Part one.

The boys are seventeen, Val is thirteen.

'' Mom, mami?'' Alex asks softly as he joins them in the living room after doing his homework, Brittany hums turning to look at him and raises an eyebrow as she sees him smiling nervously.

'' Yes happy?''

'' Can we talk?'' He asks softly his voice cracking, Brittany and Santana immediately nod their heads frowning as they see him nervously bouncing his leg as soon as he sits down in the love seat, Santana reaches forward and quickly turns off the TV.

'' What's wrong mijo?''

Alex looks down at his hands and shrugs. '' I, um..'' He groans running a hand through his blonde locks and pulls the letter he wrote upstairs out of his pocket. '' Fuck I don't know why this is so hard.'' He murmurs sniffling as tears fill his eyes, he holds the letter out for his mother and gulps. '' P-please j-just read this.'' He chokes out.

Brittany takes the letter from him frowning in concern and turns to her wife, Santana bites her lip shrugging her shoulders silently telling her that she doesn't know what's wrong and reaches out taking the letter from her.

She slowly unfolds it glancing at their son smiling sadly as she hears him sniffling softly and holds the letter in the middle so her wife can read it with her.

Dear mommy and mami,

I don't really know how to start this letter but I know I have to do it. Before I say anything else, I want you to know that I love you so much.

I've read all the horror stories of teenagers coming out to their parents so whatever your reaction is, it probably isn't something that I am not expecting. From being 100% okay with it to asking me to move out. I am prepared for whatever you have to tell me when you want to talk about this in person.

Telling you this is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It scares me so bad that you will stop loving me because of it, or that you would ask me to hide it. I can't do that. I respect that there are some people in this family that do not need to know, but there are others that I will be open to. I will be open to my immediate family, and hope you will be excited when I tell you there is a boy I want you to meet because he means something to me.

Valerie and Nico already know but I asked them to keep it a secret because like many things I just can't pin point your reaction to it, I know the two of you came out to your parents too but it's different if it's one of your own kids right?

I hope me being gay doesn't change the closeness of our relationship, but I just can't keep hiding myself.

I hope you aren't too mad.

Lex (Happy)

Brittany and Santana both look at each other smiling sadly as they realize their son is scared that they will disown him for being gay and quickly jump up as they hear him still sniffle, Brittany walks around the table and crouches down in front of him.

Santana joins her wife in front of their son and they both dip their heads trying to look at him, she smiles sadly as she sees his eyes screwed shut tears streaming down his cheeks and bites her lip. '' Say it out loud mijo.''

Alex shakes his head and gulps. '' I-I can't!''

Brittany reaches out cupping his cheeks and wipes away his tears, she slowly tilts his head up sighing sadly as she still sees his eyes screwed shut and bites her lip. '' You can honey, please tell us.''

'' I-i-i.'' Alex cuts himself off choking out a sob as his moms try to console him and slowly opens his eyes looking down at his lap. '' I am gay.'' He breaths out sobbing, Brittany immediately pulls him in a hug kissing his head as he burst into tears and closes her eyes her own tears threatening to spill out as she feels her wife join the hug.

She stands up pulling him up with her and wraps her arms around his waist rubbing his back, she kisses the side of his head as he buries his face in her shoulder still sobbing and shushes him softly. '' We still love you just the same Alex, we love you with our whole hearts and we are so proud of you.'' She murmurs softly running her hand through his blonde locks.

Santana leans up on her tiptoes kissing his forehead and slowly pulls back cupping his cheek, she wipes away his tears and smiles lovingly as he slowly locks eyes with her. '' You are still the same Alex we know and love, you being gay doesn't change a thing for us mijo.'' She softly pushes him back down on the love seat and crouches down in front of him taking a hold of his hand. '' Your mom and I are really proud of you, you are the bravest person we know.''

Brittany crouches down beside her wife and lays her hand on top of theirs. '' You are still the boy that forever won our hearts and as long as you are happy we are happy too Lex.''

