CHAPTER 9: NEW HOLDER.
(POV: Billster.)
As the flames surrounded us in the mysterious place, I decided to ask Blue-Spark's former wielded a question I had within my brain.
"So.." I asked "Why was your name forgotten?"
"It was never forgotten." He replied. "It didn't exist."
"Wait?" I gasped in shock. "You never had a name?"
"No, never." The former wielder replied. "For you see, I was born within a family that was stripped of their names, first and last. For they were poor and couldn't meet the tax amounts."
"How awful." I remarked.
"Yes." Agreed the first wielder. "But, my father, Hepatitis, didn't want me to be so sad. So, he'd gave me Blue-Spark, to help me find a purpose within defending my home."
"Whoa. That's neat." I then commented.
"Yes indeed." The first wielder agreed. "And since my connection with the sword was deeper than his, he had me join the fray in the battle against the dark goddess on Sodor."
My eyes widened as I then took in this new information that I never heard before.
"Dark Goddess?" I said with surprise and shock.
"Yes." The wielder replied with a stern look as he then began his story. "Long ago, during the medieval times, there were two goddess sisters who watched over the many lands. One sister was of light, and sought out to bring peace and unity between kingdoms and empires, while the other was of darkness and only wished to be the ultimate ruler of them."
He paused impressively for a moment before continuing.
"One day, the goddess of darkness granted the man known as Mordred the power to slay his enemies and strike fear to all those oppose him. Yes, there were others who became servants and slaves to the dark goddess, but Mordred was her champion. For he could not be defeated, or so that is what the goddess of light thought. When the war was getting at it's worse, the young man known as Arthur Pendragon took down the tyrant with a gold sword that was gifted to him by none other than Merlin, who was one of the few who befriended the goddess of the golden light. And so, with her, Me, and the one who wields demonic frost, we defeated the goddess of darkness, and sealed her away in a barrier that was made from the elements that we had. Forever ending her tyranny."
"Amazing!" I then Exclaimed. "Does anyone know the fate of the goddess of light by chance?"
"No-one does." The wielder replied. "For no-one has seen or heard her since the end of the massive battle."
"I see." I replied back. "But still, this history does certainly sound interesting."
"I bet it would." The wielder replied. "Now, on to business... would you be willing to take Blue-Spark as your own?"
My jaw dropped as I heard those words.
"A-as m-my o-own?!" I stammered in surprise. "Do you mean as in wield Blue-Spark as my own weapon?!"
"Of course." The wielder replied. "Unless you don't want to."
"I accept your offer!" I then replied back. "I want to help my brothers anyway I can, and ensure that they are still alive after a mission."
"Then let you use its flames to help light the darkest of hours." The wielder then said to me as he nodded. " Now arise, Billster Billinton. New wielder of Blue-Spark."
As a light flashed across the room, I then suddenly found myself back in the chamber of flames.
(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)
Some time before Billster had woken up, the knights that Timothy had been fighting, found a chance to dash towards the temple's entrance. Apparently, they had the medallion with them and so they had access to the structure. Fortunately, Timothy spotted this, and promptly darted after them inside before the door closed. Unfortunately however, the 19 year old in sliver would not be able to catch up to them, due to the knights having a speed enhancement. As Billster then opened his eyes, he could hear the sound of running footsteps getting closer and closer towards his location. Knowing that it could either be the enemy or his allies, Billster grabbed the handle on the blue sword, and drew it out of it's resting place. The flames of the torches flickered intensely as the enemy knights then entered into the chamber of flames.
"Hand over that sword to us!" The leading one barked. "It's the property of his majesty, king Mordred."
Billster scowled as he gripped the handle tightly. He clearly looked as if he was not willing to hand it off.
"This sword is my own! I will NOT give it to a false king who is tyrannical!"
"You dare insult our master?!" The knight exclaimed.
"You dare to be insolent and oblivious to Mordred's actions?!" Billster asked back in retort. "You dare to serve someone who will use his power to bring this world into ruin?"
The knights stepped back in frustration as they got ready to draw their swords.
"What utter nonsense you speak! You know NOTHING on the greatness that our master has! You will pay in blood for insulting him."
Billster just scoffed, as he then turned around to reveal his eyes emitting blue flames from them. Then without another word, Billster stabbed his sword into the ground, and glared at the enemy knights as he said the command for his next spell.
"Elemental Release."
A blue sigil appeared underneath Billster and the blade of his new sword then transformed into blue flames. As the flames roared forward, they engulfed and consumed the lackeys of Mordred, burning them, until nothing but ashes remained. As Billster then sheathed his sword, Timothy finally arrived, shocked and amazed that his brother was alright.
"Did you drive those knights off all by yourself?"
"No." Billster replied. "I burned them."
Timothy looked to the floor and hissed as he saw the ashes.
"Ooh... That sword is powerful alright."
"That it is." Billster replied. "But I'll only use it's elemental release when I really need to."
"Good." Timothy replied with a slight shudder. "Now we better hurry back outside. Thomas and Lady may need us."
As Billster then nodded, he followed Timothy out of the temple and over toward where Thomas and Lady were. However, as they assisted them no-one had noticed a slender shadowy feminine figure, watching on from afar; smiling slyly as she looked at Lady.
"So you have not one, but two allies with legendary weapons, sister. An impressive feat indeed, but still won't be enough to prevent the days to come."
As the figure then quietly giggled, she turned heel and disappeared in the shadows of the night.
(To be concluded...)
