A/N: FIFTEEN DAYS TO CHRISTMAS PEEPS! WHOOP WHOOP and Christmas shopping is somehow stressful even with a lockdown. Too many people. XD Or maybe I'm addicted to my hermit hole. Who knows XDDD Anyway, here we go again. :D
Anakin watched his padawan slump beside him in the speeder.
"What?"
"I don't know what to get the boys. Obviously it's really difficult to buy for them separately, and I got them all socks last year, and they're ten kriffing years old.
Anakin laughed. "Well, when you put it that way..."
"Exactly! And they have winter gear, it comes with their stuff, and they don't need anything, really-"
"Snips, calm down."
"I am calm. You calm down."
Anakin smiled, turning his eyes back to the traffic lanes.
"Don't you ever stress about what to get for people you care about?!"
"No. I just get Obi-Wan tea and he's good to go."
"Aargh." Ahsoka growled, then leaned back again.
"So, do you have any ideas, or are we just looking around until we find something?"
"I don't know!"
"Okay, cool it. That's fine."
Ahsoka stuck her tongue out at him, crossing her arms.
"So, where to first?"
"I dunno. You're driving."
"Alright. Um... wanna try... oh Force, now that I think about it..."
"Right."
"You could get them flashlights. All the ones they had are gone."
"What happened?"
"They got hit by rocks."
She rolled her eyes. "Oh Force. Say we did, what w-"
"Did what? Got hit by rocks? Cause that is the less stressful option right now."
"Will you work with me here?"
"Okay."
"Thank you." Ahsoka looked into a shop. "So where would we get enough flashlights for them all?"
Anakin looked like he was about to say something, then paused.
"What?"
"I just had a really stupid idea."
Ahsoka rolled her eyes. "Okay." She hopped out of the speeder.
He followed, nodding to the shopkeeper. If they bought anything for the boys, he was gonna have a time of it.
Anakin led her into the shop, smiling down at her. "Wanna hear it?"
"Sure." she replied absentmindedly, grabbing a box of flashlights. "How many are in here... one, two, six..."
Shrugging, he turned to inspect the nearby shelves. "I think that's all, Snips."
"Karking darn stang!" she cursed quietly.
Anakin put a hand on her shoulder. "Here, lemme ask..." He looked around for the shopkeeper, then waved him over. "Here."
The Twi'lek, Rol, came and smiled at the two. "What do you need?"
Ahsoka looked up at him. "I'm looking for a lot of flashlights. For my friends."
He stroked a nonexistent beard, reminding her of Obi-Wan. She let out a small giggle, and he apparently heard it.
"What's so funny?" he asked jokingly, smiling as she laughed more openly.
"I think we can find something, little one."
They walked to the back, and the light blue Twi'lek disappeared for a moment.
Ahsoka looked up at Anakin. "He reminds me of Master Kenobi."
"Huh. Interesting comparison." Anakin laughed.
The shopkeeper came back out from the back, carrying a large box. "How many will you need?"
Ahsoka opened the box with one hand, then looked up at Rol. "I'll take them all."
Rol laughed, carefully handing the box over. "You sure?"
She nodded, struggling to hold the box. "Yup."
"Ah, do I need to- do you want me to-"
"Here- Skyguy, take it-" she handed the older Jedi the box with a sigh. "Okay, those darn things are heavy. How much do you want for all these?"
"Ah. Let's see. How about thirty credits for the box?"
Ahsoka looked up in surprise. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Unless that's too much."
"No, no, I'd pay more, are you sure that's all you want?" she asked, handing him the thirty credits.
"Yeah. It's all good, kid."
Ahsoka smiled up at Rol. "Thank you so much."
He gave her a two-fingered salute. "Anytime. Hope you -and your friends- have a great Life Day."
Smiling widely, she saluted the way Rex had taught her. "You too."
Anakin nodded to her. "Okay. Come on." he said quietly, then nodded appreciatively towards Rol.
"He is sooooooo nice!" Ahsoka said happily, skipping down the sidewalk.
"He is."
"Do you think the boys will like them?"
"I'm sure they'd love anything you got them, Snips."
She pouted. "You always say that."
Anakin laughed, depositing the box in the back of the speeder. "I say it because it's true."
She offered a small smile, then reached across the seats to hug him.
He hugged her back, chuckling. "What was that for?"
"I just needed to hug somebody."
