Kris guides the wolf to where Legosi and Haru were as Legosi and Haru have their hands up and then behind their backs by the other cops.
"Alright, you three. Spill it." The albino said.
"It really was nothing sir." Legosi said, "Just arguments, that's all."
"Kid, if I had a dollar for every time I heard that." The albino wolf said.
"It actually was, sir." Kris said, "We were talking about something, and I left not wanting to talk about it. Then Haru and I tripped and fell and the crowd just took it as me wanting to eat her."
"Hm, you weren't planning on eating her, were you?"
"No sir."
"Good. So what were you talking about?" Kris really didn't wanna answer that. Sure the school now knows he's more prey than a predator but to mention it in public, "Answer me, kid." The albino pushed.
"We were talking about me being an herbivore," Kris said looking down. The other cops raised some brows at that, looking at each other with confusion.
"I see…" The albino said.
"That's really all it was, sir," Kris said.
"Release them." The albino told the other cops.
"Sir, you don't really believe that, do you?" The albino glared at the questioned cop. They obeyed and released the trio, "You guys head back. I'll stay with these three." The other cops left leaving it just the albino with the trio, "Come with me guys."
The trio was taken to a cafe. They say in a bit of fear and confusion for what's to come. The albino sat across from them.
"Firstly, I wanna apologize for what happened back there."
"Oh, it's alright sir. Really." Kris said.
"The name's Alex. What's yours'?"
"Legosi," Legosi said with a raised hand and Haru did the same.
"Haru."
"Pleasure to meet all of you. So going back to before, Kris, you mentioned you were more prey, correct?" Kris nods.
"Yes sir. 70% of my genes are from my herbivore mother, while 30% is from my carnivore father."
"I knew you had to be more prey than predator, I've dealt with enough hybrids to identify that by smell. Does anyone else know about this?"
"Just the people at our school. Before that, they didn't really believe me." Kris looked down a bit as Haru put her hand on his.
"What made them believe you then?" Alex continued questioning.
"Blood test." Alex raised an eyebrow.
"Couldn't that have been done a while ago?" Kris just shrugged in response, "Ah, so everyone practically thought you were a predator, then."
"Yes sir." Alex then turns his attention to the other two.
"Sorry to hear that, that must have been rough. Haru, how do you feel about Kris after this revelation?"
"Well, I was a bit shocked about it." Haru answered, "But at the same time, he did tell me before, I just didn't know how to answer. And there were some things I saw him do that were also signs." She started to think back to all the salad eating.
"What about you, Legosi? Did he tell you too?"
"Uh...y-yes sir...um I wasn't really sure about whether I believe him or not...but I do now." Legosi thought back to the Black Market incident, putting his hand on Kris's shoulder.
"So you said you've dealt with hybrids before?" Kris asked, a bit curious.
"That is correct."
"Can you, maybe, give an example of who?"
"Well, there was one that I had the privilege of being a guardian to. He seemed like a very troublesome individual, in fact, let me ask you real quick, Kris. Did you ever have problems back at home when it came to you living as prey?" Kris perked up a bit, having a feeling of what Alex was getting at.
"Yea. I, uh, lost someone after someone else found out about me being more herbivore than a carnivore." Kris was a bit nervous saying that, but decided it'd be best to, "I lost my mother when my father found out about who I really am."
"I see. Well, I can say he kinda had a similar experience." Kris then 100% knew who he was talking about as he thought back to someone telling him their backstory.
"You know, Kris. I can say I went through a similar experience as you did." A smooth voice said, "I lost my father due to...my mother eating him alive. Only you did what I can say would be a lot better than what I did. You ran away, but I… killed my mother before she could kill me… I had no other choice. With someone trying to kill you, it feels like there's nothing you could do in such a dire situation, except do whatever you can to defend yourself, so I did."
Kris looked back to Alex.
"So he was definitely one of the first I've dealt with back in my days being here. He became a changed man during that time."
"I bet he has," Kris said with a smile.
"One day I should bring him back to where I once lived before moving here. It's actually been a while since I've visited."
"When did you move here?"
"Well during my time as a police officer, I've been working with a couple of people to end this crisis that involved a "savage sickness".
