Welcome to the next chapter! Sorry it's short, but I wanted to post something.
pinkdog16: I was wondering how I was going to add that part since it's not in the movie, and even before starting this story I really wanted to add it. So that will be towards the end of the watching by word of mouth. And ooooooh, will it be fun to write. The Heroes are definitely gonna rethink their stances. I can't wait to write it!
AvatarUzumaki: This will definitely change Mal's perspective. Whether or not something will happen to Aurora? We'll see~. Also, very funny how you mentioned Mal releasing her dark side...:)
reynardgautama: This connects to Maleficent 2 I think up to where Maleficent, Aurora and Diaval go have dinner at Philip's castle. I don't think I'm gonna do a watching of Maleficent 2 and won't make the full second movie canon at this point. Mostly because I can't have anything happen to sweet Balthazar or the blue godmother.
Fluffy: I am actually so glad you said that! I really want to do a "Watching" of life on the Isle, but I'm not really sure how people would like to read a reaction of something that isn't canon in the Descendants franchise, as in, something I wrote myself. But I really really do want to do a reaction story to something like that, and have it planned. It's just a matter of whether or not I go through with it in the end. Depends on if people would want it.
Jessie: Couldn't agree with you more. It's not fair, and Audrey really needs to chill.
Yugi the Godfather of Games: That is gonna be a mind blowing scenario for them, and will really show them how crazy Stefan was. So soon!
FrozenTangledDisney4life: I smiled so much at your review. It's stressful going so long without updating. I'm just like, "Oh my gosh I need to update already!" So reviews like yours are really appreciated, and it's nice to hear it from others who go through similar updating schedules. XD
Roxas Itsuka: Definitely! The curse removal is certain to be a point for Maleficent in the goodness book. Though bet Ariana could spin anything her way. I almost forgot how badly Leah was treated while ill! That's going to painful to write. XD Poor Leah.
miranda88: Mal needs a hug.
dragonslayerajahn: This is a very good point that I feel they don't often realize, and Maleficent was the first movie to point that out. I do like the idea of Diaval being the one to explain all that to them.
TR Lara Croft: Despite everything, Mal still defends her mother, which is a surprise. It's been a while since I've done a review answering, so you might have figured out what happened to Maleficent, but she's still chilling in his pocket. At least I think she is. She's a lizard. She could be anywhere in the room.
And thank you to all the lovely people who commented as well. I always appreciate the support. Enjoy the chapter!
The Moors were a gorgeous sight, even at night. The lake was aglow with purple pinpricks of light accentuating the pitch black of the trees they walked through and rising mountains in the distance.
The Mistress of Evil made sure she was well hidden behind a tree before letting her magic carefully lay the princess down. When Aurora awoke, it was not fear she felt at being in a new location. A smile fell upon her lips, broadening as she sat up and looked around.
"Only my wife."
"Leave her alone, Philip," Snow chided.
"Only my wife gets kidnapped and is happy," He continued defensively. "I will not leave this woman alone."
Evie and Carlos dipped their heads while their chests shook with muffled laughter, hoping the bickering couple didn't notice them.
"To be fair, I would be in awe if I wound up there too," Dizzy rested her chin on the back of her chair dreamily. "It looks beautiful."
Hatter didn't jump until after she had finished speaking when he realized where Dizzy was- right beside him sharing his daughters chair. "Hello...small child..." Alice snatched his hand to stop him from poking the oblivious girl.
"We should do a group trip," Peter suddenly remarked. "For the VK's."
Evie pursed her lips. This was going to go way off topic, she could tell. "A group trip?" Not to mention the fact that to her knowledge, the Council wasn't even fond of the idea of VK's in Auradon, let alone anywhere else. Agrabah for one had been vehemently against it.
"To the Moor's! Underland! Neverland!" The boy howled his signature call and took up to the rafters. "Y'know, since the Vk' kiddies have never been anywhere but Auradon City and the Isle. Neverland is taking Isle of The Lost kids for their breaks if they don't wanna go back."
That much was true. Hadie was one of the kids that opted for going back to the Isle for his vacations. Rather be with his father than with annoying children, or worse, his fathers side of the family. But the Moors were never once mentioned, not even for the magic kids. And he knew for a fact that Ilisebethe and Erasmuth weren't given invitations to Underland. "Is the Moors even open to the public?"
"Not unless given personal permission and supervised from the Queen of the Moors."
