Back in the Oasis, It was like just another day for Flynn and Gobber.
They were both walking back from the watering hole after taking a steaming bath. Hiccup wasn't with them because he had flown off to the outposts of Corona to 'borrow' some supplies that they needed.
Meanwhile, Flynn and Gobber we're jamming acapella to 'the lion sleeps tonight'.
Flynn lead on as Gobber provided the backing vocals. "In the jungle , the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight. In the the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight!"
Gobber had been singing background until now, when he spotted a Snow Wraith flying over the canopy. He silently walked away from Flynn, following the dragon as it was one of the most rarely seen dragons.
Flynn had no idea that his friend was missing. "I can't hear ya, buddy. Back me up. Aweeeeeeeweaeaeeee-a-pumbapumbaweee!" Flynn howled before he turned around to realize that his friend was missing. "Gobber? Where are ya, man?"
Gobber was silently stalking the Snow Wraith as it landed next to the watering hole and was gulping the steaming water.
As he inched closer and closer, an arrow shot straight past his nose and nearly cut him. He gasped and turned to see a blonde woman, who seemed to be around twenty years of age, standing, poised with an arrow targeted at Gobber on her bow, gazing furiously at him.
"WHO ARE YOU AND WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME!? Did Drago send you?" The woman asks as Gobber stammered in fear, as the Snow Wraith, which he realized was the woman's started advancing at him.
Gobber turned tail and bolted back, as fast as he could. He leapt over tree stumps and hedges and could hear the sound of the woman riding on the Snow Wraith, gaining on him. He then turned a corner and collided into Flynn.
Flynn rubbed his head and looked at his friend, who had a terrified look on his face. "Gobber, what are you-"
"SHE'S GONNA KILL ME!" Gobber screamed at Flynn.
Flynn stood up and stared behind Gobber. His eyes widened in fear as he saw the woman, her bow drawn up, riding on her Snow Wraith at lightning fast speed.
Flynn hauled his friend up and yelled at him as they ran into a trench to hid in it. "How on earth do you somehow meet such crazy women, Gobber!? Charm is not your strong point! Why do I always gotta tell ya this?!"
They dived in and Flynn peeked out over the edge of the trench. He screamed in fear as he saw the woman a few feet away, still on her dragon, taking aim at them.
Then, as they shivered in fear, a high pitched screeching noise was herd through the forest, coming from the skies. A few seconds later, the Snow Wraith was thrown off balance as it was tackled, doing its best to protect its rider as a purple plasma blast from a Nigh Fury smashed into the Snow Wraith.
Hiccup and Toothless flew over Flynn and Gobber's head a second later. He jumped off of Toothless's back and charged at the woman as Toothless engaged itself in battle with the Snow Wraith.
Hiccup drew out his fire sword and began attacking the woman and they both went at each other fiercely for a few seconds.
Sighing in relief, Flynn clambered out of the trench as he watched the fight continue. "Look at 'im go! I told you keeping him around would come in handy someday." He then turned back to Hiccup and the woman. "Yeah, come on! Cut her head off! Make daddy proud!"
Hiccup bellowed his war cry, which now sounded fierce after years of perfecting it, as the woman did her version of it. He disarmed her sword, only for her to use her bow to grab his sword out of his hand. He then lurched at her, just as she was about to reach for her bow.
They rolled on the ground and Hiccup was finally pinned to the ground after the duel. The woman drew out her bow and pointed it at Hiccup, panting in exhaustion of the fight. "Move a muscle and it'll be the last thing you do!"
Hiccup's eyes widened as he gazed at her in shock as to who seeing her face. She had been wearing her face mask over her nose and mouth so far during the fight and it had only just been ripped off due to their duel and Hiccup noticed how similar she is to someone he once knew. He squinted his eyes to look at her as his eyes widened in surprise as it met with her sky blue ones.
"Elsa?" Hiccup asked in shock and surprise.
The woman looked at him with a confused look on her face. "D-Do I know you?" She asked, without relaxing her aim.
Hiccup just asked her again. "I-is it really you?"
