Alex is having a nightmare. The nightmare shifts to the surgery.
"We almost lost you." said the surgeon.
Ferrel and his men are watching the surgery. Calumon is present. At the briefing room, they are discussing instructions on how to remove a worm without him dying.
"If we remove the worm now, then Alex will die." said the man.
"Yes." said Shoutmon.
"I can't authorize any action from Alex." said Captain Ham.
"What?!" yelled Shoutmon. "Captain Ham, Alex is having a nightmare because there is a worm inside of his body which is inside his abdomen."
"Shoutmon, stop!" ordered Captain Ham. "I had enough. Dismissed."
Ferrel and his men are dismissed. At his room, Alex is meditating with Shoutmon watching. They are surrounded by candles.
"So, you have someone in your family?" asked Shoutmon.
"I have a son." replied Alex. "His name is Mac."
At the briefing room, Captain Ham are discussing the plans on going after his clan.
"Absolutely not." said Captain Ham.
"With all due respect sir, there is a group of purgers on the loose inside Alex's territory." said Miss May.
"With that, it's about Alex sir." said Jack.
"Same here." said Pete.
"I can see that, but what I can't see is why." said Captain Ham. "How many purgers are you sure of it?"
"At least one." said Ferrel.
"One?" said Captain Ham.
"Well, Impmon and Meicoomon know for sure." said Ferrel.
Ferrel is then sent to Captain Ham's office.
"This is not a first barbecue, Ferrel." said Captain Ham.
Captain Ham and Ferrel argue.
"Captain Ham, Shoutmon says that Alex has a son." said Ferrel.
"A son?" asked Captain Ham.
"Yes. Alex and Shoutmon were former purgers. When he befriended me, I know I was next." said Ferrel.
Ferrel and Captain Ham hear the siren. It was Alex who starts the billboard coordination.
"Step away from the keyboard." ordered Captain Ham.
"I'm going back for my son." said Alex.
"I won't let you do that." said Captain Ham. "If you do that, you'll jeopardize your life to save your son."
Three soldiers point the guns at Alex and Shoutmon.
"Don't do that." said Ferrel.
"Please, return to us." said Captain Ham.
Alex shuts down the billboard.
"When is the ceremony?" asked Captain Ham.
Later, the billboard activates. Ferrel and his men are wearing masks. Alex is wearing a face covering inside of his helmet. Sam and Pete are the last to enter the billboard. They are transported to Osaka, Japan. Calumon is under observation by Captain Ham. At the entrance to Osaka, purgers show up.
"Hold your fire, there are my allies." said Alex.
"Right." said the purger.
"My helmet was not working during the first mission." said Alex.
"Welcome, strangers." said the gun-wielding purger.
"We are here to stop a ceremony." said Jack. "How are we supposed to stop it?"
At the shopping district, Alex's home was destroyed by the purgers prior to the visitation.
"Oh, great." said Shoutmon. "How the heck did the world die twice?"
The purger shows up. He engages in the fight with Shoutmon.
"Come on! It's me!" said Shoutmon.
Alex points the gun at the purger.
"You must be Alex and your Digimon partner Shoutmon." said the purger. "Welcome home, son."
"Who's that?" asked Ferrel.
"This is my friend Yasha." said Alex.
Alex and Shoutmon welcomes Yasha to Ferrel's heart. They then devise the plan for Sam, Miss May and Jack to run through the forest.
"I heard you lost your wife." said Ferrel.
"My wife was killed in the purge." said Alex.
"I agree." said Shoutmon.
"I'm with the command with Captain Ham." said Ferrel.
At the bushes, Miss May and Jack along with Lalamon and Palmon who were summoned at the time found the purgers with a coffin lifted by six of them. At the camp, Alex and Ferrel along with Yasha and Shoutmon witness the burning camp.
"We need help over here!" cried Shoutmon.
At the altar, the priest that look like Pennywise is possessing a young boy, but it turns out to be his sister, Yama. Shoutmon attacks the priest while Alex get his son.
"Stop!" ordered Shoutmon. "That is not his son."
"Where is my son?" asked Alex.
"On the table." said Shoutmon.
The priest is stabbed in the stomach, killing himself. The worm is extracted by Ferrel. The men drag him away. Meanwhile, Jack and Miss May are watching the purger's activity. They pour gasoline on the corpse and put a pile of wood.
"Let's move out before it get's worse." said Jack.
At the camp, Alex, Shoutmon and Yama wake up his son named Yasuhiko. Ferrel appears.
"There are vaccines and remedies." said Ferrel.
He stirs the medicine and puts it onto Yasuhiko's mouth.
"If we get him to the billboard and then…" said Ferrel incompletely.
At the altar, Jack and Miss May summon Palmon and Lalamon once again to quickly remove a worm that is inside the chamber.
"You said one worm, not two." said Lalamon.
Jack fired the gun at the chamber, killing the worm.
"You call that walking away?" asked Miss May.
Meanwhile, Sam and Pete along with Veemon and Gatomon shows up.
"We must get to the billboard." said Veemon.
"No, too risky without my son." said Alex.
"Your son is dying without a worm." said Shoutmon.
Alex removes a worm to revive his son.
"Alex, don't!" ordered Shoutmon.
At the trees, Miss May and Jack is walking but not until they are firing at them. They fight back using Digimon. Miss May summons Tentomon while Jack summons Gaomon. At the park, Alex and his men comfort his son Yasuhiko.
"Alex is too sick to get the billboard back online." said Shoutmon.
"At least we have a worm inside him." said Ferrel.
At the same area as Jack and Miss May fought back, the purgers found two dead bodies. Back at the shopping district, Alex helps his son find a place to stay for the night. He is given a new worm.
"Go now." said Yama.
Alex and Shoutmon place Yasuhiko on the ground and retreive the helmet. As they reach the exit, they are blocked by priests.
"Welcome back my friend." said the priest.
"Sam and Pete will arrive momentarily." said Ferrel. "They are dealing with the purgers."
Alex and Shoutmon engage in a fight with the two priests. The fight ends. The billboard is activated.
"Well done in visiting your son." said Yasha.
Ferrel sees Pete and Sam.
"What took you so long?" asked Ferrel. "Your friend are waiting at the billboard."
"We had to deal with several purgers." said Pete.
"Time to go." said Ferrel.
