Title: Mistress Fortune
The Tennant's are at a witchcraft museum. Alex is looking through a tribal mask, while Alice and Grandpa Max are with an elderly female tour guide. "And behind those impenetrable glass, is the recently discovered and the only known existing 'Archamada Book of Spells'", the elderly tour guide explained.
The Archamada Book of Spells is a navy blue color with a gold binding and clasps. It has gold corners, and a rune etched into a gold seal on the front.
"It contains ancient witch craft and rituals from the late sixteen hundreds.", as the tour guide explained this, Alice repeats her words perfectly. "Maybe you should work here 'dearie'." The tour guide said sarcastically before walking off to the next exhibit.
Alex threw himself onto Alice playfully, adjusting his glasses. "Don't let the old hag get to you, she looks older than the spell book.", he said as he mimicked the way a mummy would walk. Alice smiled softly at this and felt better All of a sudden, everyone is suddenly lifted off the ground and pinned to the ceiling.
"Man tours these days are something else," Max remarks sarcastically. From a window, a stream of red smoke passes through and materializes into a man who grey skin with black symbols on his shoulders. His attire is fairly tribal or that of a nomad, however more torn up. He also has long black socks that don't cover his heels or toes. His face is painted white and black to resemble a skull.
"The Archamada Book of Spells, I've been looking for you.", one of the charms on the man's sash glowed brightly as he chanted a spell. "Thata Mey Goof!", the magic spell caused the impenetrable glass to turn grey and explode into dust.
"Okay Omnitrix, give me someone I can work with.", Alex thought as he was preparing to activate it. Before he can do so, however, the man stops whatever was pinning them to the ceiling, causing them to plummet. Alex quickly dialed through his Aliens and selected Rush and slammed down... before he realized he was replaced with Brainstorm. "What an unfortunate miscalculation. However I shall make due with this."
As if time slowed down or in general came to a halt, Kracklsacean looked around with imagery of calculations appearing everywhere. "Ah yes, possibility number one hundred and eighty seven thousand... the most obvious one of them all.", Kracklsacean opened his brain plates and caused a surge of electricity to surround him into a dome. He looked to the curtain nearby, he used his electro-telekinesis tie off a large hanging banner to act as the slide, catching everyone before they fall on the ground. He hovered over them before landing on the ground. "My solution for all of you is: leave at once."
As everyone ran, Max looked at his grandson. "Be careful Alex, we don't know what type of tricks he's got up his sleeves.", he said as he and Alice ran off.
Kracklsacean nodded and closed his head plates. "My dear fellow, if you wanted good reading material, I suggest the library.", he telepathically said with a smug grin on his face.
The Grey skinned man lifted his staff as another one of his charms glowed. "Berdi Mordo Nata!", the man chanted as fire spewed out of the staff and onto the banner.
Kracklsacean simply opened his head plates again and surrounded himself with another barrier, the fire harmlessly passing over him. "Dodge," he said to himself as he skillfully scurried away from the red crystals. Before slamming down on the Omnitrix emblem and transforming into Rush
The grey skinned man's eyes widened. "A mimic?", he thought to himself as Rush sped around the museum. As soon as the warlock noticed he was heading for him again, he blasted out a beam of light that blinded Alex and sent him off course.
The man decided to finish him off then and there. For all he knew, this 'thing' was a mimic, fuck that shit right? Before he could do that, a trash can was thrown at his head along with a blast to the back. He quickly turned around with anger in his eyes to see Max with his arm in one of its assault modes and Alice next to him. "I guess we got his attention?" Alice nervously chuckled.
"I'd rather we hadn't.", Max said as the grey skinned warlock scowled and pushed them back via telekinesis. While they distracted them however, Alex managed to recover from temporary blindness and sped around the warlock rapidly. He repeatedly punched him until one of the charms flew off his sash, and before he could even counter attack. Rush already had slammed him face first into the ground.
Rush's visor slid up, he glided over and picked up the charm that fell. "Cool, souvenir."
"Good job there," Max said as his mechanical arm transformed back into its basic mode.
"Just doing what I need to do and keeping it lowkey.", Rush smiled as he sped out of the museum and to the RV.
"And in you go.", Alex said as he dropped the new souvenir in the little box he had, which was filled with items from various places they'd previously been to.
"All I want to say is, you didn't beat that grey skinned creep all by yourself y'know. I saved your sorry butt. But does anybody notice me?", Alice had a slight tone of annoyance when saying that.
Alex put his glasses back on and started scrolling through the Omnitrix, looking for new Aliens... or more accurately, new alien codes. "Being a Hero isn't about attention y'know.", he said before a holographic screen popped up, showing the time. "Oh so you can tell time, good to know." Alex nodded as he quickly found out how to turn off the holographic screen.
