POKEMON: LET'S GO

Episode 10: What's Wrong With Caterpie?

"Chase has finally won his first Gym Badge after defeating Brock in a rematch. Riley has also joined the group in their journey and now, they are moving ahead on their way."

The group has stopped to have a look at the map to figure out their next destination. Elaine holds out the map as the others watch it. Riley suggests going to the Cerulean City, which hosts a Gym. Chase gets excited to go, but Elaine asks him to stop to have lunch. He agrees, but asks Riley to have a practice match till the lunch is prepared, wanting to see Growlithe's strength. Riley agrees to it happily as they take positions to battle. Chase goes on with Pikachu and Riley calls out Growlithe.

Elsewhere, Team Rocket wanders, troubled by hunger. James regrets having spent all the money in repairing their balloon. Jessie fantasies being in a five star hotel and being able to eat the mouth watering meals served to her. Meowth imagines being able to eat the best sandwiches in the world. James pulls them out of their fantasy as he spots a Pokemon Center. Meowth praises their good luck as he suggests sneaking into the Pokemon Center to get good food as well as Pokemon.

Back to group, Riley and Chase begin their practice match. Chase has Pikachu use Thunderbolt, but Growlithe easily dodges and attacks with a Bite attack. Pikachu dodges and fires another Thunderbolt. Growlithe uses Flamethrower and both the moves clash, generating a big dust cloud. Pikachu uses Quick Attack to gain speed. Riley predicts Chase's next move and asks Growlithe to be ready. As Pikachu closes in Chase commands for an Iron Tail. Riley has Growlithe jump on the last moment dodging the attack, surprising both Chase and Pikachu. Growlithe uses Flamethrower that lands a direct hit on Pikachu. He quickly gets up and prepares a Thunderbolt, but Elaine calls them, having prepared the lunch. Reluctantly, Chase calls off the match. As Elaine serves food to the Pokemon, Chase asks Riley how was he prepared for the Iron Tail. He explains that he saw it being used against Brock and thus, was prepared for it. He advises Chase to keep changing his strategies to prevent being predictable. Elaine serves a lot of food and calls out Caterpie, but, it refuses to eat. Everyone is surprised by its unusual behaviour. Elaine thinks that Caterpie is sick and resolves to visit a Pokemon Center. Riley asks her for the map and looks at it to find a Pokemon Center nearby. The group quickly moves on.

Team Rocket, who had already sneaked in and finished eating the food stored in the kitchen, now begins their quest for the Pokemon. Coincidentally, the group arrives at the same Pokemon Center to heal Caterpie. Elaine tells Nurse Joy about Caterpie not eating as usual. However, she tells them that it is a natural Caterpie behaviour that indicates that Caterpie is about to evolve. Elaine gets excited as she has never seen any Pokemon evolving.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket finds the room where Pokemon are kept for healing. They quickly start putting all the Pokemon in bags. Back to the group, Nurse Joy proposes Elaine to leave her Caterpie for few hours to rest in the Pokemon Center. She agrees and hands over her Caterpie's Pokeball. Nurse Joy further gives it to Chansey to keep it into the Pokemon healing room. She takes it and walks towards the room. As she enters, she finds Team Rocket trying to escape with all the Pokeballs. Team Rocket binds her and puts her into a bag, but the group and Nurse Joy arrive there timely upon hearing Chansey scream. Team Rocket introduce themselves by reciting their motto before James sends his Koffing using Smokescreen. Chase sends out Pidgey, but it is scared off by Jessie's Ekans. Before escaping in their balloon, Team Rocket also captures Pikachu, Eevee and Growlithe.

Team Rocket lands at a clearing in the forest. They keep Piakchu, Growlithe, Chansey and Eevee in a strong glass cage. They count the Pokeballs they have stolen from the Pokemon Center, which turns out to be 150. Extremely glad of their success, they discuss what they will do with the money they will get after gifting all the Pokemon to the their BOSS. James thinks of buying an island, while Jessie suggest building a big mansion on it, with dozens of servants. She then thinks of keeping some of the Pokemon for themselves rather than sending all to their BOSS. Accidentally, Meowth opens a Pokeball, releasing a Caterpie. It is soon recognized by them as Elaine's Caterpie. However, they are surprised by its unusually calm behaviour. Meowth tries to communicate with it, but it ignore him and doesn't answer. Meowth feels insulted and tries using Fury Swipes on it, but Ekans and Koffing stop him.

Meanwhile, Pidgey spots the Meowth Balloon and returns to the group to inform them. The group leaves Nurse Joy back at Pokemon Center and themselves follow Pidgey to Team Rocket. They hide behind a bush, and think of freeing Piakchu and other locked in the cage. Elaine spots Caterpie out of its Pokeball and comes up with a plan. Jessie tries calling Caterpie back to its Pokeball, but Elaine reveals herself and commands Caterpie to use String Shot on Team Rocket to bind them. But, her plan seems to fail as Caterpie does not move. Jessie has Ekans use Poison Sting on Elaine, however, Caterpie comes forth and takes the attack. Elaine goes to Caterpie but it starts emitting bright light and evolves into a Metapod. Elaine scans her Pokedex for it to know that Metapod's thick exoskeleton provides it high durability and it can use Harden, a defence boosting move. Ekans and Koffing use Poison Sting and Sludge respectively, but Metapod uses Harden before taking and ensuring both attacks. Meowth spots Riley and Cahse freeing the Pokemon kept in the cage, but is too late. As their attention is diverted, Metapod uses String Shot to tie up Team Rocket and their Pokemon. Pikachu uses a powerful Thunderbolt that blasts them off. Elaine happily hugs her newly evolved Metapod, before the group takes all the Pokeballs back to the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy expresses her gratitude towards them for saving the Pokemon. However, Chase remembers they have not had the lunch yet, so Nurse Joy invited them for free lunch at the Pokemon Center as the episode ends.