"Savage… sickness…?" Legosi asked and Alex nodded.
"Yea. After that whole thing was over, I moved here and continued my police officer work."
"Wow, that's pretty cool," Kris said. The group kept conversing for a while until Alex looked at the time.
"Hey, so I know you guys have to go back but before you do, I wanna talk with you guys individually, if that's alright with you three." The three nod. Alex spoke with Haru first.
"So Haru, I know that you're very close friends with Legosi and Kris." Haru nods, "I want you to keep them close, okay? I know you have some strength in you, and I want you to use that strength to fight for them whenever rough roads come by."
"You think I can really do that?" Haru asked.
"I know. You kinda remind me of a rabbit I know. With that, I think you could do well in law enforcement." Haru smiled, chuckling a bit.
"Thank you, sir." Alex opens his hand revealing a multitool pocket knife.
"If you ever have to, use this to help defend yourself." Haru takes the multitool nodding to Alex in thanks.
"Take care of yourself, Haru. You're destined for greatness. Change the world, make it a better place for both predator and prey." Alex told her before walking her back to her friends.
Legosi was next…
"Legosi, so I've been noticing how you behave around Kris and Haru especially when they talk about you. The way that they LOOK at you. It's obvious to me that both of them are in love with you, even if they won't admit it." Legosi looked away rubbing the back of his head.
"Y-yes, sir?"
"Call me Alex, not sir. And it's alright, Legosi. I understand. Really, I do! This is a strange period of your life that you're going through, isn't it? Your body is changing, your mind is learning new things, and your soul is growing. As an animal, you are evolving. Right now, you're faced with a dilemma. Questioning your sexuality, your attractions… you have been given the option to pick one of two beautiful flowers. One represents Kris, and one represents Haru. Which one shall you choose?" Alex passionately asked.
Legosi shook his head in response, a little freaked out about how well Alex was able to read him. It was like the wolf was able to read his entire life with a single look at his face. "I-I can't decide who to spend the rest of my life with! I'm only seventeen, for Rex's sake! If I choose Haru, Kris will be heartbroken, and if I choose Kris, Haru will be saddened and depressed! I'm her first real relationship!" Legosi protested, anguished over the choice Alex had presented to him.
Alex chuckled in response. "Ah, I'm surprised you haven't figured out the solution yet, Legosi. Instead of forcing yourself to choose one flower, snatch both of them and run away with them before the universe takes them away from you!" Alex explained.
Legosi gasped as his canine brain processed what Alex was suggesting. "Are you saying that I… should be with both of them? At the same time?" Legosi asked.
"You really shouldn't try to force yourself to choose either one of them. Just take your time while being with them, especially Kris. After all, hybrids like you and Kris need to stick together." Alex said.
"Uh, yea. Yes sir." Alex opens his hand revealing a necklace. Legosi takes it, noticing a lever to open it that reveals nothing right now.
"Put whatever you want in it. Anything that has value to you." Alex smiled and Legosi smiled back.
Last but not least, Kris…
"Y'know Kris, as I've said before, you really remind me of the hybrid I met back then. You both seem very strong." Kris smiled.
"Thank you. I bet he really is a strong guy."
"Yea. But besides that, I wanna tell you, maybe you should give that Legosi some breathing space. From what it seems like with what you've been telling me between you and him, I think it'd be for the best especially since he seems to carry some romantic feelings for both you and Haru."
"Wait, really?" Alex nods, "Oh…" Kris thought back to seeing Legosi so mad with paint on his face, 'Was that why…?' He thought.
"Here." Kris looks to see a card that had Alex's phone number written on it. "If you ever need me, whether it's for an emergency or just to talk, call me anytime. I'll register your contact as a priority caller." Alex instructed.
Kris took the card with a smile.
"Thank you, Mr. Alex."
"Just Alex."
"Hehe, I just have a force of respectable habit." They both chuckled.
Alex brings the trio back to school, saying his goodbyes to them.
"Take care, guys."
"You too, Alex. Hope to see you again someday." Kris said as Alex nodded and drove off. The three begin walking until they reach a bench.
"Y'know, Kris." Haru started, "That was kinda stupid what you did back there."