"I wanted to let the kingdom and the Moors integrate and become friendly once again. But we had many incidences where those would come in to attack them or kidnap for money or power."
Her attention was caught by blue lights coming across the lake to soar around her. She spun, entranced by the small creatures that flew about, something that Maleficent watched in wonder.
"Wow," She brought one close. They were like fairies, but instead of wings, a long shimmering tail.
The water nymph glanced over her shoulder. With a gasp of fright, it took off with each friend following. A blue trail of dust was left in their wake.
Aurora turned. It was near impossible to see into the darkened forest, and yet she faced it calmly. "I know you're there. Don't be afraid."
Uma snorted. "Maleficent isn't the type to be afraid of a small child."
"Mal beat her," Melody quipped before her brain could stop it. She'd never met Ursula, and she certainly didn't want to anger her spawn if her families stories were anywhere close to true. The sea witch looked back with an amused sneer. "Maleficent let her beat her."
Eric placed a hand on his daughters shoulder before she could dispute.
Maleficent chuckled. "I'm not afraid."
"Then come out," the girl offered.
"Then you'll be afraid."
"I'm afraid just listening," Hannah said.
Aurora shook her head stubbornly. "No I won't."
Maleficent ceded, walking from behind the branches. For just a moment she paused allowing only her darkened form and horns could be made out.
Being raised amongst gargoyles and a man that could scare half of France, Zephyr de Chateau prided himself on not being concerned by appearances. After all, people judged his friend without seeing what a golden heart he had. And he idolized Sarousch, who turned out to be a fraud. So he knew a thing or two about the lesson of judging by first appearances.
But he couldn't help but gulp at the Fae's form. "You wonder if Mal ever woke up to seeing that just standing there at night?"
His mother fixed him with a small glare. "Shush, Zephyr. Not the time.
"Just trying to be humorous!...Wait," The teen glanced around. "Where's Mal?" She wasn't sitting with Evie anymore. Or Ben's Parents. Or by her father's table. And speaking of which, the boy, Hadie had returned, but not Hades himself.
As if sensing his thoughts, Hadie tilted his head back at them from his seat. He wasn't so much as glaring like his mother had. But it was ominous enough that Zephyr wished he could hide. And he hadn't even said his question loud enough for the boy to hear from over there!
Phoebus noticed his sons sudden stillness and found the source it was coming from. He draped an arm over the back of his chair protectively. "We'll worry about that later. I'm sure she's somewhere fine."
She stepped into the light, where not just her horned silhouette could be seen. Aurora caught herself taking a half step back.
"I know who you are."
"Do you?"
Aurora ducked down her head knowing what was next. Diaval chuckled, patting her back unsympathetically.
She nodded with another growing smile. "You're my fairy godmother," She answered excitedly.
"The child's an idiot," Harry announced without preamble. Uma and Harriet smacked him on the back of his head without warning.
"Oww," he sneered. "What was that for?" He plucked up his fallen hat.
Uma jerked a thumb behind them to the royals table. Not like he would care, Harriet thought. That filter less dumbell.
"It alright to laugh," Aurora told them with a slight laugh herself. "That did come from out of nowhere."
"Aurora, why? Just why?"
The queen groaned, still somehow managing to keep her perfect air. "I dunno, Belle. It just made sense!"
"If she appeared instead of FG that night, I'm not sure I would have been so quick to accept a dress," Cinderella mused.
"What?" Maleficent asked after a moment of pause.
"That's my reaction," Vidia chimed.
Mal bit back a laugh for the first time since leaving her dorm rooms that morning. Never before had she ever had the chance to see her mother with so genuinely confused or taken aback.
"Fairy Godmother," the girl repeated as if she hadn't heard. "You've been watching over me my whole life. I've always known you were close by."
"How?" Hadie genuinely asked.
"The feeling of a dark ominous presence on your shoulders?" Moana guessed.
The Queen shook her head while Philip agreed with Moana. "Well..."
"A presence, yes," She explained cutting him off. "But not malicious. I'd see shadows, or something would help me out of a situation at times."
"Situations like falling off a cliff?" She ignored her mother as well. "Plus, the animals had a habit of fleeing ever so often."
"How?" The Fae asked, stepping closer.
"Your shadow. It's been following me ever since I was small. Wherever I went, your shadow was always with me."
"Shadow of a demon," Pan snorted.
CJ made to agree, but realized siding with her fathers enemy wouldn't look good. "Like how your trickster shadow has a mind of it's own somehow?" She opted for.
