9. Obi-Wan and Satine
"Obi-Wan, it's not necessary for you to look after me after the attack. "Duchess Satine Kryze protested. "I have my guards, and I can handle myself, thank you very much."
"It's no trouble, my darling." said Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight. He whipped out his commlink. "Cody, I'll be gone for a night."
"Yessir."Marshall Commander Cody replied. Gossip pitter-pattered behind him, probably Boil and Waxer theorizing, per usual."Anything else?"
"No. Just keep the boys in line."
"Yessir."Cody replied, and signed off. For the brief moment before he turned off his commlink, Obi-Wan heard cheers. The 212th would probably go party with the 501st.
"Ready to go?" Satine asked.
"Always." Obi-Wan replied.
They hopped into the speeder, Satine purposely looked away from him. Ordinarly, Obi-Wan would try to start a conversation, but NOTHING compared to the wraith of a Mandalorian woman; no matter how much she claimed to be a pacifist. But, for some random reason, Obi-Wan craved hot chocolate. The speeder pulled in front of Satine's residence. It was an elegant building, in the New Mandalorian style. Obi-Wan got out of the speeder. He offered his hand to help Satine out of the speeder, but she refused it, naturally. Obi-Wan followed behind her when they entered, gaining stares from the Mandalorian Royal Guards. He shifted uncomfortably, their gazes unsettling.
They entered a spacious room, a plush, big sofa on one side, a small kitchen on the other. On the side with the sofa, a large thin-screen tevis(T-V), was pinned up on the wall.
"Impressed? I bet it's better than your dear Jedi Temple." Satine said, setting down her bag.
"Sattieā¦"He started.
"DON"T call me 'Sattie'!"She snapped."That is over."Satine sat down on the sofa.
Obi-Wan quickly edged his way over to the kitchen.
Satine looked at him and asked"What are you doing?"
"I was...um...going to make you some hot chocolate?!"Obi-Wan stammered.
"Fine."Satine grumbled, but a smile played out on her face."Top shelf, left cabinet. Milk's in the fridge."
Obi-Wan made the best mug of hot chocolate he possibly could, smothering the top with a spiral of whip cream and a smattering of cinnamon on the top. He made a cup for himself, but with no cinnamon. Cinnamon was a sith-y spice, meaning he didn't like it. It was just...weird. And a medic in the 212th, Obi-Wan was pretty sure his name was Orion, had said that a type of cinnamon could give you heart problems. But that was in large doses.
"Thanks."Satine said as he sat beside her on the sofa."What should we do, now that I'm all safe." She dropped her disdain of him, snuggling against Obi-Wan.
"Hmm. Is it just me, or is it a bit chilly?"Obi-Wan asked, a tiny shiver rang through him.
Satine laughed."We have powerful A.C.s."
Obi-Wan took a sip of his hot chocolate. He then used the Force to take a fluffy blanket out of an ornate basket, and draped it over Satine and him.
Her head dropped against his shoulder.
"How about we just sit here. It's nice" Satine murmured. She sipped her hot chocolate, then looked at him. Satine laughed.
"What."Obi-Wan asked. Was it something I did? He wondered.
"Your beard! It's full of whip cream!"She giggled.
Obi-Wan felt his mustache. Whip cream was piled on his finger. It was so ridiculous, that Obi-Wan couldn't help but laugh along with Satine. They both laughed so hard that they both nearly spilled all of the delicious hot chocolate on the blanket.
Kriff the war, kriff everything! Obi-Wan didn't need the jedi order, he had Satine's love to keep him warm.
