General POV

Ruby is seen falling from the sky. Time seems to slow as before she can land she is hit by Jaune who was thrown by the Deathstalker. The two are propelled into the trees.

Ruby is dazed as she sits on a branch. "Oohhhh... What was that?" Her dizziness passes with a shake of her head.

"Ow~!" Jaune is heard. Ruby looks up to see him hanging upside down from a higher branch. "Hey Ruby." He says.

Blake and Yang look over from the temple. "Did your sister just fall from the sky?" the former asks.

"I…" Yang begins but is interrupted by a growling sound in the forest in front of her.

A large explosion is heard and an Ursa appears from the forest. Another explosion is heard from behind it and the sound of Nora going "YEEEE-HAAAAW! GIDDY UP! FASTER FASTER!" The Ursa collapses, revealing that Nora was riding it against its will. "Awwww... It's broken." Nora groans as the Ursa starts to decompose. Nora dashes onto its neck and observes the carcass as Ren comes up behind her.

Ren is panting and leaning on the monster. "Nora! Please... Don't ever do that again. That was... the worst plan ever... of all time." Ren looked up to see that Nora had gone off.

Nora is instead at the temple looking at a golden rook relic. "Oooohh." She grabs it and makes various poses while Ren, for the seventh time that day, stared reexamining his life choices. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!" She sings.

Ren shouts to her from a distance, "Nora!"

Nora stops dancing with the rook on her head, then salutes, dropping the relic into her hand. She leaves to join her friend, "Coming Ren!"

"Did that girl just ride in on a Ursa?" Blake asks Yang.

"I…" Yang begins but is again interrupted. This time by the sound of the Deathstalker as it chases her brother with Pyrrha on his back into the clearing.

He smiles when he sees that Yang and partnered up with Blake, he speeds up and yells at Ruby's level of speed, "Hey sis! Can't talk now, I've got my hands full and the tail is chasing me this time!"

The Deathstalker attempts to grab the pair, Dusty smirks as he activates his semblance and phases through its claws. He shouted in excitement "Wow, damn that never gets old!" He looks over his shoulder to see Pyrrha's shocked face "I guess that'll have to do for an explanation for now, eh!?"

She points to a nearby tree and yells, "Look, there's Jaune!"

He noticed him in the tree, "Yeah! Hey Jaune, you doing okay up there?!" 'Damn, the kid doesn't even have aura yet and he's still alive. He's either the luckiest or most unfortunate person here. The guy looks half dead from what's happened so far.'

"Pyrrha! Ryo!" Jaune responds, still stuck in the tree.

A tick mark appears on Dusty's forehead in annoyance, "DAMN IT JAUNE! I SAID TO CALL ME ROY!"

"Wow. Oh hey, 'Roy', I used the 'Wheel mode'! It works!" Ruby looks at the Deathstalker and hops down from the tree to the temple.

"Ruby. Wait, who's Roy?" Jaune misses the opportunity to ask for help.

Dusty deadpanned and thought, 'This guy is a fucking dumbass.'

Ruby lands in front of Yang and Blake.

"Ruby?" Yang is surprised by her sudden appearance.

"Yang!" Ruby raises her arms to give her sister a hug.

"Nora!" the girl herself yells, interrupting the sister as she suddenly appears between them, giving them both a shock.

Dusty is seen being chased with Pyrrha on his back by the Death Stalker in the nearby clearing, "GUYS! I'M NOT SURE IF YOU'VE NOTICED BUT COULD REALLY USE SOME HELP OVER HERE!"

"Did your brother just run all the way here with the invincible girl on his back and a Deathstalker chasing him?" Blake asks another question while Nora waves her body around having fun and Yang tries to keep in the built-up frustration.

Yang figuratively explodes. "I can't take it anymore!" Her eyes turn red and you can visibly see the fires appear behind her. "Can everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!"

Dusty sees this and gets annoyed, "I could use a little help here!"

While everyone waits a moment, Ren runs up to join Nora as Ruby decides to point out something to Yang, "Um… Yang." She says, then points up.

Weiss is shown holding onto a talon as she flies through the air.

"How could you leave me?" Weiss screams as the perspective shifts to show that she is holding onto the talon of an enormous nevermore as it flies through the sky.

"I said jump." Ruby replies as she, Yang, Blake, Nora and Ren watch from below.

