Harry had watched from the sidelines as best friend had an episode. He watched Karlito's body jerk and twist, unable to help him at all. Hermione, with her intelligence and wherewithal, helped Karlito to her greatest ability. She gave him breath while Harry panicked all his away. He needed a place to vent his anger.
After seeing Karlito sleeping at the infirmary, Harry and Ron trekked out into the school. Harry occasionally punched a wall here and there. They went to the dining hall so Ron could eat, the prefect's bathroom to take a bath, and some empty classrooms so that they could sleep around. They found some impressive rooms, like one with emeralds and another with a pool bigger than the Dursley's house.
Harry wished Karlito were there. Sure, he had fun with Ron, but Karlito and he were just close. Hermione would do, too. She would ridicule him and tell him off, but at the end of the day, she would have fun too. Ron was brash and did anything Harry did. He wasn't himself, just trying to be someone he thought Harry Potter would like.
Harry ignored it for now. One day, he would tell Ron off if he got angry enough.
Around two, they went back to the infirmity to check up on Karlito. They saw him and Hermione laughing over a plate of cheese and crackers. Harry hopped on the end of the bed as Ron sat in the closest seat. "Can I get a cracker?" "Sure, Harry. What's up Ron? How have you two been?" "Your asking us, didn't you just suffer a serizure-" Hermione wasn't quick enough to close Ron's mouth, since she was under the covers. "Nah, your wrong, Ron. Isn't he, Hermione?" "Yeah. Of course." Ron got the message and shut up, but Karlito could feel the awkward tension. "Your kidding, right?" "Well..." "Ok, I get why you didn't tell me. I would've freaked out, right?" "Are you?" "A little, but it's not like something I can't control." Harry looked at the boy. He was always happy and excited, looking towards the good side. Harry could only wish to be as cool as the boy.
Ron looked up and spoke in a small voice. "My m and dad are on the way, and there is something I have to tell you." "What is it, Ron?" Hermione asked. "Well... Thedemigodsarestayingatmyhouse." Karlito frowned. "What? Please don't tell me that you said...the demigods are staying at your house!" Hermione shrieked. "You said they were staying at the school!" "Well, they were only here because Thalia was in bad shape and the didn't have a place to go to. I was the only one around. And...um, Annabeth told me that it was my fault that she got hurt and I should let them stay. This was a couple of days ago." "And what else?" "I mailed my mother, and she said the more the merrier at Christmas. Annabeth made me add that they didn't have a home, and my mom was completely sold." "Anything else?" "Annabeth made me swear not to tell my mom, or she'd kick my into next week."
"Ron, you could've just refused." Karlito said. "They couldn't harm you anyway. You could just tell Dumbledore or at least McGonagall." "Um...she kissed me on the cheek, so I had to." Karlito slumped down, Harry slapped his head, and Hermione giggled a little. Harry frowned. "You sold us for a kiss on the cheek..."
"Sorry?"
Soon, it was time to go. Ron's parents pulled around in a long game with over a dozen seats. Karlito elected to get in first and he made his way to the back. Harry was slightly forced to sit in the front to talk to Mr. Weasley, and Hermione was las tin line. Karlito went into the car, going to the back row and sitting next to the left window.
Jason came and sat with a space between them. Hermione came and filled that space. In front of them was Percy, Annabeth, Thalia. In front of them was Harry, Ron and Mrs. Weasley. In front of them, Mr. Weasley drove the van. They lifted off into the sky.
In the first five minutes, Karlito fell asleep.
Hermione watched him peculiarity. "Jason, scoot over some." "Why?" "Karlito needs room, in case..." Jason frowned. "You shouldn't worry about him so much. I'm not sure he would like it." "Oh, like you care. Your sister tried to kill him." "It seemed the only way around." "You think so? Your sister broke him. She changed his personality. She's the reason why he has these episodes. And she hasn't apologized." Jason decided to shut up. Mrs. Weasley handed out some popcorn, to which everyone said yes. Hermione laid Karlito's down between her legs.
Jason was looking at the friendly love to which she used to take care of him. Wiping his mouth, and fixing his collar. It was five minutes later when Karlito woke up and grab onto her body. "Mione..." Karlito couldn't catch his breath.
"What, Karlito?" "Harry..." "What about him?" "He's...in trouble..." Karlito fell back asleep. Harry heard the omen and turned around. "Tell him I'm olay-" Harry was cut off as the van started to tilt. Karlito shook more and more, until he was in a red grade seizure. Hermione held onto his body as Jason hopped up to make room.
Karlito lay on the seats, experiencing his second seizure in three hours. He was foaming this time. Hermione put her finger in his mouth, to open up his airway. Karlito couldn't control it. He could hear the screaming of Hermione. He couldn't stop, and it just kept going. Mrs. Weasley had slowed down the van in midair. Mr. Weasley was advising tips to Hermione. She wasn't listening. Finally, Karlito stopped shaking. His eyes became focused and his arms weren't as stiff.
Hermione didn't sit him up, just rolled him to the side. "Just breathe, Karlito." Karlito did as he was told. Soon, he was sitting up, just breathing as hard as possible. "Dang. Didn't think it would happen so fast." Karlito looked at Hermione, who was shedding millions of tears. Jason and Percy wouldn't look at him Annabeth was crying, and Thalia was trying not to. Karlito couldn't see anyone else.
