I accidentally closed the first attempt at this chapter, and the second one got deleted for reasons unknown to me... so UUUUURRRRGH!

Also can someone tell me what Wolf's claw weapon is called?

Chapter Nine.

Margot was thrown to the floor of the platform, tied up with Wolf's weapon. The Avengers, Wolf, Kipo, Benson, and Dave stood in front of her.

"How did you know where to find us?" Demanded Wolf.

"There's a bunch of otters doing a whole play about you. It includes your address and everything." Explained the girl.

"Why would you need my help?"

"We were Scavenging in Deathstalker territory, and got cornered." Explained Margot "I escaped, but... my brother Rupert's trapped. I didn't know who else to turn to. You're the only person I know who's escaped those scorpions."

"Um, why should we believe you?" Asked Benson "You're the Wolf who pretended to be our Wolf's best friend, and then hunted her. How dare you."

"Easy." Clint told him.

Cap began to untie Margot, much to everyone's shock.

"What are you doing?" Asked Dave.

"I'm going to help her, like it or not. You're mall welcome to come if you want." Steve replied.

"I'll come too." Said Clint.

"And me." Said Bruce.

Wolf sighed. "She doesn't deserve my help. But if there's one thing I've learnt from Kipo, it's that I should help you anyway." She threw a look at Scarlamange "Because It's the right thing to do, and I'm a nice person. Somewhere deep, very deep, inside. Deep."

"Yeah! OK, we're doing this!" Cried Kipo, punching the air. "Uh, but who's gonna get Scarlamange to apologise?"

"You are." Wolf told her "Stay here, HMUFA needs you. Besides, your job is gonna be a lot harder than mine."

Scarlamange responded with a "Hmm."

"I'll stay too." Said Thor "He reminds me of my brother."

"Yeah, I'm gonna go see how the delivery is going." Said Tony.

"Delivery?" asked Natasha.

"Oh, remember when I sent those Timbercats to do something back when you went on that mission? I was having them salvage the lab that got transported with us, see if there's anything worth salvaging." Tony explained.

"I'll come with. There's no telling what terrors you could unleash." The spy dryly remarked.

Wolf glared at Margot "And if this is a trap, I'll be wearing you next." She told her, brandishing her weapon.

No words were needed.

...

The Timbercat mess hall was full of cheers.

Why, you ask? Yumyan Hammerpaw was trying to catch a ball of yarn that was swinging from the ceiling in circles.

This all stopped when Kipo, Thor, and Tony all pushed Scarlamange's cage into the room.

Silence fell.

They pushed the cage down the stairs.

Scarlamange in question was sitting cross-legged, his arms crossed.

"Hey, what's he doing here?" Demanded one Timbercat.

"I don't wanna see him!" Yelled another.

"Let's throw stuff at him!" Someone else cried, throwing their plate of pancakes.

The rest of the mess hall followed suit.

As pancakes and syrup dripped down his cage, Scarlamange remarked; "Oh, yeah, boo me. You know what? Boo, you guys! Boo, you!"

Kipo threw her arms out in front of the cage. "Stop throwing stuff!" She cried.

"Ooh, actually, could I have some of that?" Scarlamange asked.

Yumyan held up a paw for the Cat Mutes to stop, but not before one hit Thor in the face with a 'SPLAT!'

He blinked, then licked his lips. "Not that bad." He commented.

"I'm trying to show him what community means." Kipo explained.

Yumyan lowered his paw. "Let's wipe together to wipe down his cage..."

Was there hope?

"...so we can throw more stuff at his cage!"

Or, maybe not.

As the Timbercats cheered, Kipo muttered; "I see what the problem is."

With that, she slid open the lock of the cage, and opened the door.

The room erupted with gasps.

"Uh, what are you doing?" Asked Scarlamange.

"You can't get to know people behind a piece of glass." Said Kipo "So... I'm showing you some trust."

The entire room ran for the exit.

"That's OK." Announced Kipo "It's just gonna take them a minute to see what I- AGH!" She yelled as a Pancake, thrown by Scarlamange, was thrown at her face.

With a laugh, the Mandrill ran for it.

Thor sighed, swinging his hammer to chase after him. "He won't get far."

...

Wolf, Margot, Cap, Clint, Dave, and Benson walked through what was once a row of buildings, with bridges of makeshift materials built over time.

Margot threw a look behind her, to see Benson and Dave glaring at her and pounding their fists together.