"She's gonna fall." Blake mentions.

"She'll be fine." Ruby answers.

"She's falling." Ren observes.

Jaune is shown having gotten himself up from the branch he was previously hanging from. He smiles seeing his opportunity to be a hero as Weiss is falling. Jaune jumps from his branch, catching Weiss mid-air. "Just dropping in?" Jaune then realizes that he didn't have a plan following this and the two fall to the ground with Weiss landing on Jaune's back.

"My hero." Weiss sarcastically comments as Dusty is seen in the background, still being chased by the Deathstalker.

'Roy' looks down at Jaune and shouts, "Hey! Weiss, is he dead yet!?"

She looks at 'Roy' thinking 'Suppress it!' and then down at Jaune to make sure and hears, "My back." Jaune strains to speak.

"Does that answer your question?"

Dusty is stuck between relieved and aggravated as he tries to remember the reasons Jaune needs to live for, 'Okay, he's a good strategist, his sister's wife can get us into Atlas... That's all I've got, the only somewhat redeeming quality he has is picking up older women. Pfft wouldn't it be funny if ended up with Salem, actually the thought is kinda sad really. The guy's should count him self lucky that he wasn't impaled or eaten in the time he's been alone.'

He looks behind him and sees one of the Deathstalker's pincers heading for him as jumps at it and springboards off and lands in front of the group as he puts Pyrrha down, "Sorry about that. You okay?"

Pyrrha nods and says, "It's alright, although this isn't exactly what I had in mind when a guy tries to pick me up."

Dusty sighed and pulled his cap down over his eyes and said, "Remind me never to let you interact with my sister."

Pyrrha looks at him incredulously, "Why shouldn't I be around Ruby?

He simply says, "Not her, I'm talking about the blonde with a short fuse. She has a habit of making terrible puns, whether she actually tries to come up with good ones or they're intentionally bad is up in the air. I mean, I can tell good jokes but she sucks."

Pyrrha smiled and looked at him in curiosity, "You mind giving me one?"

He shrugs and says, "Sure. What do some people down south have in common with yeast?"

Pyrrha shrugs back at him as he smirks and says, "They're both inbred/in bread."

She widens her eyes as she covers her mouth with her palm trying to contain her laugh and says, "That's terrible, hilarious, but terrible."

"I'm actually kinda proud of that one, but Yang's are so bad that when her mom gave birth she crapped herself and thought she had twins. It would definitely explain why she's so damn corny." Pyrrha tries again to contain her laughter but makes her hyena laugh again.

He looks ahead and cringes, "Excuse me, there's something I've gotta take care of."

"Weiss?" Ruby asks as she sits on the floor.

"And dim-witted, and hyperactive." Weiss continues, getting up from her knee to face Ruby while Dusty walks past her until he's right in front of it "And don't even get me started on your fighting style."

"And I suppose… I can be a bit…" Weiss tries to find the right word while Dusty says "-of a bitch?" in the back ground. "Difficult. But if we're going to do this. We're going to have to do this together. So if you quit trying to show off. I'll be… nicer." As Weiss prunes on Ruby starts looking at her brother as he tries to find a good angle on the Deathstalker behind Weiss.

Ruby attention switches back to Weiss and tell's her "I'm not trying to show off. I want you to know I can do this."

"You're fine." Weiss replies, walking away.

Ruby breathes a sigh of relief, then closes her eyes and clasps her hands as she gratefully whispers, "Normal knees."

After getting up, Ruby looks around the wall of ice after she hears a loud slicing sound. "Wow" To see that the Deathstalker has its right claw stuck in the ice while the left side of its body is completely gone.

Yang runs up to her sister and hugs her. "I'm so happy you're o-... Oh wow, what happened here."

"I happened," the three turned to look at Dusty, "You see, while these two were having their little heart to heart, I took care of the alive and very pissed off Deathstalker behind them. I get that you two don't get along, but you really shouldn't leave yourselves wide open like that. The ice keeping it place could have shattered at any moment."

As if to emphasize his point, the Deathstalker's corpse falls to the side as the ice breaks and the Grimm dissolves, "Like that. Seriously, it was WIDE OPEN." The red and white duo blush, they were embarrassed at the rookie mistake they made that could have cost them their lives.

