Episode 13: Ann the PokeSemtress and Nebula's Appearance!
Narrator: Today our heroes are continuing down the road to Aldon Town, with Trent getting as impatient as usual...
Trent: Aghhhhhhh! Are we there yet Koda!? we've been walking forever!
Koda: Sorry Trent, but we still have about a day and a half till we get there. If we had taken the longer route back at the bridge we would still be walking for a week so I don't think this is too bad.
Luna: Trent's just impatient! We'll get there when we get there ok? So stop whining!
Trent: Whatever...hey what's that?
(Trent points at a Caterpillar like pokemon, he then takes out his Pokedex and points at it again.)
Pokedex: Caterpie: (Bug) Caterpie has a voracious appetite. It can devour leaves bigger than its body right before your eyes.
From its antenna, this Pokémon releases a terrifically strong odor.
Trent: This is a weird looking little fella...seems kinda weak if you ask me...
Luna: I think it's kinda cute!
Koda: Yeah, I'm gonna take a picture of it. Now stay still Caterpie.
(Koda takes out his camera and gets ready to take the Caterpie's picture. Unfortunately before he takes the picture, the Caterpie uses String Shot and a large wad of silk is now stuck to the lens. Koda freaks out and tries to whip it off.)
Koda: Nooooooooo! My camera!
Luna & Trent: Hahahahahahahaha!
(Opening Sequence)
( A woman with large glasses and long hair runs and calls Caterpie's name.)
Girl with Glasses: Caterpiiiiiiiiie! I'm over here!
(She catches up with our heroes who stare at the Caterpie and Koda is still rubbing silk off his camera.)
Girl with Glasses: I'm sorry, my Caterpie wandered off again. I hope he didn't cause any trouble.
Luna: Not too much...at least to us
(Luna looks at Koda who is still wiping his lens.)
Girl with Glasses: Oh no! I'm sorry, I'm sure Caterpie didn't mean to hit your camera!
Koda: No it's fine, I got all of it off now...
Trent: So this odd pokemon is yours?
Girl with Glasses: He's not odd! He's my Caterpie!...I should probably introduce myself huh? I'm Ann a PokeSemtress!
Luna, Koda & Trent: PokeSemtress?
Ann: That's right I make and fix clothing with the help of my pokemon, like Caterpie here
(Ann picks up Caterpie and pets him on the head.)
Ann: I was just about to have lunch before Caterpie ran off, do you guys wanna join me?
Trent, Luna, & Koda: That sounds great!
(The gang and Ann set up a picnic area and lay the food and drinks out as well as calling out a few of the pokemon, Pichu, Misdreavous Hoothoot, Wooper and Cottonee.)
Luna: Ann I love your Caterpie, he's simply adorable!
Ann: I know right? I love him.
Luna: How long have you had him?
Ann: Lemme see...
(Flash Back)
Ann(Present): I decided to become a PokeSemtress a while ago when my little sister tore her favorite dress, I was upset that there was nothing I could do to fix it.
We had no money and my parents were not around a lot. So I tried to sew the dress myself and for a while I was getting better but I ran out of thread for the dress. I went to go look for more and saw a Caterpie...or rather he saw me.
He shot me with a String Shot attack and at first I was a little mad but at the same time I was grateful because I learned that I could use the silk from the String Shot to my advantage.
I took the silk and not only repaired my little sister's dress, but made some improvements so it looks better than new! I thanked Caterpie for that and fed him a lot of food as thanks. Later I decided
I want to make and fix more dresses like my sister's and I will learn the ways of sewing to get better.
(Ann is going to leave for her journey, suddenly Caterpie is following her.)
Ann(Past): Wassup? you wanna come with me?
Caterpie(Past): Cater Cater!
(Caterpie nods his head yes and crawls on Ann's arm while smiling.)
Ann(Past): Alright Caterpie, let's go fix and make beautiful dresses all around the Gyaza Region!
