns as the pack enters, looking alert and ready. Most of them are probably thinking that this is a trap.
"They don't trust us enough to be in human form," Edward says reading Sam's thoughts.
I glance at Carlisle who continues to look at them. "They came. That's what matters. Will you translate?"
Bella, still feeling awkward stares at the wolf form of her boyfriend and smiles. Damon turns to look at me.
"Hey D," I say gently to him.
Carlisle moves forward but respects the space of the wolves as Alice comes to my side and smiles at me. She then smiles kindly at Bella who gives her a small one in return.
"Welcome," Carlisle says as the wolves instinctively hunch their shoulders and bunch their teeth. "Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them."
Sam sends a look Edward's way as he shares his thoughts with him.
"They want to know how the newborns differ from us," Edward tells Carlisle.
"They're a great deal stronger than us," Carlisle explains and Bella and I also listen to this new bit of information. "Because they're own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful, than in our first several months of this life."
He stops and turns to look at Jasper who steps forward and looks around at the wolves as he speaks. "Carlisle's right. That's why they are created. A newborn army, doesn't need thousand like a human army. But no human army could stand against them. Now the two most important things to remember are, first: Never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. And second: never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that... and you will lose. EMMETT!" He turns and walks towards Emmett and they prepare to fight. "Don't hold back!"
"Not in my nature," Emmett smirks at him.
We have all turned to watch as Jasper and Emmett prepare to fight.
Emmett runs at Jasper who just stands there. Emmett hits him and the two scrape across the ground. Emmett turns and flips Jasper into the air. Jasper turns and begins running back towards Emmett who runs to meet him. Emmett goes to punch him, but Jasper ducks and turns before grabbing Emmetts shoulder and yanking him to the ground.
"Never lose focus!" Jasper tells Emmett as he stands over him.
Edward and Carlisle turn to train together. Carlisle nods and Edward begins to run at him, and he runs towards Edward. Carlisle slides under Edward as Edward jumps, when stop they turn and run at each other and their hands connect for them to grapple. They begin to spar some more until Edward slams Carlisle to the ground and looks up at Jasper.
"One more thing," Jasper says to him just before Carlisle trips him. "Never turn your back on your enemy."
It's Rosalie's job to spar with Jasper who makes a motion for her to come at him. When shes close enough he nods and she swings at him twice which he ducks under both of. He then sends her spinning with one push and she stares up at him when she lands.
Now it's Alice's turn. Jasper goes to grab her but she dodges. He goes again and she ducks under his arm before turning. Then they both move at each other and as he goes to grab her she cartwheels so they both are now on the opposite side where the other one stood a second ago. Jasper wipes the hair out of his face but Alice keeps a passive express. After him getting more closer and a little more dodging Jasper suddenly has her by the shoulders. He goes to kiss her, to distract her but she throws his hand away and then disappears. Next thing you know she has jumped onto his shoulders and kissed his cheek, making him smirk.
I hear Bella speaking to Jake who has come up to her and Damon is next to him.
"Some of you are gonna get hurt," she tells them and I begin to walk over to the three. "Some of you could get killed..."
She seems unable to finish so I come over.
"She's right," I tell them smiling at Bella but its only a half smile as I approach. "Because of me."
"That's not what I meant," Bella says as I stroke Damon's side and he looks like he is enjoying it. "I meant no matter the reason that this army is coming someone could die."
I sigh. Easy for her to say.
"It's gonna be 100 times worse than this right?" Bella asks all of us.
"That's putting it lightly," I whisper back as we continue to watch the training.
Jake leans his head down and she strokes him like you would a dog. I continue to stroke Jake's side. Both make noises of content. Jake turns to look and Damon stares as Edward approaches. Both wolves growl slightly before beginning to walk off.
"Done for the day," Edward tells me.
I look at Bella. "Want a ride again?"
She nods and turns to Edward.
"If you don't mind?" She says smiling politely.
He shakes his head. "Of course not."
As Jake and Damon head off they look back at us with a sad look.