"We're not taking our eyes off you." Said Benson.

"Yeah. I haven't blinked in hours. It was fine for a while, and then it became painful. Now, it's fine again." Said Dave. "Ow! Nope, it's... it's... it's... it's bad again."

"That's enough, you two." Steve told them.

"Do they have to come along?" Whispered Margot to Wolf.

"Like we'd-" Began Dave, before stopping with a look from Steve and Clint.

Wolf then noticed a gap in the path, with a rather long drop.

Wolf swung her weapon, and it hooked onto an overhanging metal bar.

Steve jumped across, his Super Soldier Serum allowing him to perform such a feat.

Margot jumped, and swung from the Metal bar, landing next to Wolf, who pushed a plank for Clint, Dave, and Benson to walk over.

Wolf then ran off, and swung over a wall that looked like swiss cheese. Margot ran after her.

"Oh, man! I hate chasing Wolf!" Complained Benson.

"How are they so fast! Their legs are so short." Pondered Dave.

"Dude, I know!" Benson told him, as Clint fired an explosive arrow, clearing the way.

Wolf and Margot raced each other, old habits dying hard.

They came to a stop at a sloping piece of fallen debris.

"Wow, you're still really fast!" Margot said.

Wolf smiled, before remembering she was supposed to be mad at her, and changing her face to a scowl.

The other caught up to her. Not wanting to be on Cap and Clint's bad side, Dave and Benson kept their mouths shut.

"Let's go." Said Margot, running ahead.

...

The attempts to get Scarlamange to apologise had gone less than well.

He had Smashed Cotton's guitar, and run off, before getting recaptured by Kipo.

He had smashed a plate he was supposed to be washing, and run off, before getting recaptured by Kipo, and having to clean the others with Molly guarding him.

He had danced with the Fitness racoons for more than five seconds before smashing the beatbox and running off, and- you get the idea.

Kipo pinched the bridge of her nose, before noticing someone who might be able to help.

"Hey, Asher!" Cried Kipo, running over.

Asher jumped our of their skin. "Kipo! You're... here. Of course you are. You have been for... months..." Asher babbled.

A blush appeared on Kipo's face.

Oh, so they DO have a crush on me. What should I do? Do I like them? I am blushing, right? She thought to herself. I can't be crushing on them just because I've been told they has a crush on me. I was blushing when I was teaching them how to play the guitar...

Unbeknownst to her, her tail had sprung out, and gone between her legs.

Thor snapped his fingers to get Kipo's focus back on.

"Oh, right." She shook her head to focus. "Asher, any ideas to get Scarlamange to Apologise?"

They put a finger to their chin "Hmmmmm..." She pointed to Yumyan, who was playing with some very young Mutes.

"Kids!" Kipo exclaimed "You're a genius, Ash!" She cried, hugging her and beginning to purr.

Asher blushed, stammering profusely.

Kipo -Half-dragging Scarlamange- walked over to Yumyan and the kids. One Timbercat Child ran up and hugged Kipo, making her laugh and pick up the kid.

She presented the kitten to Scarlamange, who looked shocked and slightly repulsed.

He picked up the child, who smiled hopefully and presented him with a flower.

He raised the kid higher, and began chanting, stopping when the child began to cry.

"No, no. I... Don't cry! It's okay." Soothed the Mandrill. "Shh. Ok. Uh, look! Uh, you're a fierce little timberkitten!" He said, suddenly playful.

"I am?" The child asked.

"Yes, you are." Replied Scarlamange.

The kid let out a soft, half-hearted roar.

Hugo looked at Kipo. who smiled.

"Oh, no! Aah!" Cried Scarlamange, pretending to be frightened in an attempt to please the child. "Timbercats and snakelets are chasing me!" He cried, running away.

The child smiled, yelling "You don't scare me, Scarlamange!" As they chased after him, along with his friends, giggling madly.

Kipo looked on, smiling, as the kid yelled; "Snugglemuffin owns you all!"

...

Later, the mutes were called to a HMUFA meeting.

Hugo, Thor, and Kipo came in, the Mandrill a little nervously.

"Are your eady?" Asked Kipo "Just like we practised."

"We didn't practice anything." Replied Hugo.

"Exactly. Because an apology comes from your heart."

Hugo stared at the Mutes he had tried to hurt. The Mutes he had tried to rule over.

"Why is this so important to you?" Asked Hugo.

