Glitchy arrived back at Cianwood City and headed to the Safari Zone. The Safari Zone was much father than she realised with trainers wanting to battle her on the way. She was grateful to see a Pokémon Centre at the Safari Zone which appeared to be much larger than she expected, nothing like the one back at Kanto. After healing her team she headed out to see what this new area, Safari Zone Gate, had to offer. There were four stalls alongside the Pokémon Centre as well as the building leading to the Safari Zone itself. She checked the stall closets to the Safari Zone first but the owner didn't seem to have anything for sale. The one beneath had a child singing about the Safari Zone so again nothing interesting. The next one was ran by an elderly man selling Pokémon Drinks designed to raise their stats, she decided to make a note of this stall for later. The final stall sold Air Mail, Nest Balls, Dusk Balls and Quick Balls. She left the stalls and headed to the Safari Zone itself.
Baoba greeted Glitchy inside the large building and asked if she wanted to take the Owner Aptitude Test. She decided to go ahead and try it for fun. All she had to do was catch one Geodude and bring it back to Baoba. She managed to find and catch the Geodude Baoba had asked her to do. Once the Pokémon had been caught she decided to look around the Safari Zone a little more before presenting the Geodude to Baoba. Once she had ran out of Safari Balls, she showed Baoba the Geodude he wanted her to capture only to learn it was the first test and there are actually two tests. This was something she would have liked him to tell her before she started them. The second test wasn't ready just yet and she would have to return at a later date. She had managed to catch a Murkrow whom she named Max. She left the Safari Zone and headed back to Cianwood City.
Back at Cianwood, she put Dunskan in the PC as she felt she no longer needed him in her party. She trained up Max alongside his team mates then headed to Chuck's gym to challenge him for her fifth badge. Before she could challenge him, she had to first turn off the waterfall which she did by turning a valve above Chuck. With the waterfall gone, Glitchy challenged Chuck to a battle. She sent out Max to battle against his Primeape which he took down with Wing Attack then Miles took over to take out his Poliwrath with Thunder Punch. Defeating Chuck earned her the Storm Badge along with TM01, Focus Punch. Now being able to use Fly outside of battle, and receiving the HM for Fly from Chuck's wife, she taught the move to Max then flew back to Mahogany Town.
Glitchy headed up to the Lake of Rage where she heard there was trouble with the Magikarp. She had learnt that strange radio waves were forcing the Magikarp to evolve into Gyarados. Tidus helped her across the Lake where they found a Red Gyarados. She managed to capture the unusual coloured Gyarados and named him Gatcha. She also received a Red Scale. After leaving the lake and returning to land she saw Lance with his Dragonite. Lance confirmed what Glitchy had herself discovered, that the Magikarp were being forced to evolve which may have resulted in the Red Gyarados she had just captured. He had seen how she and her team had handled themselves against the Red Gyarados and considered her to be of considerable skill. Lance requested her help with something, she didn't hesitate to agree to assist him with his investigation. He asked her to meet him in Mahogany Town then left with his Dragonite.
Just as Glitchy was to join Lance in Mahogany Town, Baoba called her to let her know the next test was ready to take. So she took a slight detour back to the Safari Zone to get it over and done with. Her second test was to catch a Sandshrew and bring it to him however they wouldn't appear in the current environment. Baoba took her to a machine that would allow her to customize the Safari Zone Areas which he called Area Customizer. She was to use it to change one zone to one that will allow her to capture a Sandshrew. She spoke to a member of staff who helped teach her how to use it properly then used the new knowledge to switch one zone for a desert zone along with a few other zones to explore. Upon presenting the captured Sandshrew she passed the test and became the new Safari Zone Owner. Despite being the new owner, Baoba asked she still pay admission but promised to find new ways to help her complete her Pokédex should she want to. She left her Safari Zone to go back to Mahogany Town.