Elsa felt slightly bewildered as she relaxed her bow and got off Hiccup, allowing him to get up. She moved a few feet away and slid the arrow back into it's container. She squinted her eyes at him suspiciously as she asked him. "Who are you?"
Hiccup stared at her eagerly as he was sure that this was Elsa now. "It's me...Hiccup..."
Elsa looked at him suspiciously, repeating it. "Hiccup...?"
He grinned at her and nodded as she observed him for a second before her eyes widened in happiness as she recognized him.
"WHOA!" They both exclaimed together and hugged each other tightly.
Hiccup missed his childhood friend so much. "Where did you come from!? What are you doing here?" He asked her excitedly.
"Whoa! What do you mean what am I doing here, what are you doing here!? You look different! And it's a good different!" Elsa says as Hiccup laughed with her and said
"You too. You've grown so much from the last time I saw you!"
Their reunion was cut short by Flynn who came up and interrupted them. "HANG ON JUST A MINUTE!"
Hiccup looked at him and realized that he hadn't introduced his two best friends to his childhood best friend. "Oh! Elsa, this is Flynn. Flynn, this is Elsa, she's my best friend!"
Elsa smiled at Flynn as he looked at her, confused by this sudden exchange of pleasantries. "Friend?"
Hiccup looked around at Gobber, who was still hiding in the trench. "Hey, Gobber! Come over here! This is Gobber, Gobber this is Elsa."
Gobber gave her a friendly bow. "Pleased to make yer acquaintance."
Elsa grinned at him with a smile. "Likewise."
Flynn waved his arms around and walked in between Hiccup and Elsa. "HOLD ON! TIME OUT!" He glanced at Hiccup and Elsa. "You know her. She knows you. But she wants to kill him...and everybody's okay with this? DID I MISS SOMETHING!?" He yelled at Hiccup and began panting in anger.
Hiccup chuckled and patted Flynn's shoulder. "Hey, relax, Flynn."
Elsa cut across him and faced Hiccup. "Wait till everyone finds out that you've been here all this time..." Hiccup looked at Elsa, growing more and more anxious by what she was saying. "...and your mother...what will she think?"
Hiccup looked at the ground at what she said. "She doesn't have to know...nobody has to know..." he knew he could never go back. That was the one thing he was certain of.
Elsa didn't pick up on his vibe as she cheerfully continued. "Of course you do...everyone thinks you're dead!"
Hiccup looked at her, slightly surprised. "Th-they do?"
Elsa's face fell in sadness as she looked at him. "Yeah. Drago told us about the stampede...and how Skullcrusher turned on Stoick."
Hiccup looked at her apprehensively. "He did? Wha-what else did he tell you?"
Elsa wiped away a single tear at the memory. "He told us about how they both lost you in the stampede and Stoick tried his best to track you down..."
Hiccup let out a silent sigh of relief. At least his uncle had kept his promise of not telling everyone what had actually transpired that day.
Elsa then brightened up as she smiled at him as she continued. "But it doesn't matter anymore. You're alive." Her eyes widened as something dawned on her. "...and that means...you're the king!" She gasped happily.
Flynn raised an eyebrow at her, his elbow on Hiccup's shoulder. "King? Pfft! Hah! Lady, have you got your brains twisted."
Gobber, however reacted differently. "King? Your majesty!" He bowed down onto one knee next to Hiccup and took of his helmet in respect. "I gravel at yer feet."
And with that he grasped Hiccup's hand and began kissing it. Disgusted, and feeling awkward, Hiccup moved his hand out of Gobber's reach.
"Stop that." Hiccup said.
Flynn chuckled. "Gobber...Please. Firstly- it's grovel ? not gravel. And secondly- HE'S not the king...are ya?" He added suspiciously at Hiccup.
Hiccup shook his head. "No..."
"Hiccup!?" Elsa put her hands on her hips.
He felt his temperature rising as he argued with her and stepped back. "No, I'm not the king...I mean, I was gonna be...but that was a long time ago."
Elsa looked at him, slightly hurt as Flynn's eyes widened in disbelief. "Hang on! You mean to tell me, you're the king? And you never told us?"
Hiccup, who had begun to try and drag Toothless away from playing with Elsa's Snow Wraith, gave up and raised an eyebrow at Flynn. "Look, I'm still the same guy. Nothing's changed."
