Hey everybody! I am back with the next chapter. I am trying my best to keep my promise to update daily, but you people also keep your promise to review after reading every chapter. Ayway, here comes the proposal! Or does it not?
PERCY
He had been hiding in the boys' washroom after he had managed to sneak the note into her bag. He walked out as soon as Jason rung his phone.
"Where'd she go?" he asked Jason. He pointed towards the parking.
"Damn it!" Percy cursed (remember 'dam'?), "She won't come, will she?"
"Relax" Jason placed his hands on Percy's shoulders, "She'll come." He looked at Percy in an assuring manner.
"Yeah" Percy spoke confidently. "She'll come. And I will be confident" he exhaled a deep breath.
"Now go and rock it, bro" Jason said and Percy turned and started to walk. Towards the backyard of the college. There will be no one. Just me and Reyna. And I'll propose her.
He reached the backyard before her. Thank gods! He didn't want to be late. He checked himself. He looked okay. He went on and stood near a bench. He made sure that the bench was clean.
He sat there, waiting for her to come. The sun was hugging the horizon and the gloom was rising. It was as romantic as it could get. Now it's all up to you, Percy.
He inhaled a deep breath. You can do it, Percy. Keep calm. He exhaled. He hadn't removed his pendant. He had reserved it for this very kiss. Assuming she lets me kiss her.
He had waited long and hard for the girl. For his girl. For Reyna. I shouldn't get too cheesy. He clutched at his pendant strongly. He hoped for the best, but he would respect whatever decision Reyna would take.
His eyes went to the birds soaring high in the dusk. They made a sound which was neither pleasant nor unpleasant. Why am I even noticing all this? He had the nerve to smile. That was him. Percy.
After nearly five minutes, he heard footsteps behind him. And then just like that, Reyna was there. Standing beside the bench. Smiling. She has some serious bust. He noticed. But the most amazing thing was her smile. Which showed all her glimmering teeth.
"Hey Percy" Reyna said. She was looking beautiful as ever.
"Hello Reyna" he lost the control over his tongue. His body wasn't his anymore. He was too busy admiring her beauty.
"You mind if I sit?" she pointed to the place beside him.
"Oh" Stupid Percy! "No. never. Please sit." she sat down. She didn't meet his eyes. He looked straight towards the vastness of the orange sky in front of him.
She also kept her gaze concentrated at the horizon. She didn't speak anything for nearly five minutes. It was after that she spoke, "I knew it must be you" she didn't avert her gaze, but Percy knew she was talking to him, which was bit obvious considering the fact that they both were the only ones over there.
"Yeah" he replied sheepishly. What's happening to me? He was never like this around girls.
"So…" she said hopefully, "You wanted to speak something?" she changed her line of sight and directed it upon Percy.
"Yeah" he replied like a dumbass.
"So?" she urged him, "What is it?"
"Uh" he changed his position such that now he was facing Reyna. "I did want to say something to you."
"Gee" she said sarcastically, "I would have never figured that out"
"Uh" he didn't have anything to say. His tongue was as if tied in knots. Speak something, you idiot!
Reyna smiled. "Why are you smiling?" he asked her.
"It's nothing" Reyna replied, hiding her smile. She continued to stare at the vastness before her.
"So now you are making fun of me" Percy complained, she smiled even more, "Do you mind facing me, Reyna?" he blurted out.
Reyna immediately obliged and turned and faced him. Now their eyes locked into each other. Shining black pearls sinking into the deep sea green. It was as if Percy's heart had stopped beating for a moment or two.
"I am facing you now" Reyna said, "Say what you have to say" Does she know what I am trying to say? How can she? She can't, right? Or can she?
"Okay then" Percy took a deep breath, locked his eyes into Reyna's once more, and spoke, "I have been wanting to tell you this since the first time I saw you."
She kept the eye contact and listened to him sincerely, "That day in the after game bash, I couldn't think about anything but you after I saw you."
"Good to know" she commented teasingly, but he kept his index finger on her lips and she quieted down, "Listen to me first" he told her in a soft whisper. She nodded and he remover his finger. (He didn't want to)
"I had been wanting to meet you after that and that day you met me. It was one of the best evenings of my life. And then after that every day when you used to sit with us during lunch, I used to stare at you."
"At me or at my breast?" she commented once again. Percy reddened at the cheeky comment, "Yes, I am sorry about that, but- hey! That's not the topic, lemme say what I want to say." He managed.
After that he continued once again, "then yesterday at the dinner, you were wearing that black sleeveless dress of yours, I wanted to do nothing but stay with you there till the end of times.' She was about to say something, but whatever it had been, she stopped herself and Percy continued.
"I hope you must be knowing my tradition about my pendant" when she nodded, he continued. "I remove it every time, but not this time" his voice was dripping with seriousness.
"I don't want to waste any more time in saying this , Reyna" he looked her dead in those black eyes, "I lo-"
"Shhh" he was cut short by Reyna's finger on his lips. It was nothing but a whisper. A voice full of affection.
"No need to say the 'L' world" and she leaned in. And their lips met. The kiss was just like all the other ones that he had had before, but was completely different. There wasn't lust in this one. There was love. His tongue explored her mouth as hers did the same.
She is a really good kisser, Percy put his hand into her hair and pulled her closer, increasing the heat. How I love her.
ANNABETH
She had asked Jason where she would find Percy. Jason had been reluctant to tell her about it at first, but had told her afterwards.
"But please don't go there for the next fifteen minutes at least" he had begged her. A queer request it had been, but she had kept her promise.
Nearly twenty minutes had passed after that. And now she was walking towards the backyard. She had Percy's hoodie in her hand. She was planning on returning it to him and heading back home.
But the scene that was there before her eyes when she reached the backyard, was something which made death look sweeter.
Percy was kissing Reyna! Relax Annabeth, she told her soul, it might be just another one of his hook-ups. But then something in Percy's neck reflected due to the setting sun's rays.
Percy's pendant! She realized. Completely shattered. He had reserved it for his perfect girl. She had expected to be the one to share that kiss with him. The kiss in which he wouldn't remove his pendant. No! No! No! This can't be happening.
Annabeth Chase turned her back to the scene and started running. Her eyes flowing free of tears. She did no effort to stop them. Let them flow. Oh! How I hate myself.
Okay! What do you think will happen next? I guess now you all must have got to know that the story's a Pereyna. It's fun to write about it, you know, but frankly speaking, I personally like Percabeth more.
What do you people want? Percabeth or Pereyna? Review and tell me. I am always open to suggestions.
The next chapter will be out as soon as possible, till then, Stay Home, Stay Safe and Keep Reading.
