The weeks flew by and most of their siblings started Hogwarts already. Pierce and Giovanna on the other hand spent most of their time with the dragons and learning about their relatives. Surprisingly, their parents never noticed that they went past the garden since the shrubs were high enough to cover them. So far, they've learned from the diary that the realm they went to was called the "Nin" and that they can travel to different places. They were amazed that they have a family gift and a heirloom to find. While the dragons taught them about the basics of elements.
Giovanna eventually told the dragons about it and both of them seemed to be in deep thought. Zergeri and Serenity were right that fate brought them together. Only time will be able to tell if these children will change the realms. Now it's their job to train them with whatever knowledge they have and prepare them for their travel.
Which eventually brings them back to Pierce's and Giovanna's training. Zergeri was annoyed that Serenity was forcing him to help her teach them but he had no other choice. First thing they did was make the children eat their basic elements. Eating fire, wind, earth, and water will let them be one with their magic and strengthen their cores.
Pierce and Giovanna thought they were crazy. They were used to seeing wand magic and thought it was just motions. Oh, but how wrong they were to make those assumptions. Both of them were forced to eat them and it was not a pleasant sight to see.
First was dirt. It was the easiest to swallow and rich in minerals with the highest magical properties from earth. Unfortunately, Pierce and Giovanna both threw it back up but managed to gain a bit of magic to suffice them. Second came water. That was already a given and all they needed to do was to learn how to manipulate it. Wind followed after and it was a harder complex magic. Whenever they tried to inhale magical properties they would end up choking on it. Finally came fire and that was the scariest one to them.
Serenity had Zergeri breathe out fire and they had to eat it from his stream. Pierce was too scared to get burned until he saw Giovanna take a chomp out and held it up to her face like a snack. He stared at her in disbelief while following her lead. It was warm and fuzzy with a hint of spiciness to it. Both of them were surprised that fire had a taste. After the whole fiasco of eating the elements they moved on to manipulating them. Since they ate elements that weren't their own it enhanced the magic they already had.
For a couple of days they practiced hand motions to help them along. Slowly over time their elements would appear in front of them and Giovanna couldn't help but be excited over their achievements.
"Pierce! Pierce! Look I finally did it!", she exclaimed while holding a fireball near him.
Pierce turned around while smiling, showing his achievement as well, "Good job GG! Look I can turn this water into a ball!"
Both of them were proud that they were able to learn so much in a month. Zergeri and Serenity were also amazed that they learned so fast but he would never admit that. Serenity congratulated them while Zergeri grunted his approval. Now that they were able to manipulate their elements it was time for them to finally learn how to use them.
"Now we can move on to the use of your magic. Whether it be healing on the sidelines or fighting against an enemy." , she explained in a serious tone while glancing at them, "Are you ready children?"
Zergeri also waited for their response as he was eager to teach them combat magic. Both of them quickly agreed as they were excited to learn more.
"Alright, listen up you little brats and look closely. I'm only showing you this once. You inhale and roar as hard as you can. This is called a dragon's roar and you can use it for any of your elements. You have to call out your spell first before doing it since you're not strong enough yet." he boomed while roaring, "ICE DRAGON ROARRRRRRRRR!"
Giovanna and Pierce were amazed by how much ice he produced and tried doing it as well. Serenity deadpanned while looking at Zergeri hinting that he might have overdone it. He used his telepathic link to talk to her knowing he was going to get an earful.
"What! What's wrong? I only used one third of my powers. We should be fine Serenity.", he scoffed.
"Zergeri, you should know better, what happens if we get discovered. These humans can hunt us like they did before. Don't you remember we're not from here", she warned him angrily.
"But!"
"No buts! Zergeri we need to keep these children safe and teach them everything we can while we still have time. Please...let's go back to the lesson" , she pleaded.
"Fine", as he sighed in defeat.
The kids were still trying to roar at each other and didn't notice that Zergeri and Serenity weren't paying attention. Pierce tried roaring wind at Giovanna but unfortunately only a puff came out. She laughed while doing the same attempt with fire and as it turns out hers actually came out bigger. Pierce was a little hurt that he couldn't do the same and she noticed right away.
"Pierce, it's okay. Maybe wind isn't your thing. I mean we've only just begun anyway." she reassured him while offering another solution, "If you really feel bugged about it. Try using water or ice like Zergeri."
Pierce understood her reason and tried the suggestion with ice. He yelled out while inhaling and managed to get a bigger roar. It wasn't as big as hers but it was still bigger than before. Both dragons stopped their conversation and saw the children's roars and were surprised that they could get it that big. Impressed as they were, they knew these kids were going to be trouble when they're older. Zergeri chuckled knowing he was going to have fun in the future teaching them more combat magic.
