Truthfully Archer could have gone his whole life without going back to school. It wasn't exactly a collection of happy memories for him. He could literally write a whole book about what went wrong and why it was terrible. He'd be tempted to. If he ever did, he'd use it to bludgeon any red headed boys with the name Shirou. It'd be stupid and immoral but he'd feel good afterwards regardless.
What didn't feel good was being forced to wear a school uniform. He hated them with a passion. To be just like everyone else. It was a mockery of everything he stood for. It was an injustice. He did not want to go back and have to cram a bunch of useless points into his head again. More than half of the stuff they taught were things no one used or cared about after school. What was the point then? To make the staff feel good about themselves? Ha! He'd laugh if he was in a better mood. The reason for his mood was quite evident.
"Why is your hair always so messy?" Atalanta huffed as she brushed his hair. Archer was sitting in her lap as she fussed over his hair. His clothing choice was that of a school uniform you'd see in Japan and anime in general. "One wonders if you keep it messy on purpose to frustrate me."
"Big brother's hair is the worst," Shirone snarked from the side. She was also wearing a school uniform. The girl's uniform of course came with a tiny miniskirt. It was so small Archer had to wonder what was going through the school's mind when they issued them.
Shirone was fifteen now so it was her first day of school. She was still small and petite. Archer had to wonder if she would stay that way or grow up like her sister. Either way, he was glad she didn't act like Kuroka. That would have killed him. He could only handle one girl like her. Although Shirone had adopted a more snarky personality as the years went on. It made for some funny moments when said snark wasn't directed at him.
"Shirone," Archer griped, "What have I said about calling me that?"
"I'll stop when you get an actual name," Shirone deadpanned. Then she gave him a bright smile, "So please continue to take care of me, big brother~"
"I think it's cute," Atalanta said as she smiled, content with her actions. She put him down on the ground and kissed his cheek in a motherly way, "Take care of your sister."
"Yes mother," Archer sighed. Given how his body was new, no one really had a clear idea how old he was. While he was made from Shirone's essence, he was as tall and built as someone around Kuroka's age. He had told his mother as such, but Shirone made it very clear she wouldn't go unless he went with her so everyone decided to have him be her age. Technically speaking.
He cursed her for using her 'kitty' eye stare. Shirone was too cute for her own good.
Still, it was so strange to have a family. He never thought he would have one and now he did. A mother and a sister. Kuroka 'technically' was his sister but given their relationship, they never dared to call each other that. Kuroka may be a flirty girl but she wasn't really into the incest kink. Atalanta was fine with it as well so there was no problem. He was thankful that Shirone had shown no romantic interest in him over the years. Just a brotherly/sisterly relationship. That was fine by him but it was still odd. The only time he had a little sister before was Illya and… well…
She tended to sic Berserker on him a lot. She was a rather violent older sister. That and rather lustful. HIs younger self had the full brunt of that part of her and he didn't envy him. So he was content with his new life even if it still felt so odd.
"And Shirone," Atalanta looked over at her youngest daughter, "I want you to be a good girl. Don't make it harder for your brother, alright?"
"I'll be good for big brother," Shirone smiled brightly.
"Don't call me that," Archer grumbled. "Call me Archer."
"That name is stupid," Shirone snarked, "But it is kinda fitting. A name should fit the person."
Archer narrowed his eyes, "Why you little-"
Atalanta sighed and pulled on both of their ears, stopping their conversation in its tracks. "Children, please stop. You aren't five years old anymore. A brother and sister should be nice to each other."
"Yes mom," the pair huffed.
"Now shake and make up."
The pair huffed again and shook their hands.
Atalanta smiled, "There. That's nice to see. Be good little ones for mommy." She patted their heads, content to see them at least agree to be nice. Well as nice as they could be.
Archer and Shirone nodded and walked out of the room. They still had some time before they had to leave for school so they could get things in order before they arrived. Since they were magical creatures, sleep wasn't as necessary so they had simply stayed up through the night. He did need much more than when he was a servant, but he could get by without a night of sleep rather easily.