Caterpie(Past): Caterpie!
(Ann runs off into the sunset with Caterpie on her shoulder.)
(Flash Back ends)
Ann: That was about five months ago...
Luna: Awww that story was sweet.
Koda: Yeah, it was definitely heartwarming
Trent: Huh? I wasn't listening what?
(Luna hits Trent in the head.)
Trent: Ow!
Luna: Rude as always...Wait a minute! Five Months!? Your Caterpie should be a Butterfree by this point! Or at least a Metapod!
Trent: Butterfree? Metapod?
(Trent types these two names into the Pokedex to look them up.)
Pokedex: Metapod: (Bug) A steel-hard shell protects its tender body. It quietly endures hardships while awaiting evolution.
Pokedex: Butterfree: (Bug/Flying) The wings are protected by rain-repellent dust. As a result, this Pokémon can fly about even in rain.
Trent: So they're evolve forms
Koda: It is true that Bug type pokemon tend to evolve faster than other pokemon.
Ann: Oh that's simple..I don't want him to evolve and he doesn't show to want to evolve either.
(While playing with the other pokemon Caterpie stops and listens to the conversation for a while and tilts his head, he then proceeds back to playing.)
Luna: But Ann, Pokemon get stronger when you evolve them and even though you're not a Pokemon Trainer I'm sure having a beautiful Butterfree will help you make even more beautiful dresses.
Ann: I like Caterpie the way he is, and he seems to be happy the way he is. And as long as we're happy the journey will be a success.
Trent: So Caterpie will stay weak the whole journey...that's sad.
Luna: Trent! I can't believe you!
Trent: What!? I'm just saying what she said?
Ann: Hey Trent?
Trent: Yeah wassup?
Ann: You're aiming to be the greatest Pokemon Trainer right?
Trent: Ha! You're basically talking to the best Trainer right now! I'm gonna win the Gyaza League and get respect from everybody!
Luna: Oh boy here we go again...
Ann: How about we battle, then I'll show you how strong we are
Trent:...Fine! This fight will be easy! Your Caterpie shouldn't be too strong.
Luna: Stop getting cocky! Although Ann? Are you sure you want to do this? Caterpie aren't known for being great in battle...
Ann: I'll be fine, let's go Caterpie!
Caterpie: Pie!
Trent: Alright Hoothoot! Go!
Hoothoot: Hoot!
(Both Pokemon step out into the field ready for battle.)
Ann: Ready?
Trent: This'll be cake!
Luna: Oh on! Hoothoot is a Flying type, Bug types are weak against Flying types. What is Ann trying to prove?
Koda: Who knows, but I gotta see this.
Trent VS. Ann
Trent: Hoothoot, go! Use Peck!
Hoothoot: Hoothoot!
(Hoothoot dashes forward with a fast Peck.)
Ann: Caterpie: Use String Shot at Hoothoot's foot!
Caterpie: Caterrrrrrpiiiiie!
(The silk from the String Shot ties around Hoothoot's foot.)
Trent: It'll take more than string to stop us going!
Ann: Dodge!
(The weight of the silk slows down Hoothoot's movements slightly, but just enough for Caterpie to be able to dodge.)
Trent: What!? We missed?
Ann: Yep, now Caterpie use String Shot near Hoothoot.
Trent: Ha! Near? Where are you aiming? Hoothoot use Confusion!
Hoothoot: Hooooooooo!
(The Confusion attack is successful on Caterpie but Ann does not look worried at all.)
Luna: Ann isn't in too much trouble, Psychic attacks are not as effective on Bug type pokemon.
Koda: From the way it sounds you want Trent to lose this battle.
Luna: I wanna see how well a Caterpie can do in battle not evolving...Also I want Trent to learn a lesson in respect for other people's choices!
Ann: Now Caterpie! Reel yourself in and use Tackle!
