Koga & Co.

If Koga was being really honest, it wasn't about Kagome. Not really. Yeah, he wanted her, but he wasn't a stupid man. He knew she didn't love him back but by god it was fun to piss off that mangy mutt.
At first, Koga truly meant what he'd said about Kagome being his woman. There was no one better to serve as the alpha female. Loyal, kind, self-sacrificing…she was everything a good alpha should be. And yet she was stuck playing second fiddle in her pack which was insane. Offensive even. Worse yet, she clearly had a thing for Inuyasha and Inuyasha…Inuyasha was too stupid or cowardly to do anything about it. Once it was obvious Kagome was never going to abandon this stupid jackass, Koga had changed tactics.
His goal became forcing Inuyasha to get his head out of his ass and give Kagome the love and respect she deserved. The goal turned out to be a futile one – Inuyasha was pathetic and a disgrace to demon-kind. Unable to use words or action to get what the half-breed clearly wanted. Let his chosen mate get injured, get sick…
So Koga changed tactics once again. If Inuyasha wasn't man or demon enough to do it, then maybe, just maybe, the wolf had a chance after all.
Then, of course, he'd gotten his jewel shards stolen and Kagome disappeared and/or died. Inuyasha was off acting like he didn't notice the difference and Koga stopped caring what Inuyasha was doing. Kagome was gone and it was that bastard's fault. And even though Kagome had never been his, Koga knew she would've wanted him to be happy. Would've wanted him to live.
And so he mated Ayame. Which probably wasn't fair to the girl but when Koga made a commitment, he stuck with it. And he was committed to Ayame. For life. When Kagome made her reappearance, he didn't seek her out. Didn't keep tabs. She'd made her choice…
And he'd made his.