"Because, I can't get all of the Mutes to come together, then they'll never convince the Humans that Emelia's wrong! And friendship loses forever and ever."

"If that's all you want, then why don't you just get rid of me?" Asked Hugo.

"Because it's not all I want." Kipo told him. "I want you to have a second chance." She walked towards the mutes.

Thor looked on, his heart swelling with emotion.

Kipo greeted the Mutes, and finally the time came for Hugo's apology.

"Hello... everyone." He said, clearing his throat.

Everyone began booing him.

"I just wanted to say that..." Hugo said began "Often in life, we are faced with summer storms. Sometimes we are the thirsty roots of a tree. And other, the bird thrashing in the wind. Even so, the rain must fall. But the clouds will always make way for the sun. Do you see what I mean?"

"Are you calling us trees?" Demanded Yumyan.

"No. No!" Hugo began.

"Oh, he's saying we're too dumb to know how rain falls!" Cried Label.

"That's not... that's not what I-"

"First you destroy our homes, and now you're calling us dumb trees!" Accused Amy.

The crowd began yelling.

Food was thrown.

"You guys, stop! We already did the throwing thing!" Yelled Kipo.

Her eyes turned Jaguar. "I said... stop!" She let out a mighty growl, turning her arms into jaguar arms.

The room went silent.

She de-transformed her arms, and gave Hugo a hopeful look.

He closed his eyes, and tried again. "I've done terrible things to you. And in return, you've shown me... patience. I don't deserve you're forgiveness, and I don't expect anything to change after today. But... for what's it's worth... I am sorry."

"Wow... give it up for Scarlamange everyone!"

One mute said "Yay" Very quietly.

"Oh, come on! You can't say you didn't feel that"

"No, we did." Said Label. "But we also feel... incredibly scared!"

"Two emotions swirling together like a beautiful vortex." Said Tongue Depressor

"Kipo, we can't forgive Scarlamange yet." Said Amy. "But you made a safe zone in my heart. We'll join HMUFA."

"Really?" Asked Kipo.

As the other mutes began saying they would join HMUFA, Thor began crying.

"I am NOT crying!" He told anyone who would listen. "I've just got something in my eye..."

...

The rescue team stood in front of the deathstalker territory, ready for anything.

"Nice job with the dogs." Clint told Wolf and Margot.

"Thanks!" Said Wolf "Remember, the most important thing is to stay calm so the Deathstalker's can't see your heartbeat."

She took a deep breathe, before walking towards the entrance.

The Corgi Mega Mute they had travelled on let out a whine, taking a few steps back.

"Wow! You actually lived here?" Asked Margot. "That's impressive. No.. It's amazing."

"No. No, you don't get to do that." Wolf told her. "You don't get to be my friend."

"Wolf, you tell her!" Benson encouraged her.

"That's enough." Said Steve, firmly "Wolf, how old were you two at the time."

"Five, what's your point?" Snapped the Human.

"Five. She was probably scared and confused. You of all people should understand that." Clint told her.

"I had to fall asleep every night knowing that nobody in the world was thinking about me. Or even cared that I was afraid." Tears were brought to her eyes.

"Of course I cared. You were my sister." Said Margot. "But our... my parents... they made me think I didn't have a choice. I was scared."

"You don't abandon you're friends when you're scared. That's when you need them most."

Steve and Clint nodded in agreement.

...

Zola, Emelia, Zane, and Greta hid behind a ledge.

"What are we waiting for? We need to strike now!" Snapped Zola. "I want to use some of the many weapons I have been manufacturing for you!"

"Not yet. When they walk-" Suddenly, they heard Margot confessing that she had walked them into a trap.

Zola's robotic arm morphed into a cannon. "Let's see how my missile with my new toxin comes along." He chuckled. "Permanently blinds the victim. Time to test it out."

He aimed, and fired.

...

Margot, with her ears, heard it coming.

She did the best thing she could.

She pushed Wolf out of the way.

She saw the missile detonate next to her, and a gas engulf her.

Then she saw no more.

...

A little longer than normal, I know. And I know it's dark, having Margot lose her vision, but it's less dark than what happens to her in the series! And before you ask 'Wait, so Zola just happens to have that Toxin?' He's been working on a LOT of weapons, as he has said.

Also, that thing with Kipo's tail earlier is a thing cat's do when they're feeling loving, or horny. We're going with loving at the moment, for the sake of this fanfic. I hope I'm doing this romantic subplot right...