'' You are really not mad?'' Alex asks in a small voice, Santana shakes her head and smiles lovingly.

'' Why would we be mad?''

'' Because you didn't imagine any of our futures like this?'' He asks brokenly, Brittany cups his cheek turning his head so they lock eyes and runs her thumb over his cheekbone.

'' Honey we don't care who you love as long as you are happy, the only future we imagine for all three of you is that you are happy and have a good education and love your jobs later on. We don't care if you are straight, gay or trans we will love you none the less, your happiness is all that matters to us.''

Santana nods her head in agreement and leans forward kissing his cheek. '' Is there someone special in your life?''

Alex nods his head and smiles sadly. '' Yes and he is currently coming out to his parents too, we agreed to do this together because we were both afraid of the reactions.''

'' Why are you so afraid baby boy?'' Brittany asks softly

'' Well you always told us that it doesn't matter who we love, but I read online that even though parents are openly talking about their feelings it can still change and I really don't want you to hate me.'' He whispers sniffling.

'' We can never hate you mijo and I can understand where you come from, I was afraid to come out to Abuela and Abuelo too and you know what they told me?''

'' What?''

'' That they don't care who I love as long as my girlfriend treats me with the respect and love I deserve, they told me that they will love me no matter what and to not listen to anyone telling me that being myself is a sin.''

'' Same goes for you Lex no matter who you love you will always stay our little boy, we will love you through anything and if anyone ever tries to tell you that loving your boyfriend is wrong we will be right there to put them in their spot like you did whenever one of the parents at school told you that we are living in a sin.'' Brittany says softly, she leans forward kissing his cheek and smiles. '' As long as your boyfriend treats you with respect and loves you for who you are, who are we to tell you it's wrong?''

'' We do know that it's not always easy to be ourselves though, but whenever the two of you need some advice we will be right here and will help you the best we can okay?''

Alex nods his head smiling slightly and sighs softly. '' Okay, thank you.''

'' For what?'' Brittany asks frowning.

'' For being you, I don't know how to explain it. You always manages to cheer me up and reassure me with just a few words and I love you so much for that, I don't know why I was so afraid I had to know that you would react like this.''

'' Being afraid is normal though but we are glad that we could reassure you, how did your sister and brother react?'' Brittany says softly.

'' Well Val being Val just exclaimed that she now has someone to go shopping with.'' Brittany laughs as Alex rolls his eyes and nods her head.

'' Yeah that is Val.''

'' And Nic?'' Santana asks curiously, Alex bites his lip and smiles slightly.

'' Well Nic being Nic immediately told me that he will protect me from all haters and will bust a few nuts when a boy hurts me and that he still loves me no matter what, he also had the protective bro talk with my boyfriend.''

'' He did?'' Santana asks smiling slightly, Alex nods his head and hums.

'' Yeah but only because he is in Nic's team and Nic only told him that if he ever touches me in a bad way that he will not only fly off of the team but that he will also wish that he would have never met us.''

'' He is on Nic's team?'' Brittany asks smiling slightly, she tilts her head as Alex nods his head smiling shyly and raises an eyebrow. '' Who is it?''

'' Ryan.'' Alex murmurs softly.

'' Taylor, Nic's best friend?'' Brittany asks smiling, Alex nods his head and bites his lip.

'' Now that the hard part is over, would you like to meet him I wanted to invite him for dinner soon.''

'' Of course we want that mijo, I have one question though.'' Santana murmurs softly.

'' What is it?'' Alex asks turning to look at his mami, Santana cups his cheek and smiles lovingly.

'' Does he make you happy?''

Alex nods his head and smiles brightly. '' The happiest mami.''

Santana smiles brightly and nods her head. '' That is the most important thing for us.'' She leans forward and kisses his forehead. '' Te amo mijo.''

'' Text him and invite him over for dinner Lex, you can choose a day.''