Caterpie: Cater! Cater! Piiiiiiiiiiiiiie!
(Caterpie is released from the Confusion attack and reels in his String Shot he fired previously and uses the speed from reeling in to boost the power of the Tackle it hits Hoothoot hard.)
Hoothoot: Hoothoot!
Trent: What!? This can't be happening right now!
Luna: Wow! I never thought I'd see String Shot used like that. Normally String Shot is a move used to lower your opponent's Speed, but to use it offensive like that takes skill
Koda: Amazing...Trent's gotta lot to learn
Trent: Enough of this! Hoothoot use Hypnosis!
Hoothoot: Hoot!
Ann: Quickly Caterpie, use String Shot on your eyes!
Caterpie: Caterpie!
(Caterpie uses String Shot in himself covering his eyes, since his eyes are covered he cannot get hit by the Hypnosis.)
Luna: She used String Shot defensively too? Ann's amazing!
Trent: You messed up! Now Caterpie can't see! Use Peck!
Ann: Who said Caterpie needed to see, I'm his eyes, Caterpie, jump and use String Shot straight down.
Trent: (She's tryna get Hoothoot stuck in the String Shot...luckily Hoothoot has great timing senses.) Hoothoot stop and fly up for a Peck attack!
Hoothoot: Hoothoot Hoot!
(Hoothoot stops before getting hit with the String Shot and flies up charging with a Peck attack.)
Ann: Let's finish this! Caterpie reel in that String Shot and uses Tackle downwards!
Caterpie: Pie!
(Caterpie reels in the String Shot that was fired previously and goes down fast, with the combination of gravity and being reeled down this Tackle attack hits way harder than Hoothoot's Peck, Hoothoot gets knocked away and falls. Afterward Hoothoot faints.)
Luna: I...I don't believe it...and I'm looking at it! Ann won with her Caterpie.
Koda: They aren't even trainers too, that was some strategic battling on their part.
Trent:...I lost...they're stronger?...How?
Ann: Good job Caterpie!
(Ann picks up Caterpie, tears the silk off of his eyes, and hugs him for a job well done. Caterpie smiles at his victory. Trent drops to his knees pondering over his loss.)
Ann: Good battle Trent.
Trent: Whatever! don't pity me, you had complete control in that fight! I'm gonna take a walk!
Luna: Trent! Where are you going?
Koda: He must have taken the loss hard.
Luna: He'll get over it. By the way good job in that battle Ann you guys are strong.
Ann: Thank you, Caterpie is small which means it's easy for him to get from place to place using String Shot. I developed this style of battle when we ran into some thugs a month ago.
(Trent returns Hoothoot to his pokeball and sadly walks away into the woods.)
Ann: Oh man...I feel bad, you think Trent'll be ok?
Luna: He's just being dramatic, I feel this is a lesson for him that he can't underestimate his opponents.
Koda: Yeah, but at the same time Luna, Trent has been somewhat of a losing streak since he got his first badge.
He lost to Sir Sterling and his Bisharp, then he lost to the Banished Knights in WhiteStone, and now he's lost to Ann.
Luna: Well that's proof that Trent needs to stop believing that every victory he gets isn't something that can just happen.
He's gotta learn that there are tough opponents out there and if he wants to be serious about being a Pokemon Trainer, he's gotta lock down and lose the cockness.
Pichu:...Pichu...
(Pichu looks sad and stops playing with the other pokemon and runs to where Trent walked off to.)
Ann: I still feel bad, I'm gonna go talk to him ok?
Luna: Ok Ann, but personally I feel that some time to learn is what he needs.
Koda: I'll clean up the picnic area
Luna: I'll help, Ann when you see Trent make sure he doesn't do anything stupid.
Ann:(Giggle) Ok
(Trent is deep in the woods and is still pondering over the battle.)
Trent:...I had no idea that being a trainer was gonna be this hard...I fought the Gambler, and Flow and won those tough battles. What happened?
