Ash was excited for 2 reasons. Both of which involved them being on a plane to look into a freak storm in Kalos. The first being, that it was just him, Chloe, and Goh. So he didn't have to keep pretending in front of Professor Birch. The second, was that while Goh had been there once before, there was a lot still left to see and it was Chloe's first time visiting the region. "Pikachu look! It's Lumiose Tower!" Ash said excitedly looking out the window. "PIKA!" Pikachu cheered. Ash also knew where they were going, and if they were lucky, he had a good friend or two that could help them out.
"So we're heading for the region just north of Lumiose?" Chloe asked double checking. "Yep and I know a shortcut!" Ash said running towards the center of town. "Ash do you know where you're going!" Goh yelled trying to keep up. "Oh course! I've been here plenty of times!" Ash shouted back. "Pikachao!" Pikachu yelled looking backwards. Ash stopped in front of the gate to let his companions catch up. "Ash are you positive this is it?" Chloe asked. "100%! I can tell by the gate." Ash said pointing upwards. Whatever Ash saw, they clearly didn't, it looked like a stone archway just like any other. "Now come on! There's no time to waste." Ash said heading through the gate.
Stepping out they could see the storm clouds in the distance. Lightning periodically flashing. "Come on, I have some friends further in that will be willing to help." Ash said going ahead through the wetlands. It finally clicked for Goh, on why Ash had recommended wearing rain boots for this mission. It was swampy. "Hey Ash! Wait up! You're the only one who knows the way!" Goh said, cautiously stepping forward. "Oh, hurry up!" Chloe said. As her and Eevee were ways ahead of him as well.
Chloe stopped as she had reached an area with a small hut. She thought she was just on the tail of Ash, but now she wasn't sure where he'd gone. "Remarkable! This weather is definitely not natural!" A boys voice said from a bit off. "We already knew that big brother.! We're trying to figure out why it's happening!" A little girl's voice said. "Nenene!" A third voice said, possibly a Pokémon's. Chloe approached them, if they were also looking into the storm, maybe they could help. She saw a boy in a blue jumpsuit, with blonde hair looking at some weird machine, and a little girl with similar colored hair holding a Pokémon in her arms.
"Hello there!" Chloe waved as she walked over. "Oh hello there." The boy said adjusting his glasses. "I heard you talking about the weird weather. I'm actually part of a team looking into it as well. Could we maybe work together?" Chloe asked. "You're really pretty. Do you want to marry my brother?" The little girl asked rather bluntly. "B… Bonnie! You can't keep asking random people that!" The boy said, raising his voice angrily. "Sorry about that, I'm Clemont by the way." The boy said, extending his hand. "I'm Chloe. Nice to meet you." Chloe said, shaking his hand. "I'm Bonnie, and this is Dedenne!" The girl said, raising up the Pokémon in her arms.
"Chloe! There you are!" Goh exclaimed. Chloe looked over at her friend who had clearly fallen in the mud at least once. "Goh come over here!" Chloe said, impatiently. "Meet Clemont and Bonnie." Chloe said pointing to each of them. "Nice to meet you. So do you two live out here?" Goh asked, pointing to the shack. "Not quite. We're from Lumiose City. As the gym leader it's my responsibility to help not just in the city but the surrounding areas as well." Clemont stated. "You were saying something about the storm not being natural, right?" Chloe asked. "Yes, that's actually what this machine is for. Whatever or whoever is causing this storm, has powers beyond most Pokémon." Clemont said looking at the screen. "So could it be a legendary Pokémon?" Goh asked far too excited for what was happening. "Maybe! We Were going to take a look in a bit if you wanted to join us." Bonnie said with a slight bounce.
"That'd be great but we're still missing the third member of our team." Chloe said with concern. "Knowing Ash, he's probably already there." Goh laughed. "Wait, you wouldn't be talking about Ash Ketchum would you?" Clemont asked, startled. "Yeah, why do you ask?" Chloe responded. "We used to travel with him!" Bonnie said, excited to see her old friend again. "I wouldn't worry too much about Ash. Even against legendary Pokémon, him and Pikachu manage to do just fine." Clemont said.
"Pikachu, I hate to say it, but we aren't doing too good." Ash said as they backed into a corner. Instead of finding the storm or Goodra, they found something far worse. The Xerosic vines! "They weren't this far out, or powerful last time." Ash said. The other Pokémon he had brought were exhausted, and they were running out of space.