"Hey, uh guys." Jaune points up to the flying Grimm. "That thing's circling back. What are we gonna do?"

Weiss, for the first time, was thankful for the blonde's presence as she saw a way to change the subject, "L-look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us." All eight of them look over to the relics.

"Y-yeah ,she's right." Ruby agrees, seeing what her partner was trying to do. "Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the cliffs. There's no point in fighting that thing."

"Run and live… that's an idea I can get behind!" Jaune also agrees. At this point everyone is in agreement.

They were about to grab one of the pieces when the heard a cough, they turned around and saw Dusty look at them with a pitying gaze, "Ahem, not that I want to rain on your parade or a to stay with the Angry Bird up there, but do you guys really think that the Nevermore is just gonna let us leave after Iceflower over here used it as their personal taxi." Not getting a response he sighed and told them, "How about this? Ruby, Weiss, since you two brought Big Bird here, you guys will take care of it with support from Yang and..." 'I don't think I talked to her till now, I wouldn't want to attract the wrong kind of attention by knowing her name before she gave it.'

Blake noticed him looking at her and introduced herself, "Blake Belladonna, nice to meet you."

Dusty nodded, "Ditto. While you two give them support, I already took care of the Deathstalker that someone mistook for a relic."

Jaune got flustered when he was called out, "Oh, come on! How was I supposed to know it wasn't the relic."

Dusty held his hand and counted down, "One, Ozpin said it would be in a temple, not a cave. Two, if the teachers are smart they wouldn't make the relic big enough to hinder you in battle. And three, the writing was on the wall. No seriously, the writing was LITERALLY on the wall, if you hadn't run in the cave screaming like a little girl (Hey!) at the entrance then you would've seen the cave drawings of a Deathstalker being forced into the cave." Jaune then turns around and sits in the fetal position as he starts to draw in the dirt due to a depression.

Dusty looked back at everyone else and continued, "Meanwhile, the rest of us will be taking this guy," point to Jaune, "Back to the cliff, he's been through hell and his aura isn't healing him." 'Not that he has any...' "So if he were to stick with you guys, he is going to die." He received nods from every one there and turned to his partner, "Come on Pyrrha, let's get our pieces and leave." At that the others followed suit.

Ruby grabbed a Golden Knight piece, Jaune grabbed the single Black King, and Dusty took the remaining Golden Rook.

Ren declares to the group. "Time we left."

"Right, let's go." She turns to her brother and says, "Wish us luck bro."

Dusty puts his piece and his hands in his pockets, looks at her with a sincere smile and says, "Nope, you're not gonna need it. Just stay safe." He turns around and gives her a backwards wave, "Later, come on guys, let's go."

A few minutes later with DRPN & Jaune

After about 2 minute of walking in a random direction, Jaune asks, "So uh, do you know where we're going."

Dusty looks both ways to make sure they were alone and then back to the others and says, "Not a clue."

Everyone yells, "WHAT!?"

Dusty nodded to himself, 'This ought to be far enough.' "Okay guys, grab onto me." Everyone looks at him confused, but does what he said. "Oh and just a heads up, the first time is always the hardest so you might want to take deep breaths."

Jaune raises an eyebrow as he asks, "What do you mean by-!?"

Before he could finish his sentence they were all sucked through a green and black vortex.

Back at the cliff

Earlier Pitch had returned after Ozpin threatened to dock his pay, while he was glaring holes in the headmaster, Glynda and Ozpin were watching the footage of team RWBY's fight with the Nevermore. That's when they begin to feel the air shift around them. They turn around and see five students coming through a crack in space. Dusty looks at his team, "Well, we're here guys. Hey, Ozpin, we've got our pieces." He hands his piece over to Pitch. "By the way, you might want to get Jaune here checked out for...", he gestures to all of him. "-this."

As Ozpin was about to say something he saw Jaune looking green, "Are you alright young man?"

Pitch sees what's about to happen as he walks next to Glynda and whispers, "You might want to stand back for what happens next."

Glynda sees it as well and hurries out of the way, meanwhile Pitch took out his Scroll and hit record. Ozpin looks at the two confused before he turns back to the ill student just as Jaune throws up all over his face and jacket. When that happened he was stunned as Jaune began to throw up again, but this time on his shoes.