(Pichu catches up with Trent and climbs up to his head, Pichu smiles to cheer him up.)
Pichu: Pichu!
Trent: Hey...Looks like I'm not shaping out to be the trainer I promised I was gonna be.
(Ann then sees Trent in the woods.)
Ann: You're a great Trainer Trent
Trent: You again? Don't flatter me Ann, you kick my butt in that battle with no problems and with an unevolved Caterpie.
Ann: That's only because Caterpie and I have been working on that strategy for a while. You still have stuff to learn Trent, and besides you've got an amazing spirit for battle.
You just need to train, that's all, moving forward at a rapid pace isn't gonna help you become a Pokemon Master.
Trent:...Thanks I guess
Ann: I'm sure that you'll find your own way to get stronger and you will grow to be an awesome trainer.
Caterpie: Cater
Trent: Yeah...but I want to find a way fast! because I wanna become a Master soon!
Ann: (Giggle) I'm sure that when you find your style things will definitely speed up for yo-
(Just then a large amount of pokemon cries can be heard deep into the woods.)
Ann: What was that?
Pichu: Pi!
(Pichu runs off of Trent's head and runs to where the sound is coming from. Trent and Ann quickly follow.)
Ann: Pichu and Caterpie are headed this way come on Trent!
Trent: Yeah, let's go!
(Trent and Ann stop running and see a bunch of pokemon running away from two guys.
A girl in a torn dress stands in the way of the two guys and is doing everything she can to make sure the guys do not advance.)
Girl: Stop! What you're doing to these poor innocent pokemon is wrong! Leave them alone!
Nebula Grunt 1: Kid you don't know who your dealin with, do ya?
Nebula Grunt 2: Yeah we're Team Nebula! Feared throughout the Gyaza Region!
Nebula Grunt 1: And now we're making our mark here so get outta the way or you'll get hurt!
Girl: These Pokemon mean alot to me! I won't let you hurt them!
Nebula Grunt 2: I guess you're gonna have to learn the hard way what happens to those who get in our way. Geodude, use Rock Throw!
Geodude: Geooooduuude!
(Geodude throws a rock at the girl, but then the silk from String Shot attaches to the rock and the rock is slung the other way. Trent, Ann, Pichu, and Caterpie appear.)
Ann: Hey! I don't know who you guys think you are but you better leave this girl and these pokemon alone!
Trent: What are those pokemon these bums have?
(Trent points the Pokedex at the two pokemon that the Nebula Grunts have)
Pokedex: Geodude: The longer a Geodude lives, the more its edges are chipped and worn away, making it more rounded in appearance.
However, this Pokémon's heart will remain hard, craggy, and rough always.
Pokedex: Poochyena: Poochyena is an omnivore—it will eat anything. A distinguishing feature is how large its fangs are compared to its body.
This Pokémon tries to intimidate its foes by making the hair on its tail bristle out.
Nebula Grunt 1: Who are these pests?
Nebula Grunts 2: Listen kids, this ain't no birthday party, get outta here or you're gettin hurt!
Ann: Hey Trent, can you take the one with the Poochyena? I'll take the one with Geodude since your Pichu's electric attack won't work on it.
Trent: Ok!
Nebula Grunt 2: Guess these kids are gonna have to learn the hard way after all. Geodude, use Rock Throw!
Geodude: Geoooooooduuuuuude!
Ann: Caterpie, use String Shot to reel yourself up that tree!
Caterpie: Piiiiiiiiiiie!
(The Rock Throw attack misses Caterpie and Caterpie is now up the tree branch hiding from Geodude.)
Ann: Good, now use String Shot on as many branches as you can see up there.
Caterpie: Cater Cater Caterpiiiiiiiiiie!
(Caterpie begins shooting multiple String Shot attacks on the branches leaving tons of silk. Meanwhile Trent begins to battle the other Nebula Grunt.)
