House of Sleep Talkers:
Alfie was still trapped in the sarcophagus. Alfie begged for someone to help him. Jerome was standing next to the sarcophagus.
"Help, let me out! I'm young! I'm over privileged. I have a lot to give," said Alfie.
"Nobody double-crosses me," said Jerome, softly.
"Help!" Begged Alfie.
"Alfie, is that you?" Asked Jerome, who pretend not to know what happened to Alfie.
"Jerome? Let me out", begged Alfie.
"What are you doing in there?" Asked Jerome.
"Please!" Yelled Alfie.
Jerome opened the sarcophagus and let Alfie out.
"Lucky I was here, eh? Said Jerome.
"Oh, you saved my life, man, said Alfie.
"Totally. I saved it right up, said Jerome.
Jerome and Alfie headed back to their room. Otis was sitting in the chair asleep. Jerome needed information and tried to trick Alfie to spill the beans.
"So why are you wearing that ridiculous outfit?" Asked Jerome.
"This is not a ridiculous outfit okay, this is Super Alfie's mission wear," said Alfie.
"Okay, so what was your mission Super Alfie?" Asked Jerome.
Alfie didn't want to answer Jerome's question, because he wanted to be loyal to the club. Alfie decided to chance to subject.
"Shouldn't we wake up Otis, so that he can sleep in his own bed," said Alfie.
"Nah, let him sleep," said Jerome.
"Okay, then Super Alfie's is going to sleep to now too," said Alfie.
Alfie put a blanket over Otis and went to his own bed and immediately fell asleep. Jerome was angry that he didn't get the information that he needed.
The next morning. The club was sitting at the table and having breakfast.
"Do my eyes still look like an albino rabbit's? These late nights are really playing havoc. With my beauty regime," said Amber.
"Has anyone seen Alfie this morning? I hope he's okay," said Nina.
"Here he is," said Fabian, as he saw Alfie entering the living room.
"Alfie, how are you?" Asked Amber.
"How did you do last night?" Asked Patricia.
"Did you find anything?" Asked Aaron.
Alfie showed the club the bottle with the elixir that he took from the cellar.
"Oh, well done," said Patricia.
'Yeah, good job, Alfie, said Nina.
"What about the other thing? Asked Fabian.
"The demisphere? I looked everywhere, But I couldn't find anything that looked right, said Alfie.
"Maybe it's' not down in the cellar after all, said Aaron.
"unleash the power. And light your way to the demisphere hidden below," said Nina
"You okay, mate?" Asked Aaron.
"Yeah, still just a bit tired from last night," said Alfie.
"I totally get it. Risking your life to go down into that creepy cellar and then almost getting caught by Victor. You really are Super Alfie, said Amber.
Amber gave Alfie a big hug, which made Alfie super happy. The rest of the residents entered the living room. Otis stumbled into the living room and struggled to sit.
"Everything okay Otis? Asked Mick.
"No, my back is killing me," said Otis.
"What was done with your back?" Asked Caitlin.
"I was with Jerome and Alfie last night watching movies in their room. And then I fell asleep and so slept all night in a wooden chair," said Otis.
"Why didn't you guys wake him up?" Asked Mick.
"He looked so peaceful when he was sleeping. And we didn't want to disturb him," said Alfie.
"Yeah but now I feel like an old man," said Otis.
"And now you also start to complain that it has back pain," joked Jerome.
"Shut up Jerome," said Otis.
"Yes, grandpa," joked Jerome.
"Hey whoever becomes our school ambassador. Please put massage chairs in the drama room," said Otis.
After breakfast the residents headed to school. Hours passed by. During lunch the club was in the woods talking about the Ankh pieces. Lunch time was almost over. Amber, Aaron, Patricia and Alfie headed back to school. Fabian helped Nina putting the Ankh pieces in her bag.
"I got to go put the stuff back behind the panel, So I'll meet up with you after," said Nina.
"Okay, I'll see you in school, And be careful," said Fabian
"I'm always careful. Well, almost always careful," said Nina.
Nina headed back to the house and Fabian headed back to the school.
Meanwhile at the school. Otis' back still hurt a lot, Fiona and Caitlin helped Otis getting his books and carried his bag.
"My back is still killing me," complained Otis.
"I have something that could help your back feel better," said Fiona.
"What do you have?" Asked Otis.
"Well I've found a healing method in a magazine that I was reading, said Fiona.
"Please don't tell me it's not a massage method where you put needles or hot stones on my back or walk on my back, right?" Asked Otis.
"None of those three. I have a special ointment, with healing herbs," said Fiona.
"So nothing that has to do with Zen?" Asked Otis.
"No, only natural and healing herbs," said Fiona
"Okay, as long as it helps to get rid of my backache," said Otis.
Otis, Fiona and Caitlin closed their lockers and headed to class.
Nina was in the house. Nina put the Ankh pieces behind the panel and left the attic. Nina locked the door and when she turned around Victor was standing in front of her.
"I've suspected for a long time. That someone was still going up there. And now I know who, and I know how. So tell me, Miss Martin, What's is in the attic that you find so very interesting," said Victor.
Nina had to go back up to the attic with Victor and she was hoping that he wouldn't find the Ankh pieces or the cylinders.