"I know." Kris said with a chuckle, "Can you blame me though?"
"Kinda, sorta." They chuckled as Legosi watched them talk.
"Well, we should get going, Haru."
"Yea. Oh before that." Haru pulled out her phone, "I wanna take a quick pic."
"Here, I'll take it for you," Kris said. Haru gave him the phone and Kris, with his outstretched arm, held out the phone.
"Smile pretty, guys." They all smiled, well Legosi gave the best smile he could muster. Kris took the picture and chuckled.
"That's your smile Legosi?" He asked.
"Uh, well…"
"Hehe, it's alright." Haru said as Kris gave her the phone back, "I'll send you guys the photo for you to do whatever you want with it. See you around, Legosi."
"Yea, see you guys." They parted ways.
"Hey, Kris. I want to apologize for what happened back there." Haru said as she and Kris were walking.
"It's alright Haru, really. I'm sorry for being distant from you like that. It's just when you said all of that it kinda struck me a bit, y'know?"
"I understand. I just really wanna get to know you more. It's pretty intriguing to see a hybrid who's more herbivore than a carnivore."
"Hehe, it is but honestly even with that little carnivore I have in me, I'm forever nothing but an herbivore."
"I guess you've been treated so much like a carnivore that you just don't want to associate yourself with that part of you anymore?"
Kris nodded looking down.
"Well no matter what, you're still my friend." Haru put her paw on Kris's as they smiled at each other while continuing to walk back to the herbivore dorms.
Louis received a scratch on his hand from Bill as they were practicing. People were panicking a bit making sure he's okay.
"I'm fine, it's just a scratch." Louis said holding his scratched hand, "I'll just get the first aid from the Leader Room." He then felt Bill's arm wrap around him.
"I'll take you there!"
"Huh?"
"We felines are used to getting injured the more we play around, so I know a good and fast way to heal injuries. Let's just go together, okay?" Louis just looked at him.
"I'm really sorry about that." Bill said as he and Louis were in the room, "I can't be hurting the lead actor of our club. Though I will say, you've been getting hurt a lot lately. And I thought it was just a tiny scratch, so it was surprising when I saw blood come out. Must be rough being a fragile herbivore...especially for you." Louis glared at Bill after hearing that.
"Did you really have us alone just to say that? Don't try to provoke me."
"Hehe, y'know you remind me of Kris in a way. You both seem to have this aggressive, intimidating side to you. Heck, he kinda looks like you when he's mad." Louis raised an eyebrow.
"Why bring Kris into this?"
"Well, I guess I can go ahead and tell you, I happened to come across the Black Market. Not only did I find out your secret, but the Black Market was how we finally believed that Kris really is an herbivore." Louis just looked at him, "We, uh, force-fed him some meat and well, it almost ended badly. But, of course, he's okay, lucky him. But man, the fact that he has the appearance of a carnivore, yet he's an herbivore. Kinda sad. And now there's you dealing with such a big weakness." Louis could feel a rush inside as he heard this mostly about Kris. The thought that he could've been killed flooded Louis's head with the fact that Kris was telling the truth about being an herbivore.
"Hey now, no need to feel down. I'm not saying this to be a threat or anything. Actually, I'd want us to be equals." Bill said, going to put a hand on Louis's shoulder. A clicking sound was then heard as Bill saw the gun pointed at his forehead.
"Don't touch me. And don't make a sound." Louis said with a low voice. Bill started sweating as he looked in shock at the gun, "Why so surprised?" Louis said with a smirk, "This world is filled with weapons for those with the will to buy them. Now get down on the ground." Bill slowly laid on the ground. Louis then steps on him.
"If the school finds out about my past, I'll kill you right away. And if you ever go near Kris again, I'll kill you. The way I see it, your fate is entirely in my hands." He steps harder on the tiger as blood drips from Louis's hands, "Now try and tell me again. Try and tell me that we are equals!" Bill was shaking in fear as Louis stepped off of him, "Oops, looks like my blood's dripping." Louis puts the gun in his back pocket and walks off, "Lick the floor, you filthy pussycat."
"But, your scratch…"
"I'll be going to the infirmary." Louis left Bill lying there.
'I can't even get up. That deer is crazy…'