Nebula Grunt 1: Poochyena us Bite!
Poochyena: Pooooooooch!
Trent: Pichu, use Thunder Wave!
Pichu: Chuuuuuuu!
Nebula Grunt 1: Jump and land with the Bite!
(Poochyena jumps to dodge the Thunder Wave and dives using Bite, it hits and Pichu arm is trapped in the jaws of Poochyena.)
Pichu: Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
Trent: Oh no!...wait a minute, Pichu use Thundershock now!
Pichu: Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiichuuuuuuuuu!
(Pichu uses Thundershock with Poochyena still biting down on Pichu's arm. Poochyena gets hit point blank with the attack and backs off.)
Nebula Grunt 1: You little brat I'll show you! Poochyena use Shadow Claw!
Poochyena: Poooooooooooch!
(Poochyena's front leg turns dark purplish and the claw gets larger and vicious. He runs to hit Pichu with the attack. Meanwhile we cut back to Ann's battle with the other Nebula Grunt.)
Nebula Grunt 2: Geodude follows it in those trees!
Ann: Bad move boys.
(Geodude ascends into the upper level of the trees where Caterpie is.)
Nebula Grunt 2: Nowhere to hide, use Rock Tomb!
Geodude: Geodude Geo!
(Rocks suddenly appear, and Geodude directs the floating rocks forward toward Caterpie.)
Ann: Caterpie...bounce!
Trent: What Caterpie can use Bounce?
Ann: Not the attack...just bounce
Trent:?
(Caterpie begins to bounce and gets really high dodging the Rock Tomb attack. Just then Luna and Koda arrive at the scene.)
Koda: We heard some cries from pokemon in the woods and rushed over to see if you guys were ok
Luna: What's going on up there?
Ann: We're just taken care of these thugs is all.
Luna: Ann? How did Caterpie jump like that in the trees?
Ann: Simple
(Flash Back)
Ann(Present): I told Caterpie to use String Shot on all the trees he can see up there. All of the branches are now covered in silk and we can use the silk at a bungee to bounce anywhere as long as where in the trees.
(Flash Back end)
Ann: It was a mistake to follow Caterpie up in the tree cause now you're on our battlefield!
Caterpie: Caterpie!
Nebula Grunt 2: What? Enough of your talkin kid I'll show you! Geodude is a Rock type pokemon,
I don't know much, but i do know that puny little bugs like your Caterpie are weak to Rock type pokemon like Geodude, we're gonna squash ya!
Ann: Don't underestimate Caterpie, we've developed tons of ways to defend ourselves from creeps just like you! Caterpie bounce off the silk and use a full speed Tackle!
Caterpie: Cateeeeeeeeeerpie!
(Caterpie bounces off a nearby line of silk on a branch and charges towards Geodude.)
Nebula Grunt 2: Ha! Well just hit you head on! Tackle!
Ann: I'm not dumb, Caterpie String Shot! reel you way up to dodge Geodude then come down with Tackle!
Caterpie: Cater!
(The two Pokemon charge at each other with Tackle, but then Caterpie uses String Shot to the higher branch and reels himself in and dodges Geodude.
After that Caterpie ricochets off of the silk on the branches and jets down with a full speed Tackle, before Geodude can react he gets hit hard.)
Nebula Grunt 2: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! This kid is making a fool outta me! Fine I'll get rid of all that silk Geodude use Rollout! Tear it down!
Geodude: Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
(Geodude begins to spin rapidly in a ball and it tears away the silk on the branches.)
Luna: That's not good Ann
Ann: Relax, I got an idea. Caterpie use String Shot on Geodude now!
Caterpie: Cateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerpiiiiiiiiiii!
(Caterpie uses String Shot on Geodude and the silk get caught on Geodude while it is spinning, the spinning causes the silk to wind up around Geodude.
By the time Geodude is done using Rollout he is trapped in a ball of silk like a yarn ball. Being unable to move Geodude falls out of the trees and remains motionless.
