1 week passed when Shiho lost contact to Heiji. She changed her number so he can't call nor text her and she didn't go outside either. Heiji is working on Singapore that's why he can't visit in the Kudo Mansion and ask Shiho what's wrong. Shiho still cook foods for Shinichi but Shinichi didn't even bother to eat them. After cooking she just isolate herself in her room doing nothing.

Shinichi concurrently enjoying this scene where Shiho is isolating in her room. He enjoy seeing her sad. No ally, No friend that can listen on what she felt. Just no one in her side. He think she deserves that, feeling alone and empty. He wants her to feel what he had felt when he lost his wife. Hatred and anger are what he felt for Shiho because she sent a bad luck gift in his wedding day, if only she didn't do it maybe his wife is still alive and they're living happily together.

Shinichi went outside and go to his favorite bar. He is sitting in the chair and order some alcoholic drinks.

"Yo Kudo!" A familiar voice calls him.

He see Nicholas, he's half American and half Japanese. He's a trouble maker and always got Shinichi's back when he's into fights. They become friends when Ran died.

He sit down alongside him. Shinichi looks at him and smiled.

"Hey!" Said Shinichi.

"Are you gonna welcome New Year here?" He asked.

"I don't really know." He said.

"I think I'd like to stay in my house." He added.

"that's new to you dude!" Nicholas smiled.

"I'll stay in my house too if I have a fine lady staying in my place." Nicholas smirked.

'Oh he must be talking about Her.' his thoughts.

"I saw her yesterday, throwing garbage bag outside your mansion dude. Who's that chick?" Asked Nicholas.

"She's my s*x slave. She doesn't have a place to go so she begged she will do anything if I let her stay in." He smirked.

"Damn! What a lucky man!"

Meanwhile...

Shiho is in her room when her phone rings. She see Shinichi's name on screen. She answered it.

"I want you to cook for our dinner." He said.

"Our dinner?" She asked confused.

"Do you have visitors?" She asked again.

"None. I mean Our dinner, US! . I would like to eat dinner with you tonight." He said.

"Are you drunk or something? What did you take?"

"Oi idiot I'm not taking illegal drugs and I'm not drunk. Just cook and wait for me there."

Shinichi ended the call.

'What's gotten into his mind?' She asked herself.

She prepared the ingredients and started cooking. She don't know if Shinichi is only pranking her. after cooking she take a rest and chill in the living room, she put her earphones on and listening to random music, she's singing along to.

It's already 8 in the evening and she received a text from Shinichi saying to prepare their dinner because he's on his way home. She prepared the foods on the table and sit down on the chair waiting for him.

Shiho is watching the wall clock while waiting for him. Shinichi texted her again saying he went in a store to buy something and he will be home. She didn't reply and still waiting for him.

It's already 10 o' clock in the evening and Shinichi didn't come home. Shiho sighed and clean up the foods on the table and decided to go to her bed.

'I knew it. He's just pranking.' Her thoughts.

She lay down on her bed and staring at the ceiling. She didn't notice her eyes are shutting down and fell asleep.

Shinichi is on his way home. Holding bags of food because he order on a fast food chain. He thought Shiho wouldn't prepared foods because she might think he's only pranking.

He reached his mansion and entered. He went straight to the dining area and there's no served food on the table. He prepared the foods he brought and after that he took a quick shower. He changed his clothes and went to Shiho's doorway. He knocks her door.

He's standing and waiting for her to open it.

'Maybe she fall asleep?' His thoughts.

He knocks again. And then the door opened. He see her rubbing her eyes and look at him. She didn't speak and so is he. They are staring at each other eyes waiting for someone to break it. Shinichi fake cough and decided to speak.

"You didn't prepared foods. i told you I'm coming home." He said.

Shiho blink her eyes and yawned.

"Yawny girl!" Said Shinichi.

Shiho gives him a suspicious look.

"What? Let's go yawny girl!"

"Why are you calling me Yawny Girl? You addressed me as Criminal did you forget?" She asked.

"I'm sorry for being a jerk." Shinichi looks at her with a sincere look.

"I shouldn't treat you rude and mean. I shouldn't let my anger take over me and becomes a jerk towards you." He apologized.

"Will you forgive me?" He asked.

"Is this a prank?" She asked.

"No." He said.

Shiho moves closer to him and sniff him.

"You're not drunk but you're acting weird." She said.

Then she move back and returned to where she's standing earlier.

"I'm really sorry Shiho." He looks deeply in her eyes.

Shiho feel he's really sorry.

"You believed I'm not the one who sent you the knives?" She asked.

"Yes. Because you're my partner and you can't do that to me right?" He smiled.

"I also hired a private detective to investigate about the strange gift I recieved."

"I hope they find out whoever sent it." She said.

"Are we ok now partner?" He asked.

"Why are you doing this?"

"I want to change. New year, New Me." He smiled.

Shinichi offer his hand for a handshake. She looks at him.

"I understand if you can't forgive me yet." He said.

But Shiho take his hand.

"Baka!" She smiled.

They shake their hands and went to the Dining area. She see the foods are served on the table.

"I order foods because I thought you might think I'm pranking you." He said.

Shiho sit down.

"I actually cook foods but It was on the fridge now." She said.

"I'm sorry I make you wait." He apologized.

"It's alright."

They eat together after eating they went outside the mansion. Shinichi is lying on the wooden modern lounge chair while Shiho is sitting on the other chair next to him.

"You sure you want to stay here and not celebrate it in the club?" She asked.

"I need to change." He said.

"You can't force yourself to change in just one night you know..." she smiled.

"It will take time." She added.

"Yeah I know. I'm just starting tonight."

"Well, goodluck atleast you're trying."

"Will you stay here until I can find out who's the one who sent those gift?" He looks at her.

"Ofcourse!"

They smiled at each other.

"Condolence Kudo kun. It's hard to lose someone you loved..." she lower her voice but he can still hear her.

"I attempted to commit suicide when she died. I can't think straight I just want to be with her." He open up.

"I wasted my life in the past few months, and I was really upset that I lost her." He added.

Shiho keeps listening to him.

"I love her so much and no one can replace her in my heart." He said.

In his words her heart broke into a million pieces. Shiho knows how much he meant it. And she knows he's being honest. Truth really hurts. She smiled hiding her pain, she's really good at hiding.

"Someday you'll able to see her and be together forever." She smiled again.

"But for now... be patient and try to live your life, if she can say one thing I know she will tell you to live your life and be strong." She added.

He looks at her and smiled back. They spend their time outside and wait for 12 midnight.

"Happy New Year!" Shiho greeted.

"Happy New Year Partner." Said Shinichi.
