Chapter 12

The separation

Artie was very happy to see that the mission was successful, but what he said next saddened everyone,

"I am afraid that we need to go now," he said, "we need to get this to the warehouse, the helicopter will be meeting us outside in 5 minuets."

"I guess that this is goodbye then," said Claudia, rather let down,

"we will miss you all" said Cat Noir, "but before you go, I think that you all met two friends of ours. Claws In!" and in a yellow flash, Plagg was floating next to Adrien,

"Spots Off" Ladybug said, and in another flash of light, Tikki was floating next to Marinette.

"it was good to meet you," Said Tikki, "I hope that we meet again soon",

"you made a good team" agreed Plagg, "and I agree with everything that Sugar Cube just said", Tikki then slapped her head, but said nothing.

"Oh," Claudia then exclaimed and turned towards Marinette and said, "I want you to keep these, as a memory of the Caretaker", and she held out her mirrored goggles, Marinette took them and simply said,

"thank-you, I won't forget about you or the warehouse now."

Then Artie turned to them and said, "well, if you do need anything, call us" and he held out two Farnsworth's, "just to keep in touch." He added, and then said, "let's go".

"goodbye!" called Pete, Myka and Claudia as they followed Artie out of the doors and were gone.

Meanwhile, far away, Gabriel was rather confused, he distinctly remembered something about the past few days, something about a warehouse, and then it was gone, he had even asked his Kwami Nooroo about this and yet even he couldn't remember, (for when the artefact was neutralised, Nooroo was flung out of the broach with such force, that he whacked against his mental barrier so hard that he had gotten amnesia and couldn't remember anything about the warehouse). Exhausted, Gabriel decided to go back home to get some rest.

That night, Claudia was looking at the new outfit she was given by Marinette that morning; it was a black leather jacket with the zip slightly to the right, with a matching skirt, which had a zip over the left-hand side. She tried it on and looked at herself in the mirror, she thought that maybe in the future it would suit her, there was a note with the clothes, it said,

"just in case you took being Caretaker permanently. From Marinette", Claudia reread the note and said to herself,

"maybe I could be caretaker of the warehouse" and then she started laughing, "as if!".