Karlito coughed. "Water? My mouth is so dry. And I'm really hungry. Super hungry." Hermione passed him some water and guided it to his mouth. He was still shaking. "Why are you crying, Mione?" "Just...nothing! You're a blasted idiot!" She pulled him in tight for a hug.
The scene was too adorable.
Mr. Weasley started to fly again, speeding to get them home. Karlito tilted his head to Hermione's shoulder. "Ya know, Mione, I think I need a doctor." "Really know? How can you be some calm." "I've seen a homeless man have endless strokes, but me and Bean were the only people who could take care of him. He didn't have medicare, as many of us homeless people don't, so he couldn't go to the doctor and get treated. It would cost thousands of dollars. So, I conjured medicine and the like. Last time I saw him, he was living with his daughter on the South side of Wales. He didn't have anyone. I have you and Harry. I'm grateful."
That resonated with the demigods. Karlito, or Harry and Hermione for that fact, were normal, everyday wizards.
They got home in some time. They got out, the energy was still silent. Karlito was the only one cracking jokes. "Why did the ham cross the road?" "Why?" "The pig was before him!" No one had the energy to laugh.
Karlito was banished to bed until dinner once they got into the house. He wasn't happy about the decision, but Bean was there. in his room. "Angelina!" "Karlito!" Karlito ran and picked up the girl. They played on the bed, then on the ground. They were soon tired. Karlito perked up. "How long until dinner?" "Three more hours." "Well, let's play some chess."
They played for an hour before Karlito got an knock on the door. "Hey, Thalia." The girl peeked in, looking as Karlito played with the girl in his lap. "This must be Bean?" "The one and only. Say hello." "Hey. I'm Bean." "Hey. Um, Bean, you both are wanted downstairs." Karlito nodded as the uncomfortable girl left.
She sounded so bitter.
Karlito put on his shoes and walked with Bean down the stairs. They sat at the table. "Bean, meet my friends." "Okay." Karlito started in order from left to right. "The boy with the glasses is Harry. The cute girl with frizzy hair is Hermione." Bean smiled. "You call her cute?" "Almost as cute as you. The girl beside her with blonde hair is Annabeth. The girl with black hair is Thalia, and the boys are Percy and Jason."
Bean said hey to each one of them. They soon smelled dinner being done, so they headed to the table. Karlito sat beside Bean, in front of Harry. Hermione was on his right. He figured it would be a short while before they asked him about his dream and... conditions. Jason, who sat beside Ginny, raised his hand and spoke. "We...we would like to know what you dreamed about. Both times."
Karlito smiled. "Ain't Karma a b-" "Language, Karlito." "K, Mione. A pain. Karma is pain. You wouldn't tell us something that would help us, and yet you want us to do the contrary?" "Sorry, it seems a bit harsh, but you already know, so no harm done?" It sounded more like a suggestion.
"No, but I guess I'll let you in. My very first dream was of my parents' death." That sent shockwaves through the table. Bean looked up from her potato salad. "You know your parents?" "Yeah, but there were murdered by Voldemort." "Who is Voldemort?" "Well, Voldemort... Voldemort... Voldemort is a snake like man-" "Shush! Karlito, names hold power!" "And quietness holds fear. And I don't fear a coward who would try to kill two babies."
Karlito meant Harry and he.
"Anyways, it was a cold day, the Voldemort came into my house, and killed my dad. My mom had come back from safety to assist him, but he had already gone to the other side. She made a repulsive spell that would kill him if he tried to do me in, and it worked. Kinda. He survived, got healed, and went for Harry. Then, he got injured. God knows where he is right now."
"And your other ones?" Annabeth asked. "Well, in one, his apprentice-" Karlito's head darted over to Arthur. "Your brother...was he Voldemort's apprentice?" "Umm..." The man was sweating bullets. Karlito took that as a yes. "Augustus Weasley. He had messed up and gotten captured. He planted bombs and the like, then Voldemort came in. He used a little bit of aura to crush a man, then left another one as a witness per Augustus. Then, I saw Harry's house, and he went in there and the scene happened."
Everyone was in shoots over the dreams. Karlito spoke up. "Let's see if you'll play fair. Why does this matter to your... mission?" "Well," Jason began. "We have speculation to believe that...someone very close to you is going to try to.... steal something very valuable for a specific someone."
Karlito poked his head up. "Is it the Sor-" Annabeth silenced him with a spell. "Don't discuss it in public."
Karlito frowned. "My question is, what is your real mission here? Why? Why come across the ocean for seven years, leave your families for this? What if this is all for nothing? I believe that you have some secrets bigger than the giant that attacked Hermione."
"That we do, my friend." Percy stood up and walked over to Karlito. "May I make a pact? We'll tell you everything, good, bad, or ugly. As long as you do the same." Karlito stood up.
"Of course." They shook hands. "Mrs. Weasley." Karlito called. "Yes, darling?" "May I have the living room prepared for a long, long meeting?" "May I ask why?" "Of course. We need to talk about how we are going to collaborate to save Hogwarts."
A/N: Next chapter gonna be as long as my head, just wait.
