A/N

Lily is just sassy okay, she's not trying to be mean..also I love James but the cringe in this chapter is something else I'm sorry.

Also I'm considering breaking this story up into two parts, just because there's so much going on. The main pairing I want to focus on is Ted/Andromeda but I also want to develop Remus/Sirius, Barty/Regulus, Marlene/Dorcas and Narcissa/Lucius and of course James/Lily. Although I'm not planning on going into all these ships in depth I definitely want to include them for sure, let me know what you guys think, anyways..

Trigger Warnings: dark themes, talk about a break-up, unhealthy relationship (implied), language

Sirius collapsed on the couch in the common room, putting his legs up and giving a small yawn over the rumbling fire place.

"I'm expecting a food baby," he mumbled, rubbing his stomach as if he were expecting a child. The rest of the marauders filed in, each of them finding a seat in the common area but spreading out enough so that they had room.

"Well I hope it's not mine," Marlene said, walking in the common room with Lily. Sirius gave a small smirk and turned to James, curious to see how he was reacting to seeing Lily walk into the room. He seemed frozen, but at least he had a smile on his face.

"I don't know Marley, I'll have to let you know," said Sirius, patting his stomach. Marlene gave a small laugh and walked over to Sirius, sitting next to him on the couch. Lily looked at the ground, unsure of where she should go. She could feel James staring her down..

"I hope there's no hard feelings between us," Marlene whispered, putting a hand on Sirius' arm. The rest of the marauders pretending to look busy, but Sirius knew they would all be listening to the conversation he and Marlene were about to have.

"Course not," Sirius said patting her hand. "Hope you know I still care about you as well. I'm glad you're happy, you look great".

Marlene smirked and looked down at the ground before returning her gaze to Sirius. She sucked in a breath and placed her hands on her lap.

"Yeah. Well, I'm sure you heard but Dorcas and I are together," she said, her grin breaking out into a wide smile.

Sirius furrowed his eyebrows.

"You are? I didn't know, that's great, Marls," he said smiling at her. He tried to hide the pain in his voice, hoping she wouldn't notice. He still had mixed feelings for Marlene and sometimes felt like he regretted the break up. But in the end, they just didn't seem to work out well as a couple and he often tried to remind himself of that.

"I'm happy for you," he said genuinely, looking into her eyes.

"Thanks Sirius, I appreciate it". Marlene grinned again. "How have you been? I heard your cousin got married?"

Sirius tried not to let out a laugh as he thought about the events of Bellatrix's wedding. He rolled his eyes and bit his bottom lip.

"I've been doing well. Yeah, you missed out, there was talk that I was the hottest guy there. Lost track of how many people hit on me that night," he said stretching his arm. Although what he said wasn't exactly true...Sirius thought it wasn't a full lie, because surely plenty of those girls thought he was cute, right?

"Right, of course. Are you-you know?"

Remus poked his head up slightly from his book, looking to see Sirius' response.

Sirius dropped his shoulders and returned his gaze back to Marlene.

"M'not seeing anyone, if that's what you're asking," he said, shrugging his shoulders.

Marlene looked down at her hands in her lap and began to play with her skirt.

"Right. Well, I'm glad you're well too, Sirius," she said.

"I'm doing well too, if anyone's wondering," James said, walking over to Sirius and stretching his arm across his shoulders. He couldn't take the uncomfortableness any longer. That and he often struggled to remain quiet.

Marlene and Sirius glanced back at him, unsure of how to proceed with the conversation.

"Why does everything need to apply to you, Potter?" Lily asked, crossing her arms as she walked over to the group.

"Incase you haven't noticed Evans, I am the-"

"I don't care. It was a rhetorical question," she stated lowering her eyebrows. Remus moved his hand over his mouth to cover the smirk that was growing on his face.

Sirius ignored their banter and turned his attention back to Marlene.

"Seriously though," he said. James snorted and looked at Peter.

"Did you hear what he just said?" He asked, doubling over in laughter. Peter stared at him, his eyes huge. Remus tried to give James a look, wanting him to get a hold of himself but it was too late for that. Before he knew it he was laughing so hard he wasn't making any noise and he started slapping his legs and panting.

"Is he quite alright?" Marlene asked, glancing at James.

"He's a bit..tired is all..," Remus said walking over to James.

"Come on let's go into our room," Remus said grabbing James by the arm. James was still loopy with laughter, giving an audible giggle every now and then. Peter followed behind them, hoping nobody would notice his escape.

"He's quite the character," Marlene said, turning to Sirius and Lily. Lily rolled her eyes and sat down on the other side of Sirius.

Sirius sighed and set his hands in his lap.

"I know he can be a little ridiculous at times but I think he's just trying to impress you," Sirius said turning to Lily.

Lily's jaw dropped and she furrowed her eyebrows.

"What exactly was impressing about that?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

Sirius had to fight back a laugh. She was right, if anything that was embarrassing and quite far from impressive. Sirius lifted his hand to run his fingers through his hair before turning to Lily.

"I dunno. He's probably nervous. Just-just give him a chance..?" He asked with desperation in his voice.

Lily nodded. "I suppose I should". Sirius' eye had caught the clock above the fireplace and he realized it was getting late. He got up with a yawn and stretched his arms.

"I've got to go. Night, ladies," he said blowing them each a kiss good night.

Sirius walked off into the dormitory, opening the door and seeing everyone sitting on their beds. He sat on the floor next to Remus' bed and turned to him.

"Give me the map, I need to check on Andy," Sirius demanded, holding his hand out. Remus picked the map up from its place on his bed and hand it over to Sirius. Sirius pointed his wand into the map and whispered,

"I solemnly swear I am up to no good." He but his bottom lip and waited for the map to open and reveal its secrets.

"You truly are up to no good, Pads. Let her be," James said, popping a chocolate frog into his mouth.

"Says the boy who watches Lily Evans on the map," Remus added slyly.

"I do not watch her!" James exclaimed. "I just like to know where she is".

Remus rolled his eyes and turned to look at him.

"And what she's doing, who she's with, what color socks she's got on-"

"Alright I get it. I just want to know she's safe".

"Is that what they call it these days?," asked Peter. James rolled his eyes and looked at Sirius.

"I can't stand him," Sirius spat before closing the map and putting his head in his hands.

"Hm. He must be in the same room as Andromeda," James snickered. "Are their names only a finger length apart, Padfoot?"

Sirius let out a breath and shook his head.

"You don't get it," he said, letting out a half laugh half sob.

"Clearly I don't because I'm not invested in my cousin's love life nearly as much," James replied raising his eyebrows.

Sirius sighed. "Andy's more than just a relative. She's the only one who gets me, you know? You guys get me but...she's been through so much with me..with my family," Sirius sucked in a breath. "He's bad news that Lestrange...my uncle even warned me about him-"

"Aren't they all bad news?" James asked, raising his eyebrows.

"He's been said to use dark magic, Prongs. Illegal magic," he spat, becoming frustrated. "I hate that there's nothing I can do. She's betrothed to the bastard and I can't do a damn thing other than watch her down fall," Sirius said banging his fist into the floor.

"Do you think he would do anything to her?" Remus asked, concern spread across his face.

Sirius sucked in a breath as his bottom lip trembled. He didn't answer the question.

Sirius and Marlene aka the king and queen of healthy break ups...anyways their relationship is quite complicated as you will see but they handle it well :)

Do we think Sirius knows more than he's leading on to when he talks about Rab? Hmmmmmm