Caterpie jumps out of the trees and lands on Ann's arm and Ann pets him for a good job.)
Luna: That was amazing, Ann you are definitely a creative battler and Caterpie are a great team.
Ann: Thank you, but more importantly we have to check to see if that girl is ok. Koda her leg is injured can you pick her up?
Koda: Got it!
(Koda runs to pick up the injured girl. Meanwhile we cut back to Trents battle with the other Nebula Grunt and things are not looking good for him and Pichu. Pichu just got hit with Shadow Claw and flies back from damage.)
Pichu: Chuuuuuuuu
Trent: Oh no! (If this keeps up we'll lose...I wish I could battle as well as Ann and Caterpie, they use the environment to their advantage...That's it!)
Nebula Grunt 1: Time to say goodbye to your Pichu! Poochyena, use Shadow Claw! Finish it!
Poochyena: Bark!
Luna: Uh oh! If this hits Pichu is done I gotta-
Ann: Wait! I think Trent's got something planned
Luna: You sure?
Ann: Yeah
Trent: Pichu step back!
Pichu: Pichu!
(Pichu steps back and is stopped by a tree behind him.)
Nebula Grunt 1: Nowhere to run now kid. Claw em' Poochyena!
Trent: Now duck!
Pichu" Pi!
(Pichu ducks the Shadow Claw just before it hits, Poochyena gets its claw stuck in the trunk of the tree and is pulling to get it out but it is still stuck.)
Trent: Got ya! Now Pichu use Thundershock! Full Power!
Pichu: Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiichuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Poochyena: Poooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
(Poochyena get's hit with a powerful Thundershock at close range taken a lot of damage.)
Trent: Now knock em' away with Headbutt!
Pichu: Piiiiichu Pi!
(Pichu Headbutts Poochyena and sends him flying high. When Poochyena lands back down he faints. Pichu jumps for joy that he beats Poochyena and Trent picks him up and hugs him for them winning the battle.)
Luna: Alright! Way to go Trent!
Ann: I knew he could do it!
Koda: Great job man!
Nebula Grunt 1: This blows! Being beat by so stupid kids? This sucks!
Nebula Grunt 2: Hey we just gotta call, we have to return back to HQ a Helicopter is coming to pick us up.
Luna: You guys aren't going anywh-
(Before Luna could finish her sentence a helicopter flies in above the woods and drops a ladder down. The Nebula Grunts climb the ladder to make their escape.
A man with a scar on his face is standing at the door of the helicopter looking at our heroes.)
Man with Scar: So these are the little kids that are causing all this trouble? I can say I'm disappointed in you two, just be lucky this mission wasn't a top priority one...or else I would have let your fate into their hands...
Nebula Grunts: (Crying) We're sorry boss! It won't happen again!
Man with Scar: I have no time for your apologies for they are just words...and words don't make progress...Your failure today wasn't a complete failure however, because now I know the faces of potential threats.
(The Man with the Scar looks down at our heroes and takes a few moments to look at Trent and Pichu .)
Man with Scar: I don't know why, but I have the strangest feeling that this is not the last time I will meet you children.
I could be wrong however, but if I do meet your acquaintance again I will greet you with my name...and I will dispose of you myself...Think of it as a reward for causing Team Nebula so much trouble...till we meet again young trainers!
(The doors in the helicopter close and the helicopter flies away. The pokemon in the woods return to their homes in peace while our heroes ponder over what just happened while exiting the woods.)
Koda: I wonder who these guys were?
Ann: I don't know, I just know they were up to no good.
Trent: That guys with the scar seemed serious
Pichu: Pichu Pi
Luna: They said their names were Team Nebula...hmmm sounds strange
Girl: I don't know much about them, but I do know that they were trying to hurt all of the pokemon in the woods
Ann: But why? even bad guys have a reason for why they do things.