"Eeee," Kuroka squealed as she tackled him in the hallway. She pushed his face between her breasts as she stroked his hair, ruining his hairdo. "You look so adorable in that outfit, nya. I could just eat you up~ Maybe I- EOW!"
Kuroka looked back to see Shirone pulling on one of her tails. She glared at her little sister, "What was that for?"
"You need to learn restraint," Shirone huffed.
"I don't need any restraint, nya." Kuroka huffed, "I have my darling Archer. He needs to be loved constantly. It's for his own good."
"That's a lie and stop saying 'nya'," Shirone said, "It's stupid."
"I'm a cat."
"So am I and I don't say it."
"Well you should," Kuroka put her hands on her hips, "You'd actually be cute for once."
Shirone narrowed her eyes, "I'm always cute."
Kuroka's frown turned into a pleased smile as she patted Shirone's head, "Isn't that the truth, nya~"
Shirone puffed out her cheeks in annoyance, "Stop that."
"If you wanted me to stop you'd have pushed my hand away," Kuroka chuckled but complied. "I'm so glad to see you growing up to be such a lovely cat, Shirone."
Shirone smiled, "Thank you. It means a lot to hear that."
"And I mean it," Kuroka said, "I couldn't be prouder. I'm sure you'll sweep off Gasper with your cuteness in a heartbeat."
Shirone's face broke out into a hot blush, "K-Kuroka, don't say that!"
Archer couldn't help but smirk at the little interaction. While Shirone was becoming more independent, and did want to show it off, it was still good to see they could get along. At least they weren't mewling and rolling around trying to scratch each other. Again. Kuroka of course couldn't come to school. She was far too old and had been homeschooled by Atalanta. Archer and Shirone were only going because Ravel was and she was insistent on him going. So Shirone tagged along.
Kuroka was obviously peeved about that but there was nothing she could do. She just made sure to make it known she'd shower him with love every time he returned home. Ravel might have him at school but she had him at home. Fair was fair in her eyes. Archer just lamented on the fact that even now, years later, he was caught between two feuding women. Such was his life.
In the Gremory household, another girl was getting ready for a new day at school. The girl was certainly developing well. She had grown quite a bit since she had first come here. Her body was taller and she was starting to really develop a figure. Perhaps one day she would be as big as her big sister. The girl couldn't help but smile at that thought. This girl was known as Jack Gremory, formerly Jack the Ripper.
She was currently wearing the school uniform of Rias's school. Her first year in it in fact. She couldn't be more excited. She was finally entering her big sister's school. It was no secret that Jack looked up to her sister like an idol. She had never been more happy then when Rias had made her a Knight of her Peerage. She wasn't just a strange 'human'. No, she was a true devil. After that, it felt like she was really whole. That she was just Jack. It was so… inspiring. Jack couldn't help but grin at the memory.
Just to emphasize it, she let her devil wings pop out behind her. She spread them out wide, admiring them as much as she could. Why shouldn't she? They were a symbol of her new status. She truly was a Gremory now and that would always be the case.
"It seems someone's excited," a mature voice chuckled.
Jack turned her head to see her mother in the doorway, smiling proudly at her. The young devil rushed over and hugged her, "It's my first day of school. Of course I'm excited."
"I'm happy you are," Venelena patted her daughter's head. "Rias will take good care of you, so don't worry. If something happens I want you to go straight to her. She'll sort it out."
Jack nodded, "I will, mommy."
"Jack!" A shrill voice rang out, "Are you done? I'm bored."
Jack huffed. She knew that voice all too well. In stepped a pink haired girl about her age. She looked rather normal, although her true features were being hidden behind a glamour of sorts. Her draconic features revealed her to be none other then Elizabeth Bathory, Jack's friend and rival of sorts. "Yes I'm done. You don't have to shout."
