Kanto Part 11
Ash and Alice are now at the Celadon City's Gym, they know that it is a grass type. Before they enter, they see a man looking at the window and he mutters, "Haha! This Gym is great! It's full of strong trainers!"
Ash and Alice look at the man weirdly, and then Ash turns to Alice and says, "I think that man is a pervert. We should leave him alone."
"I agree." Alice says. In the gym, they see that the gym is made of a gardens with beautiful girls as the Gym trainers. And the guide is actually a lass this time as she says, "Oooh...So you want to challenge Erika, the Gym Leader?"
"I am." Ash says as Pikachu nods in agreement, but the girl is squealing at the sight of the Pikachu, "It's super cute! Can I pet it? Just a bit? Please?"
"Sure?" Ash says as the girl pets the Pokemon, and then Pikachu is getting a little uncomfortable with the constant hugging, the girl says, "Fine, then! I guess I have to let you into the Celadon City Gym, seeing as you brought a cute Pokemon at all."
After the girl leaves, Ash says, "Well, that is weird."
Alice says, "I think I had to agree with you this time."
After walking for a while, the lass, who is named Kay, decides to battler her with her Oddish. Ash sends out his Ninetales to battle, and in the end, Ninetales is able to use Confuse Ray to confuse Oddish and eventually defeat it with the Flamethrower with the help of Drought ability.
"You're too rough..." The girl mutters as Ash and Alice move forward in the maze, they are stopped by the trees and it is a good thing that they have the HM for Cut to cut those trees down.
The second trainer they find is a Beauty named Mai. "Oh, welcome. I was getting bored." Then she sends out Exeggcute, this time Ash uses Pidgeotto to defeat it with ease with the Gust.
"Just give me a break." The beauty says as Ash and Alice go past them. Alice says, "Is it just me, or I think there are a lot of gym trainers in this gym."
"I know, and all of them are girls." Ash says. "But they aren't my type after all."
"And which one is your type?" Alice feels a little curious of it. Ash says, "I am not telling you yet."
"Fine." Alice pouts as they find the third trainer, a Picnicker named Tina. "...Were you the one peeking in here?"
Ash says, "No, the one is still at the window." But they have a battle anyways as the girl sends out Gloom, Ash uses Butterfree this time and with the help of Sleep Powder and the Bug Buzz, Gloom is defeated. "I don't want to see myself lose..."
The next one is beauty named Tamia, she says, "Just look at my Pokemon, I like the Grass Type, I like how they're easy to raise." Then she sends out Oddish, which is defeated by Nidoking's Poison Jab, and the same goes to her Weepinbell.
The fifth trainer is a beauty named Lori, "So what is your hobby?"
"I like Pokemon battles, right?" Ash asks Alice and she also nods, then they have a battle with her sending out a Gloom, and Golbat is the one that defeats it with the Air Slash. And then the next one is an Ace Trainer named Mary. "Welcome to the Celadon City Gym! You'd better not underestimate the nice ladies here."
"Well they do get us a lot of trouble." Alice says. She sends out Weepinbell, which is defeated by Flareon's Fire Fang, and the same thing goes to her Tangela.
As for the final one, it is a lass named Lina, she says, "You know, we don't like Bug-or Fire-Type Pokemon in here." Then she sends out three Bellsprouts, but all of them are defeated by Ash's Gyarados, who has learned Flamethrower from the TM they purchased in the store.
"Finally, we defeated all the Gym Trainers." Ash mutters as Alice smiles at him, "Well done, so Ash, can you tell us which girl is your type?"
"Why are you so keen to know? I am not saying it, it is embarrassing." Ash says. Alice vows, "One day I will have you tell me the truth."
Ash sighs as they face Erika, the Gym Leader. "Hello. Lovely weather isn't it? It's so pleasant..."
Just then, she starts to close her eyes. Ash says, "Um? Are you awake? Miss Erika?"
Just then, she gets up and says, "Oh dear... I must have dozed off. Welcome. My name is Erika. I am the Leader of Celadon Gym. I teach the art of flower arranging. My Pokémon are of the grass-type. Oh, I'm sorry, I had no idea that you wished to challenge me. Very well, but I shall not lose."
As they are standing at the sides of the battlefield, Erika says, "Here is my first Pokemon, Tangela."
Ash said, "Okay, Vileplume, I chose you!"
When the two Pokemon appear, the battle starts. Tangela starts up with Growth to raise attacks, then it uses Vine Whip on Vileplume. Vileplume dodges and used Sunny Day, then uses Solar Beam. Tangela is hit, but it is not very effective. It then uses Leech Seed on Vileplume, starting to drain his energy, Vileplume used Poison Powder on Tangela, causing him to get poisoned, then followed by a super effective Venoshock, which caught Tangela off guard and fainted.
"You are very good, Ash. Here is my second Pokemon, Victreebel!" Erika says as she sends out her second Pokemon. Victreebel shot a Weather ball and hurt Vileplume badly, then it fainted due to the Leech Seed.