Girl: I have a feeling I know why. These woods are special because the water here is crystal clear and good for the pokemon, so much so that catching pokemon, or going too deep into the woods is strictly prohibited.
Even the pokemon in these woods will fight to keep intruders away from the lake.
Ann: Wow so the waters that famous huh?
Fiona: Yes, it gave the woods it's name the "Crystal Woods" for the crystal clear waters contained deep in these woods.
By the way my name is Fiona I live near the area and saw those thugs run their way into the woods,
when i saw them they attacked me and that's when you guys came in to save me I'm truly grateful, thank you.
Ann: No problem, oh by the way good job Trent.
Trent: It was no problem for a pro like me!
Luna: There he goes again...you can't say one nice thing to him without him screwing it up!
Fiona: I want to show my gratitude so as a thank you for saving me and the pokemon of the Crystal Woods would kids like to come to my place for dinner tonight.
Koda: That sounds good
Trent Yeah I could go for a good meal! But first hey Ann?
Ann: Yeah Trent?
Trent: I wanna battle you again if that's ok, I think I learned something during our fight with those goons.
Ann: Ok Trent, we'll heal our pokemon at Fiona's house and battle again.
Trent: Sounds good to me!
Luna: I wonder what Trent is up to?
Koda: who knows...
(Several hours pass and our heroes get some rest and Trent is set to rematch Ann.)
Ann: You ready Trent?
Trent: You know it! Hoothoot I choose you!
(Trent throws Hoothoot's Pokeball and Hoothoot flies out ready to battle.)
Ann: Ok then Caterpie, go!
(Ann throws her Pokeball and Caterpie comes out ready to battle.)
Ann & Trent: Let's Go!
Trent VS. Ann
Luna: (Alright Trent let's see what you learn...You may be an idiot sometimes, but you do have your moments.) Best of luck to both of you!
Koda: Yeah have fun you guys!
Trent: Hoothoot use Peck!
Hoothoot: Hoot!
Luna: That's the same thing he did last time, direct attacks won't work on Caterpie and Ann
Ann: Caterpie, use String Shot on Hoothoot's eyes!
Caterpie: Piiiiiiiiiiie!
Trent: Just what I wanted, Hoothoot stop your Peck and use Confusion on the String Shot!
Hoothoot: Hoot! Hoothoot! Hoo
(Hoothoot stops using Peck just in time and uses Confusion on the String Shot, a psychic glow surrounds the silk and keeps it levitated.)
Ann: What!?...Clever
Trent: Good now let's send that String Shot right back at them Hoothoot go!
(The Confusion covered silk flies back to Caterpie.)
Ann: Caterpie release that String Shot and aim a new one at the rock to your left and reel yourself outta there!
Caterpie: Caterpie Cater
(Caterpie releases the first String Shot and makes a new one on a nearby rock to reel itself in and escape.)
Trent: Heh...now! Hoothoot quick use Peck on the silk line!
Luna: Wha?
Koda: Huh?
Ann: Uh oh!
Hoothoot: Hoooooooooot!
(Hoothoot quickly flies forward and uses a sharp Peck on the line of silk made by the String Shot.
His Peck attack cuts the line of the silk leaving Caterpie attached to nothing and he falls mid reeling.)
Caterpie: (Groan) Cater...
Luna: Well I gotta say Trent pulled it off
Koda: That was smart thinking, cutting off the silk line that Caterpie leaves now Caterpies wide open.
Ann: Not bad Trent...but it's not over! Caterpie, use String Shot on Hoothoot!
Caterpie: Cateeeeeerpiiiiiiiie!
Luna: She's planning to wrap Hoothoot up like she did Geodude
Koda: Trent better have a plan
Trent: Not working Ann, Hoothoot use Confusion on the String Shot!
Ann: Again Trent that trick didn't work the first time
Trent: It will this time though!
Hoothoot: Hoot!
