Episode 10

"We rented a cargo ship for this episode. Really?" Akutagawa deadpans. "Why not just make a set?"

"Background noise." Mori grins.

Chuuya walks onto the set and pukes, then passes out.

"CUT! Did Chuuya stay up all night drinking again?!"

Dazai punches Chuuya. Something snaps. Chuuya cries out.

"Cut! What happened?"

"I think…my rib's broken…" Chuuya gasps out.

"Get me Yosano!"

Dazai and Chuuya face each other. Dazai opens his mouth and Gin pulls out a phone in preparation.

"Damn, you're short." He cracks.

Chuuya rushes him and kicks him in the face. Dazai's yelp is cut off when Chuuya buries his fist into the man's nose. "I am not SHORT!" He snarls.

Mori grimaces. "Call the first-aid department. We've got a bleeder here!"

"Damn, Dazai is like a tactics dude in this episode." Tachihara says in awe.

"I know…" Naomi breathes. "He's not like this in the normal parts of the show."

"The walk and talk like a rich girl part was unnecessary, Mori." Chuuya snarls.

Mori grins. "It was funny."

The rest of the cast watch Mori get chased around by Chuuya, who is holding a table. Elise is sitting off to one side, laughing.

"Should we…do something?" Atsushi ventures.

Ranpo snorts. "Nah."

"But Chuuya will kill him."

"He wouldn't. Mori writes the paychecks." The detective pointed out.

"Fair point." Atsushi returns to watching the carnage.

The makeup artist starts painting Atsushi with fake blood. "And there. Now, you're going to be injured in this fight, so we'll put fake blood bags under your clothes here."

"Don't bother. Real blood works fine."

Akutagawa gapes. "You want me to injure you on purpose?"

"Only for the minor wounds."

Mori tuts. "We make a point of not doing that unless absolutely necessary, Atsushi, so deal with the blood bags."

"Fine…but they itch."

"So my character lived in the slums?" Akutagawa asks.

"Yep."

"Well that's not at all what happened. I had a normal family until the house fire when I was sixteen, then I had foster homes."

Atsushi looks off into the distance. "Lucky you."

"You're trying to die, aren't you?" Akutagawa monotones.

Kyouka breaks her pained façade to snort. "Who do I look like, Dazai?"

"Good one." The man smirks.

"CUT! But nice line, Kyouka."

"You're quite the talker today."

"I don't recall ever identifying myself as a mute."

Kyouka giggles from her position on the boat.

"CUT! Kyouka!"

"Sorry, it's funny!"

"Kyouka. Unconscious people don't talk."

"I know, I know."

Atsushi looks at the script. "What is this, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?" He scoffs.

"Elise made me watch it." Mori admits. "And it works for this scene."

"You're gonna get sued."

"This screams "Abusive relationship" right? It's not just me?" Dazai says during the flashback.

Akutagawa spits out fake blood. "It's not just you." He replies.

Tachihara and Atsushi watch from the side. "Definitely not just you." The ginger adds. "This is screaming for me to call CPS."

"Worse than almost any beating I've ever gotten." Atsushi puts in. "So yeah."

And there we go again.