"Hey no offense but you just threw a trash can at the guy, at least Grandpa shot him. It doesn't make you much of a Hero otherwise.", Alex said as he didn't bother looking at her, he was too fixated at all possibilities of the Aliens within the Omnitrix.
"Hello, Earth to dumbass, you're only a big hero because you found that watch. If I had gotten it, I'd be a lot better and I would at least have people noticing me.", Alice said as she had sometimes imagined what it would be like to wear it.
Alex presses the button that wasn't facing him, causing the core to lower itself and leave it waiting for its next activation. "Okay fine," he said as he pulled out the new item he got, which was the charm and placed it in front of her. "Just take it, I got a ton of stuff."
Alice smiled and picked it up off the table. "... thank you. I guess.", she said with a slight embarrassed blush.
In the ambulance, an EMT is monitoring the warlock, now known as Hex, a man who... well by all counts doesn't exist publicly. One of his charms suddenly glows bright yellow and he wakes up. "My destiny shall be fulfilled." He said ominously as he blew out the back of the ambulance and floated off.
At a restaurant just titled... well 'Restaurant', the trio are eating crawfish, which is pretty good ironically. "I've been counting, you've had eleven crawfish to my nine.", Alice said as her charm unknowingly glowed yellow
"Well that sucks, I'm making it an even dozen.", Alex smirked as he was about to stab the crawfish before she knocked the fork out of his hand.
"Yeah, no.", Alice said as the fork hits a waitress in the foot, causing her to toss the glasses on her tray in the air in pain. One of the glasses catches on a chandelier, causing it to spin. The glass is then tossed into the kitchen, disrupting the cook and making him run into a cart with a bowl of live crawfish. The cart then rolls back into the table that Alex and Alice are sitting at, sending the bowl of crawfish straight onto Alex. "Thank you," Alice playfully said as she ate the last crawfish."
"Oh great.", Alex rolls his eyes before a crawfish slithers up his nose, he winced and blew it out aggressively. Alice and Max just laughed at his expense, but Alice finally took notice of her charm, which had stopped glowing as soon as she looked at it.
At the witchcraft museum, Hex is sorting through all of the books looking for the Archamada Book of Spells, and by that, he's just throwing them around because he knows damn well what it looks like. While he does this, the guard is stuck floating in the air. "The Archamada Book of Spells, where is it?!"
"W-We put it in the vault!", the security guard said as Hex surprisingly lowered him to the ground and released his telekinetic grasp.
Hex simply walks over and quickly thought of a spell to go through this iron vault. "Lata Avidimona Lata!", he chanted as the vault crumpled into the shape of a coin. The book of spells levitated over to Hex. "I shall not be hiding from that pompous moron Adwaita no longer, instead, I'm taking my fight to him instead!" He exclaimed as he tried to absorb the power... but looked down. "The Charm of Luck and Probability is missing? Of course, that Mimic must've grabbed it during our battle."
The night passes onto morning , Alex and Max are sleeping in with the elder Tennant snoring loudly, so Alex looks to Alice, who happens to be missing. "Okay, that's strange," he said as he got out, put in his signature clothing and jacket and walked out.
She is in a basketball court with the charm active, tossing a basketball at the hoop behind her without looking. The ball does not even hit the basket, but yet another series of improbable events lead it directly to the net. "Nothing but the bottom of the net again." Alice said smugly.
"Since when where you so skilled at basketball?" Alex said bouncing the ball up and down.
Alice turned to him and smiled. "What can I say? I'm just lucky. It's like everytime it glows things just go my way," she said gesturing to the charm.
Max stepped out the RV with a yawn. "Nothin like a good night sleep. So, who wants breakfast?"
Just then, at a nearby construction site, an explosion causes the cables on a lift to break, leaving two workers stranded high above the ground and hanging by a thread. "Well isn't that unfortunate, welp time to-"
"Get to work.", Alice said as she ran to the RV. Alex looked at Max before shrugging and slamming down on the Omnitrix, becoming Spidermonkey.
He let out some monkey chirps and ran towards the direction of the construction site. "Help!", a man trapped in his truck by a steel beam yelled out.
Max nodded before transforming his prosthetic arm into a claw again. "You sure this one out Grandpa.", Alice said as Max turned to her, she's wearing a makeshift black and purple outfit, wearing a purple scarf and a cat mask, the charm on a string wrapped around her neck like a necklace. "Mistress Fortune's got this!"
Using the incredible power of the charm, Mistress Fortune is able to rescue the man simply by jumping on a nearby wooden board. The board hits a demolition crane which drops its large wrecking ball, knocking the bar away. The bar sets off an elevator in the process.