"You did a great job, take a good rest." Ash says as he recalls his Pokemon.
Ash uses Charmeleon next, Victreebel starts off with Toxic, which poisons Charmeleon, but Charmeleon uses Scratch and damages it, then Victreebel tries to use Infestation to wrap Charmeleon, but it makes a mistake since Charmeleon uses Flamethrower and hurts it, followed by a Dragon Rage to make Victreebel faint.
"You raised your Charmeleon well, but here is my final Pokemon. Vileplume."
As the Pokemon appears, Ash says, "It is a good thing I had one, this should be easy."
But things aren't going well as Vileplume uses Sleep Powder to make Charmeleon asleep, then follows by a Petal Blizzard and Sludge Bomb to make it faint.
"Butterfree, I choose you." Ash sends out his final Pokemon. Then Butterfree starts with Silver Wind and hurts Vileplume, Vileplume tries to put her to sleep using Sleep Powder, but fails due to Safeguard. Then Vileplume uses Sludge Bomb, Butterfree flies high to dodge it, then it uses Confusion to give Vileplume much damage. Erika is frustrated that she can't use static effects, she tells Vileplume to use Solar Beam, but Butterfree blocks it with Air Slash, then it uses Quiver Dance to make Vileplume confused, then finishes it off with another Silver Wind.
"Oh! I concede defeat. You are remarkably strong. I must confer you the Rainbow Badge." Ash takes the badge, which is full of Rainbow colors, and thanks her, Alice also comes to Ash and says, "Congratulations Ash. You got your fourth badge."
"I know." Ash says, Erika notices Alice and says, "Say, you there. You look really beautiful, do you want to learn the flower arranging with us?"
"Well, I want to travel with Ash so I can catch a lot of Pokemon and also fill in the Pokedex." Alice says.
"You are cataloging Pokémon? I must say I'm impressed. I would never collect Pokémon if they were unattractive." Erika says, after that, they bid farewell as they leave the Gym.
After that, they go into the Pokemon Game Corner. Ash says, "You know, we haven't find that Cubone who was taken by Team Rocket yet."
"You're right. I think this is the only place left that we haven't found yet." Alice says as they enter the place.
While looking around, they also noticed the disguised Team Rocket members Jessie and James are playing games, but Ash recognizes them and they decide to hide and listen, "There! Come on! Almost got it... Aaah, so close!"
Ash whispers to Alice, "Are they seriously playing the games now?"
"They could be." Alice replies.
"C'mon, Jessie, why don't we head to the hideout now?" James says.
Jessie turns around and glares at him, "Oh come on, we've already handed over the Cubone to another Team Rocket member. What's the harm in taking a little break? How were we supposed to open the hidden entrance to the hideout, anyway?"
James says, "We just need to check the poster with a vehicle on it, remember? It's a poster with a vehicle that's the best way to represent us!"
"What do you mean? What kind of vehicle is the best way to represent us?"
"You know, those things that blast off into space?"
"Or we won't be called Team Rocket for a reason." Meowth adds.
Ash and Alice decide to go to the counter, and they notice a Pokemon being held hostage. "Is that a Porygon?" Ash says.
"But how is he being held there..." Alice says with a frown. The staff member asks, "Oh? You want that Porygon? You will have to pay 9999 Poke Coins for it."
"9999? Ash, how many do we have here?" Alice asks Ash, who opens his coin case and he widens his eyes, "How is that possible? There are a lot..."
"But we didn't play any games here..." Alice says, "Could it be from the Satoshi Tajiri himself?"
"That is amazing..." Ash says as he pays the money so they can get the Porygon.
Kanto Dex Entry No.137 Porygon: The Virtual Pokemon: Normal Type. A Pokémon that consists entirely of programming code. Capable of moving freely in cyberspace.
As they arrive at the poster, they see a Rocket Grunt standing there and he says, "I am guarding this poster, go away, or else!"
"What if we don't?" Ash asks, and then he sends out Raticate. Ash sends out Mankey to battle and Mankey uses the Karate Chop to defeat the Pokemon with ease.
The grunt is surprised at the defeated and he yells, "Oh no. At this rate, the location of the Team Rocket Hideout is gonna be discovered! I've better tell the boss!"
As the grunt leaves, Ash says, "Did he seriously just reveal the location to us?"
"Well, we just need to push the switch, right?" Alice says as she tears the poster, revealing the switch. She presses it and then the building shakes for a second before they notice a door opened besides the counter, not only that, all the people inside the building are gone, much to their surprise.
"Does that mean all the people that were here are actually spies sent by Team Rocket?" Ash asks.
"It could be, but this will be our chance to stop them once and for all." Alice says as they look at the door, they take a breath before entering it.
Here is another new chapter, and I am sorry that I won't be writing the battle against Giovanni in this chapter, as the Celadon Gym sure has a lot of trainers to battle. I hope you like it and the next one will be the conclusion of the Rocket Hideout.