Flynn raised his fist above his shoulder. "Yeah. But now you've got the power!"
"Could you guys excuse us for at few minutes?" Elsa asks as she smiled at Flynn.
Flynn looked at her with an unapologetic look and put his arm around Hiccup's shoulders. "Look, lady, whatever you gotta say, you can see to all of us, right, Hic?" He didn't hear any sound of agreement from Hiccup and glanced at him.
Hiccup was blushing slightly as he raised and eyebrow and muttered. "Well...maybe you better go..."
The second he said that, Flynn let go of him and looked at him in disbelief as he helped Gobber to his feet and shook his head disapprovingly.
"And it starts...ya think ya know a guy." And with that, they both vanished from view.
Hiccup shook his head playfully at Toothless as the dragon gave him a toothless smile. "Uhhh...Flynn and Gobber...you'll learn to love em..."
He glanced at Elsa and his smile fell as he saw her slowly walking away, her head bent in sadness. He felt an urge to comfort her and he didn't know what it was.
"Elsa, what is it?"
She looked at him sadly and sighed. "It's like you're back from the dead...you don't know how much this will mean to everyone." He realized that she was on the verge of tears. She wiped her tears and looked at the ground again. "What it means to me..."
Blizzard tried to follow Elsa but Toothless stuck out his tail and shook his head and it not to follow them.
Hiccup smiled at her as he consoled her." Hey...It's okay..." What she did next caught him completely off guard as she hugged him tightly and laid her head on his chest, shifting it up and down like someone would do on a pillow.
"I've really missed you..." she whispered. His eyes widened in surprise as he didn't know what to do first.
Then he just closed his eyes and let his body do the work as he stopped resisting. He hugged her back and put his cheek on her head as they stood there.
"I missed you too..." Hiccup whispered back as she smiled.
"Pfft!" Flynn whispered his disapproval as he and Gobber hid behind a bush and spied on their buddy and the woman. "I tell ya, Gobber, this stinks!"
Gobber looked at him apologetically. "Oh...sorry..."
Flynn raised an eyebrow at him. "Not you! Them!" They watched as Hiccup and Elsa walked out of sight, her head on his shoulder and holding hands. The two dragons decided to shoot skyward to leave their riders alone for some time. "Him! Her! Alone..." Flynn continued, now standing up.
Gobber scratched his head. "What's wrong with that?"
Flynn crossed his arms and walked out of their hiding place, Gobber following him. "I can see what's happening!"
Gobber hobbled along, confused to what he means.
"What?" He asked him innocently.
"And they don't have a clue!" Flynn continued, throwing his arms up in the air in frustration.
"Who?" Gobber Inquired.
"They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line..." he elaborated to Gobber. "Our trio's down to two..".
Gobber's face fell as he understood what Flynn was rambling about. "Oh."
"The sweet caress of twilight! " Flynn sang with a French accent." There's magic everywhere...abound with all this romantic atmosphere..." he put his arm in Gobber's shoulder as he glared at him "Disaster is in the a-i-i-i-r-r-r-r-r!"
And they watched for a few seconds as Elsa held Hiccup's hand and led him under the water fall as she put her hands up, drinking from the water. They saw the lovesick look on Hiccup's face.
Then they saw Hiccup and Elsa sitting, hand in hand with her head on his shoulder, by the edge of the watering hole that the three of them usually took a bath in. Now it was dusk and therefore is was cool and not steaming.
Hiccup watched Elsa as she smiled sweetly at him. He stared at her beautiful face and couldn't believe how he had never seen her like that before.
Elsa then blushed and stared at the water. He did the same and smirked at his reflection. Should he be completely honest with her? No. If she learnt about his past, she'd turn away from him.
Then he remembered how much she hated swimming as a kid. A grin spread across his face as he looked at her mischievously. He jumped up and stepped back a few feet and grabbed one of the vines that he used with Flynn and Gobber as a swing to drop into the pool.
Hiccup ran and held on tightly to the vine and he dropped down when he was over the water surface. He vanished from view under the water edge and Elsa leaned over the edge, looking around frantically for hiccup as he didn't emerge from the water for a few seconds.