Spidermonkey had finally made it to the workers, before he looked down as he was sent flying by the elevator. He had got thrown up had broken it into pieces when he falls back down, which heads straight for Mistress Fortune. "Mistress Fortune look out!", Max yelled at his disguised Granddaughter who dodges the falling debris, eventually finding her way to a cement truck. She accidentally releases the brake, causing it to roll back and hit a large metal chute. The chute hits the other Splitxlaw, who's clinging a wall, and sends them into the cement.
At the same time, the chute lands in the perfect position for the workers to slide down it. There's a soft cushion already in place for them to land on.
With everyone saved, Spidermonkey stumbled around and tried taking off the cement covering his pristine fur. "So how did you preform such an amazing rescue?" A news woman asked, interviewing Mistress Fortune.
"With style." Mistress Fortune said looking at Alex, as if mocking him. "Who's your hero?", she said with a smile on her face as they crowd cheered.
"Is it me or is she a little cocky?", Spidermonkey shrugged before crawling away to transform back. "Fuckin crock of shit."
Meanwhile, in another part of town, Hex is searching for the charm. He catches the report about Mistress Fortune on television, and sees the charm around her neck. "There you are." He said smirking.
"So I've been cross referencing the Archamada Book of Spells right? And I found this," Alice turned the computer to Alex who had been trying to dial up new aliens still, or just tryna find out if there's a better way to use it. "They're called the Charms of Bezel, this one you gave me is the Charm of Luck, but there's others for fire, levitation, electricity, reincarnation."
"Yeah, that weird warlock dude had those charms too now that I think about it.", Alex said scratching his chin.
Alice nodded. "Maybe that's why he wanted the book of spells? But it says all charms must be gathered for the spells to be at their full potential, oh well, his lost is my gain." She said smugly.
"More like was, with that around your neck you're a sitting duck. I'll be taking that away and hiding it.", Max said as he knew a few Technician outposts nearby.
"What?! No fair!", Alice shot up as Alex cocked an eyebrow. "People need the power of Mistress Fortune."
"I get why you're like this, but I agree with Grandpa, we can't keep that here.", Alex said crossing his arms, before he had to adjust his glasses again.
"Wha- you're just jealous because I'm the one actually doing work while your transformations are doing it for you!", Alice shot back with a glare.
"And you're acting like those aliens aren't reflections of me. Tough talk too, since you're not even doing it yourself," Alex said with a little raspy chuckle. "It's that charm making sure you don't get hurt. I'd say if you only had your bō staff you would've gotten hurt dozen of times over."
[And in the News of the Weird, reports are coming in that the city's fame haunted history mansion has come alive. Trapping dozens of visitors inside.] the man on the radio said as Max grew a stern look.
"Already on it." Max said as he changed course to the haunted house.
The trio arrived at the famed Haunted House, Alex jumps out the RV gets ready to help. Once again, he's cut off by Mistress Fortune. "Back off I got this!", she said running past him."
"Guess we're throwing caution out the window.", Alex rolled his eyes as he followed her, Max close behind. As the three head inside, things are exactly as what the reporter said. Most of the house is alive, moving about randomly and endangering the people within.
Hex is there too, having set up the whole thing to lure her. "In order to take my charm back, I must put innocent lives at risk... so be it.", He continues to bring the house to life in an attempt to get the charm from Mistress Fortune.
"Everyone stay calm, I'm here!", Mistress Fortune said as she started running to the stairs, as she did the boards flew off and almost hit Max and Alex, who dodged as soon as they saw it.
Alex ran behind a pillar and activated the Omnitrix. "Don't need luck, just need a Parasyte and skill!", he said slamming down on Parasyte's icon.
While Alice tries to rescue the people on the balcony. Hex continues his magic, causing Gwen to be stranded on a pillar. The people on the balcony have now been moved to the middle of the room and are about to fall. One actually does, but Max catches her. Four Fist then shows up to catch the balcony before it tips over completely. "I got this, you get them."
Alice nodded with a smiled. As he holds on to it, Mistress Fortune goes to save them, rocking the pillar so she can grab onto the chandelier in the middle of the room. She then swings to the people so they can grab it, as well. As they swing back to safety, Strongarm is tossed away by the swinging balcony, nearly hitting the woman that Max saved. Meanwhile, the chandelier that Mistress Fortune and the others are hanging from collapses. Again, the charm keeps that from being a problem, since the wire that is connected to it stops it just before they hit the ground. The last of the people run out of the house just as Hex seals it.
"Hello child, be a good girl and give me my goddamn charm back!", Hex hissed as he was tired of the delay as he restrains Mistress Fortune with yellow-colored magical mystical energy and tosses her across the room, demanding that she give up the charm. As is expected, the charm turns the situation in her favor, causing her to land on a curtain. The curtain then falls on Hex and tips over a suit of armor.
