Astrid's POV
It was just sunrise at the edge as I woke to the streaks of light on my ceiling. And also the twins' stupid morning show. I got up, got dressed, brushed my teeth and went to brush my hair. I really need a haircut. They're all different lengths and it's getting too long. But Hiccup likes it, he says they're like gold. I frankly don't see it but I'm blessed to have him say that, when we actually hanged. The Firen fiasco has really distanced us, but today the gap might close. I saw two scrolls outside. The first one was from Heather.
Hi Astrid, Sorry but I got a Tmail from Dagur about a fleet of ships heading to beserker island. They need me so I've left. Dagur says we can manage them since we have time but if we need back up I'll Tmail you guys-Heather
The second letter was apparently from Hiccup,

I did a girly squeal which I hoped no one heard. Finally I can be with my betrothed. I did my hair and went to breakfast.
The gang were already eating, so I grabbed a piece of bread and some eggs and sat beside Hiccup.
"Hey where's Heather?"
"There is apparently a fleet heading for Berserker island and Dagur asked her to help defend. She said they'll manage but will call if they need us."
"I hope they'll be ok," I gave him a grin.
The twins' squabbling got louder.
"It is so obvious that the world will end when the sun explodes-"
"No the world will definitely get swallowed by a black hole, why would the sun explode. " Ruff questioned. They then turned their heads and grinned.
"Why wouldn't we explode the sun?" They planned in unison. I finished my eggs and got up.
"I'll see you later Hiccup," I gave him a peck and went to do a morning training session.
Hiccup's POV
I don't know why Astrid's being affectionate this morning but hey I'm not complaining. But of course Firen came in.
"Morning... where the girls?"
"I'm here," Ruff shouted.
"Cool I meant the other two,"
"Heather had to go back to protect her island and Astrid went to the woods to kill trees." Tuff stated.
"Why does she have to attack nature, those trees have done nothing to her,"
"Says the gronkle lover who's dragon barfed on his flowers," Snotlout sniggered
"Ok," He took some food and left. I felt on edge since Astrid is the only one outside. I know she can look after herself so I let it be but it was eating me up inside.
Firen's POV
I followed the sounds of roars and broken trees with Bolt. Astrid was decapitating the poor tree.
"Hey," She stopped and looked at me.
"Can I help you?" I smirked.
"No I'm good. Just thought you might like the company."
"Thanks but I'm good."
"I mean your boyfriend doesn't seem to take much interest in you."
She walked up to me, "Is that what you see? Hiccup's girlfriend? Just because I am doesn't define me. We both have our own duties now."
"I'm just stating. Anyway can I join?"
"Uhhh sure. You can use that target." I don't really use an axe but I trained with it anyway
Fuck how long does she train for. It was like evening when she was done. We had food breaks and patrol but seriously she needs a hobby or something.
"That was fun Firen anyway I got to go" She was about to leave
"Plans tonight?"
"Sort off." She walked away, leaving me and Bolt.
"I need a bath... and a healer. My muscles are so sore." Bolt huffed some smoke at me. "Alright you big baby let's go."
Astrid's POV
It was sunset, I checked myself in the mirror before I left. I decided not to bring Stormfly with since the north side isn't that far.
After walking for some time, I reached a cliff with a giant moon. It reminded me of our first flight and when i kissed him. I didn't know how to thank him for that night.
I waited for Hiccup...
And waited
And waited
And waited.
It's been like an hour. I was going to get up when I saw Firen with a picnic basket.
"Did Hiccup forget?" I postured myself and got up. "I guess, I'm gonna go anyway,"
"I brought food, we can hang if you like?" I had nothing else to do and I was starving.
"Sure." We got the blanket and ate some lamb.
Firen spoke up, "Nice night ain't it,"
"Yeah. " I felt him getting closer. Then I heard a rustle.
Hiccup and the gang were sneaking behind. Firen was leaning in with puckered lips Perv when he also heard it. If he turned around then this will all blow up.
"Did you hear something?" The gang couldn't hide anywhere. Plus Tuff had to sneeze but Fishlegs covered it up. Before he turned I did the only thing I could do.
I kissed him.
I then kicked him backwards and Snotlout and Hiccup tied him up.
Firen's POV
I was being kissed by a goddess, then blank.
My eyelids slowly opened to see the dome and the dragon riders all surrounding me. "What the fuck is this?" I looked at Hiccup and the gang. Astrid had her axe to my throat, the twins had a bunch of spears and Fishlegs towered over me.
Hiccup stepped forward. "Where's the lense you found?"
