Will had never picked up a kid from school before, he couldn't even imagine himself doing it. This new experience gave him a sense of hope – a family life with Alicia – something he had been dreaming of since Georgetown.

Will took a half day off, and he arrived at Grace's school early. Will I be doing more of this in the future? He realized he was jealous of Peter not only because he had Alicia, but also an established career, sweet kids, big family house with front yard and back yard. And somehow, he threw all these away by cheating on her. Will could never fathom why he would do that. Being Chicago's number 16 most eligible bachelor, little do people know, he actually felt a wistful longing for a family life with Alicia.

I have to apologize to her. I can't lose her…. again.

He was not going to wait for the election. He didn't want to waste another day of his life without Alicia just because he was stubborn and insecure. I will go to her tonight.

Will parked his car on the other side of the street, looking at the school gate. He heard the bell, and the school entrance was bustling with students. He waited and waited, he thought he missed Grace since there were so many students bursting out from the gate.

Finally, he saw Grace. She was walking toward the gate with her friend. She was laughing at something her friend said, she looked happy. When she got to the gate, she looked around to find Will. Will waved to her from afar. Grace saw him, waved back, and walked toward Will's car.

Just when she cut through the crowd, a man who was hiding in a dark alley suddenly leapt out and grab her wrists. He thrust her into the alley with one hand, while covered her mouth with the other hand.

Will saw her being abducted. "Grace!" He sprang out of his car, and ran into the alley. The alley was dark, narrow, long, and damp. It led to the other street behind the school. Will saw the man dragging Grace toward the other side of the alley. Grace was kicking, and Will could hear her muffled scream.

"Stop!" He yelled at the man while chasing him down the narrow alley. He could see that there was a black van on the other street waiting for them. He ran as fast as he could, like his life depended on it.

He caught up with the man and Grace. He tried to pull Grace away from the man. The man was much taller than Will, and he was extremely strong. Will tried to attack him, but the guy still had a strong grip on Grace. Will wouldn't give up. He kicked and punched and struck.

Will kicked his groin, the man groaned and loosen up his grip on Grace a little. Grace used the chance to escape from him, and ran toward Will. Will could see there were other men jumping out from that black van and ran toward them to join the fight.

Oh Shit.

The man caught Grace's hair and pulled her back. Grace shrieked in pain. When Will tried to slam into him again, the man pulled out a gun, and shot Will in his leg.

Will collapsed and screamed in pain. A bullet had landed on his left thigh. The man dragged Grace away. He turned his back on Will.

"Will!" Grace yelled.

I can't let you take Grace. She's the light of Alicia's life. I won't let you harm a hair on her head.

With utmost pain, Will stood up. He threw himself onto the man. It took him by surprise, since the man expected Will to bleed out on the floor. At the same time, Grace used the chance to wiggle herself free from his grip. She ran behind Will.

The man got really angry this time. He pointed his gun to Grace's direction. If he couldn't successfully kidnap her, he would kill her instead.

"No!" Will shouted while the man pulled the trigger. He jumped in front of Grace, and the bullet hit Will instead of Grace.

The commotion was attracting attention. The man had to fleet. They could hear siren getting closer to them.

Will collapsed in front of Grace. His blood even splashed onto Grace's uniform.

Grace screamed "WILL!"