Pan stuck his tongue out, an idea forming in his devious head. "Heeey, trickster shadow. Not that would have been a good idea for pranking Hook." CJ paled.
Diaval glided down and landed on a branch beside her.
"I remember you," Aurora smiled. "Pretty bird."
"This is Diaval," The bird spread his wings and bowed at his introduction.
"So proper for a bird found in the wild," Melody whispered to her sister.
Mal sneered. The balcony overlooked right about their table.. Her hybrid blood gave her good hearing, and times like these she hated it, almost as much as she was disliking the merchildren's comments today.
As if she had feathers that were ruffled, Mal eased herself out, willing her body to relax from its tenseness. She didn't even know when she got so tense.
"You okay?" Hades asked, watching the whole exchange.
She balanced her hands on the railing and stared straight forward, tall. A habit Hades recognized as her mothers. And perhaps one of a queen. "I'm fine."
Aurora gasped as Maleficent morphed him from Bird to Man right in front of her. "Hello, Aurora."
She bowed her head, her delight not ceasing in the slightest.
Kristoff threw his hands up at his friends smile. "How are you so calm at this?"
"Not everyone freaks out at the slightest thing, honey," Anna told him.
Freddie tuned out him whining that transformation wasn't a slight thing. "Maybe it's just because most of the Heroes of Auradon were raised extremely naïve and pathetic?" She winced afterwards and hoped it was drowned out by Arendelle's king. She'd yet to actually sit and chat with Naveen and Tiana yet. The last thing on her mind was annoying the shiny folk or ruining anything for Celia.
Even though she was part royal herself on her grandmothers side.
"I've known you since you were a little one," Diaval grasped her hand, kissing the back before stepping back to his Mistress' side. Aurora twirled around. "It's everything I imagined it would be. It's just so beautiful," She bounded up towards Maleficent. "I've always wanted to come..."
Maleficent seemed taken aback by her exclamation. Whatever Aurora was about to say was cut by the same spell that had been cast upon her earlier.
The Auradon children winced at the sudden spell while the villain children burst out in laughter.
Eugene whistled. "Where was that spell when we had our kids were younger?"
"Hey!"
"Well maybe if you learned how to properly put your kids down for bedtime..." Philip drawled off.
"Listen here, Philip, your kids developed good sleeping habits from your wife."
"I wouldn't call sleeping for 100 years a good sleeping habit," Aurora pointed out.
A certain bird made a mildly offended noise from beside her. "It wasn't 100 years! It wasn't even 100 hours!"
Audrey thought of her elder sibling currently away at college. She would never be the queen now, Mal had ensured that. Heck, even Ariana was in line for a throne. Somewhere. But her? She couldn't help but think of that whenever she thought of her elder. But she would do without a big regal crown. Perhaps.
Contrite, Maleficent walked off, Aurora's floating form following. Each of the creatures watched curiously but did not follow, not even Diaval. Maleficent brought her back out of the Moors and back to the cottage where she gently laid her in bed. "Good night, Beasty."
Mal watched carefully, a feeling she couldn't describe bubbling in her chest and head. It wasn't until an obvious scene change to the castle that she noticed her eyes becoming a sting.
This was not how the story was supposed to go.
Here's a quick poll! I want some royals to have more relationships to each other. Specifically I want Florian Ferdinand, A.k.a, Snow White's prince to be a brother to either Cinderella's Prince Henry (Kit) or Prince Philip. If you have an opinion, by all means, give your opinions! You might just end up seeing some worked into the story.
Reasons for Henry being the elder brother: Both were called just "Prince" at first. Both were thought to have the last name "Ferdinand" in a Disneyland show. Both are brunettes(even though in Cinderella 1, it looks black). I honestly don't know why else I was thinking of Florian being related to Ella's prince, but y'know, the offer is there.
Reasons for Philip being the elder brother: In the OG script for Snow White, the Evil Queen imprisoned the Prince and told him her plans for his beloved. He later escapes and with the forest animal's help, he manages to find Snow in the glass case. It's a lot like how Maleficent trapped Philip in her dungeon. And both were sleeping curses only true love's kiss could fix! ALSO! Florian was to take Snow to his "Castle in the Clouds," and there were sketches for them to dance in a cloud scene, which was instead used for Sleeping Beauty's dance scenes years later! So Florian being a baby brother sounds sorta neat. Or even an older brother, since a lot of Philip's groundwork was based on what wasn't used for Florian.