"What lense?"
"We know your with Johann and we know you have it."
I stared in shock, How "How?"
Hiccup smiled..."Easy... the moment you started messing with each of us we all knew that you were up to no good.
Flashback
"Alright gang, I'm sure you are all aware by now of Firen's behaviour." The gang all looked at each other.
"Not only did he try to get the lense but he tried to tear us apart. I know we have all had our own opinions, I know I did. Even if my accusation was right, I have to be honest... i did get psycho over him."
Snotlout spoke, "No Hiccup, we're sorry,"
"Yeah we should have listened to you instead of falling for that hunter's plan. I know you would have let me use the dragon eye but didn't on account of Firen"
"Yeah and I know your not a jerk Hiccup. And I do respect you ... at times." I smiled at the gang.
"And we will always support you H no matter how scrawny or controlling you become."
"Thanks Tuff, anyway I think I have a plan to outsmart this guy."
"How?" Heather asked.
"Well, he has already manipulated Heather, Snotlout, Fishlegs and the twins.. sort of. And he's basically trying to turn you guys against me and trust him. But there is one more person." We all looked at Astrid.
"Alright, what should I do?"
"Most likely he is gonna get you alone and talk you around. We just need to know when and ambush him at that moment.
"Alright but how did you know about the picnic?" I sneered. This cannot be happening.
Flashback
"When Astrid got your note, pretending to be me, she came to me and we discussed the plan.
Astrid spoke up, "I went to train early on purpose so you would follow, giving Hiccup and the others the chance to catch up. And I made you train all day so you would be too tired and sore to fight against us."
"Wow ok, no offense but you really are smarter than you look," She obviously took offence. Hiccup came forward, "Does that make sense now?"
"Almost, but you forgot one bit."
"And that is," Snotlout joked.
"The part where we destroy you guys," At my que boulders were catapulted to the edge.
Hiccup screamed, "EVERYONE STABLES NOW, GET YOUR DRAGONS!" They all left, leaving me. But they forgot my dear Bolt.
"Get me out boy,"
He used his claw and sliced the ropes. I hoped on and we flew off to Johann's base. Got the eye, now we get our escape.
Hiccup's POV
When we reached the stables, Fishlegs opened the door to reveal 5 downed dragons. We all ran up to our own.
"Toothless, are you ok bud, come on wake up," He was unconscious, all of them were.
"You think this was part of Johann's plan," Astrid asked.
Fishlegs found a cracked ball and gasped, "Hiccup this is yinb gas, it knocks a dragon out for days. "
Ruffnut raised her hand, "Is there a cure?"
Fishlegs got his book out and flipped through the pages
"Let's see hmmm topiaries... mount Everest... ah yinb gas... it says the cure is vaporized razorwhip tears."
And on que Tuffnut started the water works, "BWAHHHHHHH,"
"You know what Tuff is like with the T word, it's ok bro I got you,"
"So we have one, just get Heather to... she's at Berserker island with Windshear." Snotlout whined.
I scratched my head in thought, the attacks were still going and we were defenseless. Astrid then commanded, "Everyone retreat at the clubhouse now," The gang all ran.
"Hiccup, come on. We will plan things out once we're safe." I held her hand and we both went to the clubhouse.
"What if we ask Atali, they have bagillions on their island." Tuffnut quivered, still shaken from his trigger.
"No, too far and too long. Out only shot is to T mail Heather and hope she can come fast."
"The attack on Berserker island must have been a diversion so Windshear was out of the picture. " Astrid pointed. I looked at my friends. They were all tired. We all went through a lot and the hunters are slowly backing off, assuming that we are all either scared or dead.
"Lets get some sleep gang," Everyone chose a corner and went to sleep. Me and Astrid were sitting together in a corner.
She looked at me, "I'm sorry "
"For what?"
"You know... Firen... kiss... I didn't want to blow up the mission. If your mad or-"
I caressed her cheek, "I know it's a distraction and I'm not mad. It's just ... this needs to end, we can't fight like this forever." She sat on my lap and I held her in, "It won't because I know you will stop this. " I placed a small kiss on her head.
"So I'm still the better kisser than him right?" I joked.
"Uhh his mouth tasted like rotten fish and cheese, ohhh I nearly threw up in my mouth. "
"Hehehe, you should probably get rid of that taste." We leaned in and shared a sweet kiss on the lips.
"Goodnight Hiccup,"
"Night milady." I felt her sound asleep so I placed her on the ground and gave her my pillow. I got up and went to see the notes Firen had
As I read them I nearly chocked, "oh my thor!"