Later I am sat talking with Bella, I am on the truck, as Edward talks some more with the others. Then Jasper approaches us and I decide to speak up.
"Jasper?" I say quietly and he turns to look at me and he glances at Bella, probably observing her feelings. "Are you sure there's nothing I can do to help?"
He smirks as he answers my question. "Your presence alone, your scent, will distract the newborns. Their hunting instincts will take over and drive 'em crazy. And with your twin for support there hunger will be worse."
"Good," I nod at her. "We're glad," he nods but as he walks away I think of something else I wanted to ask and when I call out he turns back to me. "Hey. How do you know so much about this?"
He sighs.
"I didn't have quite the same upbringing as my... adopted siblings," he tells me before pulling up his sleeves and showing us his arms.
Bella gasps and I stare down as we both jump down and stare at the scars similar to the one below my wrist, but Jasper has thousands, all running up and down his arm. Bella gently grabs my wrist and moves the bracelet to look at the copy of the scars.
"Those bites are like mine," I points out.
"Battle scars," he explains to both Bella and I. "All the training the confederate army gave me... was useless against the newborns. But still... I never lost a fight."
He begins to walk off, I glance at Bella and we both follow him, her keeping her distance a bit more than me.
"Hey!" I call out to him so he slows down. "This happened during the civil war?"
He smirks as he answers. "I was the youngest major in the texas county. All without seeing any real battle."
"Until...?" Bella asks kindly.
He loses his smirk as he begins to tell us his story. "Till I met a certain Immortal... Maria. I was riding back to Galveston after evacuating a column of women and children. When I saw them. I immediately offered them my aid. There were three and it was kind of odd that three women were alone in the dark during the civil war. There were two brown haired women and one blond. As I got closer I climbed off of my horse and bowed like a proper gentlemen, down on one knee. The brown haired one spoke to me first after a little whispering. She asked for my name which I gave. She then spoke of how she hope I survive as I would be a great use for her... then... she turned me."
"Maria was creating an army?" I ask as he pauses and I am leaning down with Bella stood cautiosly beside me.
"They were very common in the south," he explains before continuing with the story. "There were constant brutal battles for territory. Maria won em all. She was smart... careful and she had me. She had me training her newborns. I was her second in command. My ability to control newborns served her well. Not that I needed it. The newborns feared me anyway. I trained her newborns. An endless occupation since she never let them live beyond their first year. It was my job to dispose of them and over the years there were only two people who lived. Now friends of mine Peter and his girl Charlotte. I had made friends with them before that and when the time came I couldn't do it. But everyone else.. I could feel everything they felt. I thought what Maria and I had was love like what Peter and Charlotte had. But I was her puppet. She pulled the strings. I didn't know there was another way... till I found Alice. She'd seen me coming of course."
"You kept me waiting long enough," Alice's voice says as she appears at Jaspers side and she stares into his eyes with a playful glare.
Jasper scoffs and speaks in a proper southern accent with a smile for his love. "My apologies mam. I don't know what I'd have become without her."
"Shh," Alice calms him as I smile at how much they love each other. "You never have to be that again."
They kiss and I glance at Bella. "Maybe we should leave these two alone. I'm sure Edward's ready to go now."
She nods and we take off.

(DREAM:)
I am in the middle of an unrecognisable place, near an ocean but not La Push. Across from me is Jasper but there's one difference from his usual self. The red eyes.
Behind him is an unfamiliar woman speaking spanish. But then it's someone else. Unlike the black hair the woman had before she now has red hair. But the blood red eyes are the same. The line that both whisper softly over and over again to Jasper is the same as well. Just one in Spanish, the other in English.
In English, Victoria is saying. "Jasper, I want you to do something for me. Kill her!"
Even though I only understood the English that Victoria spoke, clearly Jasper understood both as he moves slowly towards me- then snaps a strike-

I flinch as I wake. Oh thank god it was a dream... but something tells me that part of it was real.
Edward who as usual was watching me speak, frowns as he spots my flinch while staring down at me.
"What is it?" He asks.
I glance up at him as I begin to sit up.
"The intruder," I begin as I start to put all the pieces together. "The newborn army. They're all her puppets." He shakes his head in confusion. "Victoria!"
He shakes his head clearly not agreeing with me. "Aice would have seen if she wanted to make an army."
"Unless she's hiding behind them," I state what is more likely. "And she's letting someone else decide."
He looks down as he begins to think about this.

I always thought it was silly how Peter and Charlotte (Big reasons Jasper left the newborn army) were never seen or mentioned in films until breaking dawn part 2, but was in the books so I mentioned them. Anyway trying to finish this week.