In the meantime at the school. Jerome saw Mara sitting alone in Mrs. Andrews's room. Jerome was glad she was alone and not with Mick. Jerome took a gift from his locker that he had bought for Mara with the money he had received from Rufus. Jerome walked into the room and sat with Mara.
"Hey Mara, said Jerome.
"Oh hey Jerome," said Mara.
"Still busy with perfecting your speech?" Asked Jerome.
"Yes, I really want to win, but I don't want the election to cause tension in the house," said Mara.
"Yes, I think we've had enough awkward silence breakfasts and suppers now," said Jerome
"Exactly," said Mara. "What are you doing here, Jerome?" She asked.
"Well I...," said Jerome.
But before Jerome came to finish his sentence, Mick walked into the classroom and sat down next to Mara.
"Here for you," said Mick, as he gave Mara a present.
"For me?" Asked Mara.
"Yeah it's for you. Now open it up," said Mick
Mara opened Mick's present and it was a bottle of perfume. Jerome had bought just the same bottle of perfume for Mara and was disappointed that Mick was ahead of him in giving Mara a present. Mara looked completely in love with Mick again and Jerome was not happy about this.
"Oh Jerome, are you free to talk about our campaign?" Asked Mara.
"You know what, Mara? No need. You and Mick carry on with your smooch-y yuck-fest, and I'll do everything, okay?" Said Jerome, sarcastically.
"That's very kind of you, Jerome," said Mara.
"Yeah, see, thing is, I am not kind, and I'm not a sucker either, so you do it yourself," said Jerome.
Jerome left the classroom feeling angry. Mara was just confused on why Jerome just would quit helping her with her campaign.
Back at the house. Nina was up in the attic with Victor. Victor was walking around and inspecting the attic. At one point Victor looked at the phonograph.
"This an is an antique. Could be very valuable. Have you been tampering with it?" Asked Victor
"No. Looks like junk to me, Really boring, irrelevant junk," said Nina
"Have you been going through this?" Asked Victor.
"No," said Nina.
"What is your secret? Why were you up in the attic?" Asked Victor
"Sometimes I just need to get away to think. In America, an attic is kind of like a Zen retreat,' said Nina.
"Well, not anymore, it isn't. There's a padlock going on that door. You can forget about any more me time in the attic," said Victor.
Victor grabbed the toothbrush from his pocket and gave it to Nina.
"I want to be able to see my face. Reflected in those toilet bowls, Miss. Martin," said Victor.
"Understood," said Nina.
"Now go back to school immediately," ordered Victor.
Nina left the attic as fast as she could and went back to school. A few minutes later she arrived at the school and saw the club standing at the lockers and ran up to them
"Victor caught me," said Nina
"No way," said Fabian.
"Did he get the puzzle pieces?" Asked Patricia.
"No, I'd already hidden them behind the panel. But he's really suspicious. As usual, my cover story left a little to be desired," said Nina.
"This is bad," said Aaron.
"Well it's getting worse. Victor is putting a padlock on the door, said Nina.
"How are we gonna get the puzzle pieces back now? Asked Fabian.
"Yeah and now I also need to scrub the all the toilets in the house with a toothbrush, said Nina.
"Been there, done that, said Alfie.
"I'll help you," said Fabian.
Nina gave Fabian a shy smile and apricated that he offered the help her cleaning the toilets in the house.
A few hours later and school was over. The residents had returned home. Nina was scrubbing the toilets with Fabian's help. Jerome came back to the house with a lot of shopping bags in his hands. Suddenly Jerome's phone rang. Jerome saw that Rufus was calling him. Jerome answered his phone.
"Hello," said Jerome feeling a bit nervous.
"I've been waiting to hear from you," said Rufus.
"Yeah, sorry. Nothing concrete to report yet, But I'll soon," said Jerome.
"Well, I hope so, Because I don't take too kindly to silly boys. Messing me around, Especially not when I have. Given them rather a lot of money. In advance," said Rufus
"Yeah, yeah. You'll get what you want," said Jerome.
"Make sure I do get what I want. Or else," threatened Rufus.
"Or else what?" Asked Jerome.
"I'm going to mummify you alive," threatened Rufus.
Rufus hung up. Jerome was starting to feel the pressure. Jerome was going to get something out Alfie tonight when was asleep, hoping that Alfie would be talking in his sleep again.
An hour later. Otis was on the living room sofa and couldn't move because of his back. Alfie entered the living room.
"Alfie help me," said Otis.
"What's up Otis?" Asked Alfie.
"Massage my back please?" Asked Otis.
"What? No I'm not going to massage your back," said Alfie
"Please? It's partly your fault that I have a backache and you got soft hands," said Otis.
"I don't have soft hands," said Alfie.
"Yes you do, for a boy you have really soft hands," said Otis.
"Fine I'll do it," said Alfie
"Thank you," said Otis.
"But just so you know I was the one who gave you a blankie so you wouldn't get it cold," said Alfie.
The day had gone by quickly it was bedtime and all the residents were in their rooms. Jerome was in bed when he woke up because, he heard Alfie talking in his sleep again. Jerome picked up a notebook and wrote down everything Alfie said. At one point, Jerome could no longer hear what Alfie was saying and moved closer to Alfie's bed. But Jerome tripped over Alfie's shoes and fell to the floor. This woke Alfie. Alfie picked up the notebook and looked at the page where Jerome had written. Alfie looked up and looked angry at Jerome.
