Percy Pov

Percy had never been great at understanding girls.

The complexity of their feelings always made his head hurt. Thalia had always been the one girl he could seem to understand pretty easily, but now, he was baffled.

After that... night, Thalia's icy temperament had become unstable, showing a more fragile but just as angry girl.

He was now coming to regret what he'd done with Thalia if this was the consequence. That night for him had been meaningless besides a little release after so long without any sexual pleasure. He'd never felt the way he had with Annabeth with anyone else, and he'd tried to make that clear to Thalia, but apparently, she didn't like that.

The worst thing about this situation was that Thalia was growing on him. Over the past few days, he'd learned that they were more alike than he'd ever thought before, and he'd always been physically attracted to her rugged looks.

As he looked down at Thalia's sleeping form, he felt a sharp pang in his gut followed by what felt like hundreds of butterflies taking off in his stomach. Ughh she looked beautiful as she slept.

The same guilty conscience he'd felt after he'd slept with Thalia returned. He was disgracing Annabeth's memory. He jerked his arm from around Thalia and stood up a little too quickly.

"mmhggggh," groaned Thalia, opening her eyes.

Thalia stretched her arms as she came to, exposing her impressive abs, and this time, Percy was staring. Luckily, she didn't notice and Percy was able to jerk his eyes up to her face before she noticed him.

"Hey Percy," said Thalia with a slight smile, "what's on the to-do list today?"

Wow, she was surprisingly happy.

"Uhh, that's usually not my job."

Percy didn't need to say what he was thinking; it was obvious. The previously cheerful atmosphere was instantly dampened by Percy's words. Nice going, genius thought Percy.

Thalia abashedly averted her gaze to her shoes before speaking, "Well… I think the prophecy said something about "followers of the pair," so we could maybe recruit some demigods?"

"That makes sense," Percy started, "but where-"

With almost comedic timing, Percy noticed a young boy about a hundred yards away, wandering the woods alone. His movements seemed to be more defined than usual, and a sort of distortion surrounded his body, resembling heat radiating off a hot football field.

Thalia turned around to see where he was looking and her eyes landed on the young boy, walking with purpose to an unknown destination. The pair exchanged a meaningful look and started quietly walking towards the boy.

The two demigods closed the gap between them and the boy quickly before Thalia motioned for Percy to move behind a tree.

"Follow my lead," said Thalia

Ignoring Percy's indignant protest, Thalia moved behind the boy.

Now that they were closer, Percy noticed some finer details about the boy. He was definitely a demigod and a powerful one at that. He could feel the power inside the boy; even if it hadn't been harnessed as of yet. In one hand, he carried a few fragile-looking plates and vases, and in his other hand, he carried a bow with the matching quiver strapped to his back. He had an unassuming outfit of sweatpants and a sweatshirt that didn't suggest any type of battle.

While they walked, they maintained a safe distance of about 30 feet. Thalia was able to creep silently behind the boy from her brief Hunter training while Percy desperately tried not to step on a stick. The boy suddenly stopped and Thalia rolled behind the nearest tree together to avoid being seen. Percy quickly followed in a less than graceful fashion while Thalia shook her head at the son of the sea god.

With caution, they both stuck their heads out from opposite sides of the wide pine tree in tandem.

The demigod placed the china on the ground and turned around, walking towards Percy and Thalia. The duo shifted around the tree to stay out of view while the boy continued to walk back from the china. After there was a distance of nearly 50 feet between the boy and the vases and plates, he turned around and prepared his bow. In one fluid motion, he reached to his quiver, nocked an arrow, and released, striking a vase, and then another, and another, until the entire row of china was reduced to shards of porcelain.

Percy nearly gasped at the mysterious archer's skill but stopped himself. Anger radiated from the demigod, and he wasn't sure if it would be safe to approach him at the moment. But, as the archer started to walk back to where he'd come from, Thalia popped out from behind the tree, and Percy reluctantly followed.

"Hello, I'm Thalia."

The demigod looked surprised as he struggled to form a coherent response, no longer furious "Uhh, h-i I'm Frank," he stated.

"Do you know you're a demigod yet?" continued Thalia.

Percy noticed her smooth handling of the situation and realized it must have come from her time with the hunters.

"Wait, what did you say?" asked a baffled Frank.

Time Skip

After Frank had been given the standard demigod talk plus a little background on their situation, and Percy and Thalia had answered their fair share of questions. Frank still struggled to understand their situation, "So what you're saying is, my dad is a GOD, and I have cool powers like you guys supposedly do?"

Instead of answering that one with words, Percy simply grabbed a water bottle from his pack and poured some out before suspending it in midair. He did some water bending tricks for fun before splashing it in Frank's face.

"That real enough for you?" asked a smug Percy.

Frank's expression of wonder shifted to one of rosy-cheeked dismay while Thalia let out a small giggle.

"I'm not sure I quite like you," said a very wet Frank.

Percy's shenanigans were rudely interrupted by a series of growls behind the group. Frank's eyes left Percy's face and widened as they settled on whatever was behind him. Whipping around, Percy was met with a terrifying sight. At least 30 very scary, very intimidating wolves were being led by what seemed to be a werewolf.

"Hello, graceus… I don't believe we've met," drawled the werewolf with a smirk.

Attempting to appear confident, Percy uncapped riptide, "Hey ya fucking furry, I don't know what you think you're doing, but nobody fights Percy Jackson and lives to tell the tale."

The werewolf just laughed dryly before raising his voice, "SICK HIM, BOYS."

A/O: I know this chapter is short, but I also have other things to do now that my quarantine has ended. Unfortunately, that means a lot less free time for me which means less writing as well. I actually was supposed to be doing something tonight, but my girlfriend and I just broke up, and I'm a little sad right now, so I wrote this instead as well as binging Bojack Horseman which certainly did not help my sadness but whatever.

I guess I'm rambling, and I know this fanfic has the weakest overarching structure of all time, but I'm okay with that because my other fic is gonna be so good when I actually have the time to do some quality writing and I'm not depressed.

Anyways, review good, or bad if you wanna give me some serotonin. Also, follow to see the ending of this definitely epic cliff-hanger!