Elizabeth grinned, "As a fellow Knight, it is my duty to make sure you're doing almost as good as me."
Jack rolled her eyes. Yes they were both Knights. The only two active members of Rias's peerage. The other member was… well he kept to himself so much that he couldn't be called an active member of the group. Even though Jack found her friend so very annoying a lot of the time, she still cherished having her around. It would be boring otherwise.
"Ummm…. Girls?" A soft voice said.
They both turned to see Gasper. He was trembling and shaking, clearly scared to be walking around the house. It was a terrifying experience for the young, cute dhampir. His blonde hair didn't do much to cover his quivering eyes. His lip trembled as his knees shook. "I… I wanted to wish you the best."
"Eee," Elizabeth squealed and quickly captured one of his arms. She rubbed her cheek against his, "You're so nice for doing that." She kissed his cheek, causing him to blush heavily.
Jack wouldn't be outdone. She was a close 'friend' of Gasper's too. She captured the other arm, "Yes, that's very nice." She kissed his other cheek twice and smirked at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth pouted and then kissed his cheek again, "Gasper is the best, isn't he?" SHe kissed it again.
Jack kissed it thrice more, "Yes he is."
Elizabeth had to even the count, "I think that's enough. He's a bit… overloaded."
They turned to see his face. His eyes were swirling. He was a sweating, red mess just looking at him. They inwardly sighed. Shirone had told them to stop fighting over him. They didn't want to end up like Ravel and Kuroka. That was a terrible line of thought and they all knew Gasper wouldn't survive the experience. So they would take it nice and slow.
The only issue is that two of the girls were once heroic spirits turned flesh. So competition was natural between them.
Venelana chuckled at the display, "Oh young love. Just don't kill him, girls. You kinda need him alive and well to romance him."
"Well if he dies, he can just come back as a cute zombie." Elizabeth offered.
"Errr… let's not entertain that idea." Venelana sweat dropped. Elizabeth could be a bit gruesome in language and intent but she was a good kid at heart. She was sure of it. It did her good to know Jack had a friend and a possible future lover that she approved of. Life was good.
Hello everyone. I am so sorry for taking this long to write another chapter. I also apologize for the length and quality. It's been a long while and I've taken on so many new projects and trying to finally start my novel. That and couple with everything going on in the world around me, well... I've lost some steam for this story.
But I want to continue it. This is my most popular story. I just love coming back to it and reading all the comments, getting ten or even much more comments each chapter. It's amazing and I can't help but thank all of you for that chance. You are really something and you're the reason I want to continue.
As for how, well... I've been reading a number of the comments and it seems I may have overloaded myself. I originally wanted to bring in a ton of Fate servants to be unique and give Archer his own storylines more so, so he didn't just follow the canon trail. I realize now that may have been too ambitious and that I've introduced enough. Elizabeth will be the last servant I will be introducing for a long while if ever unless I need another servant. Until then, all servants thus far summoned will be the only ones to get attention and exploration. Also yes, I chose Elizabeth as the last one because I like Elizabeth. I will be going over backstories in the next few chapters on how things happened between now and then.
Also last on Shirone. I really did not want to write her OOC because I love canon Shirone/Koneko but I couldn't just write her like canon. It wouldn't make sense for her to be no different. So this Shirone is much more expressive and happy compared to canon for obvious reasons. However, I still kept the snark. I love the dub snark she has so that's staying so it's still the Koneko we know but off in some ways. Hope you enjoy the change going forward.
Also lastly, yes, Gasper has a harem... Poor lad. XD I couldn't help myself. I just thought it'd be cute/hilarious if the younger girls went after him. He is a nice lad. That and his childhood friend might also join~
Okay, another note. Jack's eventual body shape is something I got from a few pictures. I did play with the idea of her always being petite and small but I decided that she'll eventually grow into a shapely form like the rest of her adopted family. Perhaps not as big but yeah. Jack's growing up. *wipes away tear*
Hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I can't wait to read your feedback.