Then, he caught her by surprise as he emerged just a few inches away from her. He pulled her into the warm water headfirst as he laughed as she pushed away from him and jumped up, gasping for air.
Elsa frantically clambered back onto the edge and hauled herself up, her hair now all wet as she gasped, Hiccup clambered out after her, his shaggy hair plastered onto his face, covering his eyes from her view as he grinned at her.
Elsa raised an eyebrow and smirked at him before shaking the water out of her hair and shoving him back into the water, sprinting away into the greenery. It was so much different than the horrid conditions back in Berk. She looked over her shoulder as she ran and saw Hiccup chasing her as she laughed and continued running.
As Flynn and Gobber watched them, Gobber sighed. "That's so romantic..."
Whereas Flynn groaned, slapping his palm onto his face. Then an idea struck him as he grabbed Gobber and shook him. "Gobber! I've got it! We can't let them feel the love tonight!"
Gobber looked at him, confused, but nodded anyway. Flynn looked around and grabbed at a seven foot vine that lay on the floor. He hauled it up to his face and grinned devilishly at Gobber.
Hiccup and Elsa were watching as the sun began setting holding each other's hands as Flynn's Plan A went into effect as he used a blowdart shooter to hit Elsa with a splinter in the hand.
"Ow!" Elsa cried in pain as Hiccup quickly helped take it out and threw it back where it came from, incidentally getting Flynn in the process.
"Ahhh!" Flynn cried in agony.
Plan B went down as Hiccup and Elsa were running around the dragon's coast hill, which was very steep.
Hiccup was trying to catch up to Elsa, but she was just a tad bit faster than he was. Little did he know that Flynn and Gobber were waiting downhill, ready with a vine to trip them and ruin the moment.
As Flynn spotted the two of them playing around, he signaled to Gobber, who was holding the vine at the other end, behind the bush.
As they watched, Elsa turned around and began jogging backwards as Hiccup was sprinting at her with with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Flynn snickered as she reached the vine. He pulled at it hard and Gobber did the same at the other end.
All went according to plan as Elsa lost her balance and tripped over the vine as Hiccup, who had been running full speed, couldn't slow down and therefore ran straight into her and the two rolled down the edge of the snow covered slope.
Hiccup and Elsa rolled down the slope, laughing as they were reminded of their childhood together.
They fell down to a bed of soft snow at the foot of the slope. Hiccup fell on top of Elsa and he began laughing from what had just happened.
They both laughed for a few seconds before he felt a sharp tug on the collar of his dragon suit as Elsa pulled him towards her. The next thing he knew, her lips were on his as she kissed him.
Hiccup's eyes widened, slightly stunned but slowly he smiled and started kissing her back.
They both stood up and Hiccup held her cheek tenderly as he gazed at her beautiful face. She stared into his eyes and then they continued to kiss under the starry sky.
Flynn exclaimed victoriously as he tripped Elsa and Hiccup, sending them down the slope. He gave Gobber a high five as Gobber gave him one with a guilty look on his face.
Flynn grinned and eagerly peered down from the top of the hill, expecting to see Hiccup or Elsa getting up with a bruise or something. What he saw wiped the grin from his face.
They had landed on the bed of snow at the bottom of the hill and there his friend stood, lost forever from him, kissing, they watched her pull away, giving him a seductive smirk and leading him away from their view.
Flynn sat down on a log nearby and sniffed as Gobber joined him. "She's giving him those eyes...they're laughing...he's smiling that smile...and hugging...and...and..." Flynn sniffed.
They watched sadly as Hiccup walked away towards the river, holding Elsa's hand and her head laid on his shoulder.
Flynn sighed and began sadly,"... And If he falls...In love tonight...it can be assumed." He sniffed as he hugged Gobber sadly as he began to wipe away tears from his eyes as they knew that they had lost their young buddy to the girl.
"...His everyday with us are history..." They both looked at each other and began to cry loudly as they chorused.
"In short. Our pal...is d-o-o-o-o-o-o-m-m-m-m-e-d-d." They hugged each other and began to cry loudly in the night.