(Hoothoot uses Confusion on the String Shot and the silk has stopped in its tracks again.)
Trent: Now pull them forward!
Hoothoot: Hoooooooooo!
(Hoothoot uses the psychic force from Confusion to pull the silk from String Shot which also pulls Caterpie in who is still attached to the String Shot.)
Ann: Oh no! Quick Caterpie, release the String Shot!
Trent: Now you're playing on our battlefield! Hoothoot throw away that silk and use Peck head on!
Hoothoot: Hoothoot!
(Hoothoot launches the discarded String Shot aside and flies straight to the Caterpie that is now airborne and hits him with a full head on Peck attack.
Being a Flying type attack this does heavy damage to the Bug type Pokemon Caterpie falls and faints, Trent and Hoothoot win the battle.)
Luna: Excellent! He knew that if Ann wanted to avoid getting attacked by the Confusion controlled String Shot she was going to have to release it,
unfortunately that meant Caterpie had no way to defend itself in time while in mid air.
Koda: And since Hoothoot is a flying pokemon, mid air was an easy fight for him. Good job you guys!
Trent: We won...yeah! We won! Good Job Hoothoot!
Hoothoot: (Happy) Hoothoot! Hooo!
Ann: Good job Caterpie thank you!
(Ann returns her Caterpie to his Pokeball and walks to Trent to congratulate him.)
Ann: Great job Trent, you found a way to counter my Caterpie's String Shot strategy.
Trent: Yep! It's because I'm the greatest! Don't expect less from a future Pokemon Master!
Luna: (Sigh) Shut up you dork...
Trent: But seriously though I gotta say...thank you
(Luna and Koda quickly look at Trent and have a face of shock and disbelief at Trent's being respectful.)
Trent: I only learned how to beat you by watching your battle with Geodude and reflecting on the battle we had earlier...I owe you that.
Luna: My ears must be fooling me
Koda: Either that or the Trent we know got kidnapped and this is an imposter!
Luna: (How come he never thanks me!? I helped him battle! I taught him tons of things!) Grrrrrrr!
Trent: Also I gotta thank you Luna...
Luna: Wha...?
Trent: I wouldn't have known about Caterpie's weakness to Flying if you didn't teach me about that early on...
Luna: Well I'm glad to see you actually listen to what I have to say an-
(Trent has walked away)
Trent: Welp! Now that I learned all I need to know I can become a Pokemon Master real fast!
Luna: I'm gonna kill him!...I'm gonna kill him!...I'm gonna kill him!
Ann: (Giggle) Now Luna, let's not get too rash...besides Trent did a good job today.
Luna: You're right...I'll kill him later
Koda: Geeez! Luna you scare me...
Fiona: Hey you guys, dinner is done!
Koda: Let's go eat!
Trent: Yeah! I'm starvin!
(The gang runs in the house and eats dinner, the rest at Finoa's house overnight and in the morning are all packed and ready to hit the road again.)
Luna: So Ann, where are you headed?
Ann: I'm headed to Aldon Town, I heard that there are some great supplies there I can get for sewing.
Koda: Hey Aldon Town is where we are headed.
Trent: It's where I'm gettin my second gym badge!
Luna: You should come with us!
Ann: You know, you guys are really fun to hangout with. So yeah I'd love to travel with you guys!
But once we get to Aldon Town I'll be there for a while so I can't say that I'll keep traveling with you guys after you get your badge.
Luna: That's ok besides, I could use some girl time...you don't know how hard it is to be the only girl in this group...
Koda and Trent: Hey! What's that supposed to mean?
Ann: (Giggle) Well don't worry Luna I got you.
Koda: Thank you for having us Fiona
Fiona: No problem, and thank you for helping defend the Crystal Woods. I wish you all the best of luck on your journey.
The Gang: Good Bye!
(Trent and Co. walk on the road waving at Fiona and heading down the road.)
