A great fight had raged between brother and sister until, finally, one prevailed. Tai Lung sent a powerful blow to Shai's face. She flew back and slammed into a column, knocking her out cold.

It was then, that Shifu rejoined the fight. Now, a battle warred between student and teacher. They crashed up, through the Hall's roof. They continued to throw kicks and punches as they fell back toward Earth.

Shifu grabbed his former student by the shoulders, forcing him to take the impact of their crash landing. But, as they continued to get closer, Tai Lung switched them, so that it was Shifu who would get the full force of the damage.

They crashed back through the roof, landing hard into the marbled floor of the Hall of Heroes. Cracks formed around where Shifu had smashed into the flooring, with Tai Lung standing over him. He readied himself to give the final blow to his old master, when Shifu scurried out of the way.

He ran from Tai Lung. He jumped between the columns, Tai hot on his heels. When he came to the column that Shai Lung slammed into, he saw that after all this time she was still laying there, unmoving. This gave Tai Lung the perfect opportunity to kick Shifu off the column, causing him to crash into the floor once again.

When Tai Lung swung himself off the column, he landed right in front of Shifu as he weakly stood. His hands were engulfed in a bright blue flame, his eyes glowing a vicious red-yellow.

"Everyday you told me that I was destined for greatness - that you were proud of me," Tai Lung raged while striking Shifu, "When I asked for the Dragon Scroll, you knew I was worthy! But, when Oogway said otherwise, what did you do?!"

Tai Lung paused to let Shifu think back to that day.

"YOU DID NOTHING," he continued, "You told me that you were proud of me! Tell me, Shifu: how proud are you now?!"

Tai Lung sent one last blow to Shifu, sending him tumbling across the floor, only to to be stopped by the slight step at the pool.

Tai Lung snuffed out the blue flames that had engulfed his hands, then strode over to him to hear his answer. But what he heard, was not what he expected.

"I have always been proud of you," Shifu said weakly, looking into Tai Lung's eyes, "Ever since I saw you, I've been proud of you. And it was my pride that blinded me to what you were becoming... to what I was turning you into. I'm sorry."

Tai Lung's features softened, only enough for someone to shortly notice - in a split second, he was darkly angered again.

"I don't want your apology," he clenched his fist around Shifu's throat and lifted him high off the ground.

Where he held him was level with the golden dragon in the ceiling. He glanced at it; seeing the Scroll wasn't there caused him to be even more furious.

"Where is it," he demanded.

The slight rustle of weakened movement caught Tai Lung's attention. He turned towards his little sister, easing the grip around Shifu's throat so he just could breathe.

"I told you," Shai softly said, her weakened voice barely above a whisper, "The Dragon Warrior has taken it," she stopped as chesty coughs rattled her body, wincing at every slight movement.

"You will never find the Scroll, brother - even if you search for 100yrs... you will never find it," she continued.

The sight of his sister's state caused Tai Lung's features to softened with sorrow and guilt with what he had done to her.

All the years Shifu had cared for them like his own children, she was the only one he would ever have that unique brother-sister connection with; now he had probably just broken that bond.

The sound of huffing and puffing came from the Hall's entrance, causing everyone to look over. There he was - Po, the Dragon Warrior - in all his glory, hunched over while trying to get air into his lungs.

"Who are you," Tai Lung asked.

"I-..." Po was cut off by him panting again, "Am the Dragon Warrior."

Tai Lung laughed and dropped Shifu to the floor, "You? But he's a panda! You're a panda!"

Po held up the Dragon Scroll, "If you want this," he panted, getting into a fighting stance. "You'll have to take it."

After that was said, Shai curled up to try and ease the pain, then blacked out once again. The last thing she saw was her brother and Po tumble out of sight down the infinite amount of stairs that lead to the village.

--

{Meanwhile...}

Po braced himself for an inevitable impact. When his foe - Tai Lung - got close enough, he belly-gonged him right up, into the clouds. Po looked up, squinting his eyes against the bright light.

Once he had come back and started to fight his nemesis, the dark weather began clearing. Tai Lung's distant screams begun to get louder as his dark form appeared in the clouds.

As he got nearer to the ground, Po stepped aside to let him crash a far way into the dirt.

"You can't defeat me," Tai Lung declared woozily, dragging himself out of the hole. He stood and faced him, a little wonky on his feet, "You're just a big, fat panda!"

He went to throw a punch at Po, but he grabbed it and held one of his fingers with the Wuxi Finger Hold. Tai Lung's eyes grew wide with fear.

"No," Po began confidently, "I'm THE big, fat panda."

"You're bluffing! No, you're bluffing," Tai Lung stated fearfully, "Shifu didn't teach you that!"

Po smirked, "No. I figured it out."

A defeated expression crossed Tai Lung's face.

"Skadoosh," Po said as he flexed his pinkie.

A wave of yellow spread out over the place.

Shai bolted up in her bed. She glanced around to find herself in her bedroom. She breathed heavily, trying to catch her bearings. She thought she may have just had a bad dream and that everything was fine; but that was not the case.

A flood of sadness drowned her as the feeling that her brother had been banished to the Spirit Realm rebroke her ribs. Shai pushed back tears as she stood. Her side would be a constant reminder of what had happened until it healed. She walked out of her room, and heard voices and laughter coming from the kitchen.

She paused, debating on whether to join her friends - her students and her Master - or to just go straight to the Peachtree. But the urge to know if she was right made her decision.

Before she could think about what she was doing, Shai found herself in the kitchen doorway. Master Shifu, Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper, Crane and Po turned towards her.

She smiled sadly - she didn't know what she thought she'd expect. Did she expect her brother to be sitting there, laughing and talking along with them? Well... that is what she had always wished for.

"He's gone," Shai Lung stated, though it sounded like a question.

Shifu nodded. "You tried to help him, Shai - you tried to save him," he said, "But, maybe, it just wasn't meant to be."

Shai nodded and smiled again to keep the tears from falling.

"I know it had to be done, Master," she paused to regain her composure, then sighed, "But that doesn't make it any easier."

Before anyone could say another word, she was gone. Tai Lung was defeated - taken to the Spirit Realm; there was no other way of stopping him.

Though, she felt she was so close to getting his goodness to break through, and yet she still failed. Shai was now more determined than ever to help those like her brother, so she swore an oath:

"I will help those who are misguided - those lost souls like my brother. I will keep doing it until I succeed, even after then. I will save as many souls as possible - even if it costs my life."
