It was the evening before Christmas Eve and Andy and Robert had decided to have a competition of who could decorate the best gingerbread house. With it just being the two of them, there was no official adjudicator but that didn't stop them from going against each other.
They had taken two different approaches to their gingerbread houses. Andy had gone very traditional with hers, covering the roof in white frosting and used a packet of Dots along the edge to act as Christmas lights. She had also kept the area around the house very simple with candy lining a path to the front door.
Robert, on the other hand, had gone for a beach theme. He crushed Graham crackers to act as sand, added blue food colouring to the frosting to make the sea and placed Swedish Fish in the frosting to make it look like the house was by the ocean.
Once he had started decorating his house, Andy had scolded him for not going down the traditional route. He ignored Andy's comments and stuck to his plans and he wasn't in a fluster like Andy was. Andy had struggled with each step, in both construction and decoration, and with her stubborn streak, she refused Robert's help, despite him asking her if she needed any. Andy had been adamant about making it herself, even if it was failing on her.
"Babe, come here." Robert spoke as he finished with his.
"Robert, I don't need your help." She shouted, a little louder than she would've liked but the frustration was getting to her.
"I wasn't going to help you." Robert responded. He positioned himself behind her chair before bending down to lick her cheek.
"What was that for?" She asked.
"You had some frosting there so I thought I would take care of it."
"Is that so?" She replied seductively.
Robert nodded. He took the piping bag out of her hand, resting it on the table, before pulling her out of the chair. He began swaying to the music in his head and Andy simply followed him. It wasn't the first time that they had an impromptu dance of an evening to relax from a long day.
"Robert, take me to bed." Andy asserted. This wasn't the first time the impromptu dance had led to something else either.
Robert did as he was told and pulled his wife up the stairs to their bedroom.
"You know, we should probably go back downstairs to see who won the gingerbread house competition." Robert spoke, breaking the silence in the afterglow.
"Why? We both know you've won." Andy admitted, repositioning herself next to Robert.
"We should at least clean away the mess."
"Maybe" Andy spoke, "Though the house is awfully cold and I don't feel like getting out of this warm bed."
"Fair enough." Robert said, brushing his hand up Andy's arm.
"Though, promise me we won't make decorating gingerbread houses a tradition because that was horrible." Andy laughed, thinking about how much of a panic she got into.
"Deal!" Robert stated, "Yes to more sex, no to gingerbread houses."
A/N: The amount of research that went into this chapter is a little unbelievable; we don't particularly decorate gingerbread houses, though it is becoming more popular, so I didn't really know how to describe them. Being a Brit and writing for an American show is such a curse sometimes, but I hope I've made it work. Don't be afraid to let me know your thoughts, it's very useful x