'' Really?'' Alex asks smiling brightly turning to his mother, Brittany nods her head and smiles.

'' Yes really, mami and I will cook something for us.''

Alex squeals and dives forward hugging them tightly. '' I will, te amo mami and mommy.''

'' We love you too baby boy.'' Brittany murmurs smiling lovingly, she kisses his cheek and pats his back. '' Go upstairs and tell your siblings to stop eavesdropping.''

Alex jumps up laughing and runs to the stairs yelling for his siblings to stop eavesdropping, Brittany turns to her wife and smiles slightly. '' Little boys get big too quick.''

Santana nods her head in agreement and falls into Britt's arms sighing softly. '' Lex has a boyfriend and Nic has a girlfriend, I can't wait to meet both.''

'' I am proud of Lex picking up all of his courage to come out to us though, sure it hurt a bit to even hear him thinking that we will hate him but I do understand where his angst comes from I am sure we both felt the same when we came out.'' Brittany says softly as she leans back against the love seat intertwining their hands on Santana's stomach as she leans back against her, Santana turns her head nuzzling her face in Britt's neck and hums softly.

'' Yeah I understand it too but I am sure we made it clear that we will never hate him for being himself.''

Brittany nods her head in agreement and sighs softly kissing her shoulder. '' Yeah I think so too, god our boys are growing up too fast.''

Santana nods her head in agreement and sighs softly. '' They really are.'' She glances at the time and sighs softly as she sees that it's close to midnight. '' Let's go upstairs, mi amor.''

'' Mom, ma?'' Alex asks softly as he storms down the stairs with his brother, Brittany turns to look at him and raises an eyebrow as she sees the concern in his eyes.

'' What's wrong honey?''

'' Ryan's parents didn't take it well, can I go to him please?''

Brittany kisses the top of her wife's head and stands up sighing softly. '' Nic you will stay here.'' She tells him as she sees the anger in his eyes.

'' But!''

'' No buts, you are staying here with your mami and Val.'' She walks to the front door grabbing her jacket and turns to Alex. '' Get into the car Lex, I will come with you.''

'' But mom..'' Brittany turns to Nico and walks over to him kissing his cheek.

'' Honey I know that Ryan is your best friend and that you are concerned and pissed off that his parents didn't take it too well, but you going over there and getting angry at them won't make the situation any better. Let me go there with Alex okay?''

She turns to her wife as Nico nods his head sighing softly and bites her lip. '' We will be back soon babe.''

Santana nods her head and walks over to her pecking her on the lips. '' Drive safely okay? Te amo.'' She turns to Alex and leans up on her tiptoes kissing his cheek. '' Everything will be alright mijo, te amo.''

'' Love you too.'' Brittany and Alex answer simultaneously slipping their shoes on, Brittany opens the front door and ushers her son outside to her car.

She jogs down the steps jumping into the drivers seat and pulls out of the driveway driving through the gate, Alex bites his lip nervously and sighs. '' What will happen now mom?''

'' I don't know honey, if his parents don't want to talk Ryan will come with us and he can sleep over.''

'' Really?'' Alex asks surprised, Brittany nods her head and sighs.

'' Yes really but we will have to set up some rules now though.''

'' Like what?''

'' Well the both of you are in a relationship so mami and I won't make you sleep apart, but the door will stay open when we all are at home though.''

Alex blushes knowing immediately what his mom means and shakes his head. '' Mom I am not ready for that.''

'' I am glad to hear that but still, doors open and if it's closed please lock it don't want your sister to walk in right?'' Brittany asks smirking.

'' Mom!''

Brittany laughs and reaches out patting his leg. '' Joking Lex calm down, the doors open rule is something your mami and I had too and we hated it but it's just to be sure okay?''

Alex nods his head and smiles slightly. '' We will mom and thank you.''

'' Stop thanking us honey, we love you no matter what okay?''

Alex nods his head and reaches out squeezing her hand softly. '' I love you too.''