As that happens, Pyrrha and Pitch fail to hide their laughter as it comes out in their patented style. Glynda watches the interaction between the two as she makes up her mind, 'Well, if I had any doubts left they're gone now. They really are father and daughter.'

The Auditorium

On the stage stands and annoyed Pitch Black, "I know that all of you thought that Professor Ozpin would be the one to announce teams, believe me, I don't like being on this stage again either. However due to an unexpected development, Ozpin won't be able to make it. So for now you'll have to make due with me. Now, let's get started..."

Many teams later

"...Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. The you four managed to retrieve the black bishop pieces." He scowls at the team and thought, 'Ozpin must have some very low standard if he let these four in.'

"From now on, you will work together under the designation Team CRDL (Cardinal), led by... Cardin Winchester.", he grimaced as the audience claps to applaud them.

Team CRDL left the stage and are replaced by the next group, Pitch began to smile for the first time since he had to stand in for Ozpin... again. "Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie, and... DUSTY Rose." Pitch says their names as they stand before him and 'Roy' is stuck between turning pale and blushing. "The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From now on and until you graduate, you will work together as Team DRPN (Drapion)."

More clapping as Nora hugs Ren while he looks indifferent, Pyrrha just smiles softly while eyes look at Pitch with uncertainty, and Dusty forgot about his name being announced and thought, 'Really? You name my team... after a Pokemon.'

When Pitch saw this, he frowned and thought, 'Hey, it's harder to come up with team names than you think. At least I chose a Pokemon that was relevant and considering you took out an ancient Deathstalker, it was also the most appropriate name I could think of.'

Pitch sighed before moving on with a smile, "Led by... Dusty Rose. Good luck, you'll do great." Pitch says.

Pyrrha pulls Dusty into a hug, causing him to gain a blush that matches Pyrrha's hair, and she whispers, "It's okay, I forgive you for not telling me your real name." The audience laughs when they see the embarrassed look on his face as he whispers back, "Yeah, sorry about that. For some reason the name always made me feel embarrassed"

"And lastly. Blake Belladonna, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee and Yang Xiao Long." Pitch announces the last team as DRPN leaves the stage and are replaced by the aforementioned girls. "The four of you attained the white knight pieces. From here on out, you will work together as Team RWBY." The audience cheers again.

"Lead by… Ruby Rose." Pitch said as Weiss and Ruby gained shocked expressions, for different reasons.

"I'm so proud of you!" Yang hugs her sister and new leader.

'Oh Salem, you and your husband don't even realize it yet, but you've already lost. I have eyes everywhere and an army to call on at any moment. I might as well be playing chess against myself, because even if I lose I still win... It's your move.' Pitch thinks to himself as his smile turns a little dark.

The next day in an unknown location

Under the darkening sky one could see cargo containers filled with Dust and in the center of the new building Torchwick is seen standing in front of a map.

"The cops are getting to be a nuisance... No, aside from those kids and the Headmaster's lapdog, nobody has gotten close to capturing us... Yes, it would be very much appreciated... NO! NO! DO NOT SEND HIM!... The last time you sent him to help half the town got covered in thorns!... Yeah, so what can you do?... *sigh* That'll have to do... Surprisingly, yes, and it's by far the best one yet... You made more?... Okay, fair point... Sis is doing fine, but she's been grouchy lately... What are you, my mom? When are you gonna get off me on that?... *groan* Fine, I'll try. Are you happy?... Well, I'll be sure to tell her... Yeah, same here, I'll tell Neo you said 'Hi'.", as Roman hangs up and slides it onto the table in front of him, he sighed and as he was about to light his cigar he noticed Neo in the corner giving him a sharp look. He looked at the cigar before looking back at Neo. He groans and puts it back in the cigar box he kept on hand. He looked to Neo and said, "There, are you happy?"

To which Neo smiles brightly and nods as a man in a grey mask and black hood comes with a trolley. Roman hands over some lien as payment.

"Open it." Torchwick commands. The other man does so to reveal an assortment of differently colored Dust crystals.

Torchwick picks one up. "Well he was right about one thing, SDC stock is a good place to invest when you know when and where they'll be hit."

You guys need to leave more reviews, it should be easy. I'm losing motivation, the review are what drive me so write some down, it also helps me make sure the quality is good. ANY review would be good.