"Didn't your mommy ever tell you to say please?", Alice facepalmed. "Great now I'm sounding like Alex.", she said runs off. Hex gets up right after and follows.
Mistress Fortune ends up in a study with no way out. "Okay, this is just creepy.", thankfully the charm guides her, leading her to a switch for a secret door. As she heads down the passage. Hex had found it, smiling a little bit.
Within the passage, Misteess Fortune and Hex end up in the catacombs of the house. Hex finds her rather quickly. "Eterla Morbulous!"
But thanks to the charm once again allows Mistress Fortune to escape. This time, she leans on a stone and knocks it out of place, dropping the roof on Hex.
But to her shock, he had shielded himself and continues to chase her. As he tries to blast her, Mistress Fortune's charm drags her to the floor, making an opening for her that leads into the graveyard.
In the graveyard, Mistress Fortune tries to hide behind a tree. Unfortunately, Hex has thought ahead and uses some branches to restrain her, this time her charm didn't work. One of the branches ripped the charm away and threw it at Hex, smirking as the branches blocked her vision.
After a short period of time, Max had ripped off the branches with his mechanical arm, Four Fist on guard just in case. "Thanks a lot.", she smiled as Max walked to search for him.
"Did you catch where he was heading?" Strongarm asked helping her up.
They then look for Hex, who's floating in the middle of the graveyard. With all five charms now in his possession, as well as the Archamada Book of Spells. "I hope you all could forgive my actions for today," his eyes, filled with so much sorrow you couldn't imagine what he's done to get here. "I can't allow Adwaita to track me... so I beg for forgiveness.", his eyes glowed yellow, along with all of his charms.
"Rava Eelartas Gallametroy.", Hex chanted as he starts attacking the city with lightning and a rather large swirling vortex in the sky. "Citaro Macola-!" He turned to see Strongarm tackling him into a nearby mausoleum.
Max and Alice had made it down the stairs before Strongarm leapt back up. "Stay back."
Hex's staff levitated off the ground and floated to an annoyed Hex. "You must be that mimic from before. It won't go like before." He said as his eyes went white. "Gargelia Vortium!" he chanted, causing his staff to expel a red gas that slithered into the animal statues. Those being of two gargoyles, one small and one large and a Minotaur.
The living statues approached him, with the small gargoyle grabbing onto him and scratching his face, leaving some marks but not too much blood. The large gargoyle jumps onto him, wraps its tail around his head and bites his left shoulder. The minotaur tackles him to the ground. The statues prove to be somewhat effective, succeeding in taking Strongarm away from the scene.
"Now, back to business.", Hex said as he was about to recast his spell, only for a rock to hit his ankle. "Ow my fucking-!"
"Looks like luck can only take you so far.", Alice said as she threw another rock, which connected to his face and knocked him out. Even with Hex unconscious, his magic persists in the stone creatures. The smaller gargoyle tries to attack Mistress Fortune and Max.
Max lifts up a large pipe with some cement attaches. "It's going, going and!" he used all his old man strength plus his mechanical arm and hits the creature with it, reducing it to dust. "GONE!"
Meanwhile, Strongarm is tossing around the two larger ones. He smirked as he pulled out one of the Stone swords The larger gargoyle roses and leaps at him, attempting to get him from behind before the Tetramand used his added speed and power to reduce both the sword and the gargoyle to dust. The stone Minotaur roared and threw a boulder at the red alien, who dodged that and a tackle, causing it to go into a wall.
Using this opportunity, Strongarm then gets the Minotaur in a headlock. He squeezes until its head breaks apart. "There we go." He said dusting his shoulder off.
With the creatures out of commission, Mistress Fortune takes Hex's charms. Hex wakes up and notices this, but before he could do anything, Strongarm grabs him and throws him into a coffin. "Time for the magician to disappear!" He said smirking as Max then shuts the lid on him.
"I could fly, shoot out bolts if electricity, bring trees to life, I could be unstoppable.", Alice said as she took off her mask and looked at the charms with a smile. "But... not yet, I'm not ready. So being me will have to do.", she said as she dropped the charms, picks up a nearby shovel and smashes the Five Charms of Bezel, releasing blue-colored energy into the sky, creating a short light show.
When Hex is let out of the coffin, the police are there to arrest him. As the trio drive off in the RV, "Y'know you two are a pretty impressive team.", Max said as Alice shook her head.
"We made one, now that I'm not Mistress Fortune anymore.", Alice said with a sigh.
Alex looked up from his new issue of Tombstones, and adjusted his glasses. "Well you did the right thing, destroying those charms." He said before sitting back up. "You did a pretty good job."
Alice tried to comprehend this before hugging him. "Thanks a lot."
