Chapter 10:Mystery Solved
Soon, Charlie Brown, Mumble, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Snoopy, Woodstock, Gloria and the Amigos arrived at the No Name Grave.
"Wow! Just wow!" Nestor said.
"Yep. That's an empty grave alright!" Snoopy thought.
"It's even more mysterious than I've been told." Gloria said.
"Remember when I said all that stuff about the No Name Grave being crazy?" Ramon asked. "I take it all back. This is amazing!"
Just then, they heard a violin played badly which startled them.
They then see the man that chased them away.
"Go away!" The man said. "All of you!"
"Not until we find out what you're doing here!" Gloria said as she confronted him.
"I've come back for what's mine." The man said.
"What are you talking about?" Raul asked.
"Things in the grave." The man said. "I come back for them, that's all."
"You do realize that there's a person buried here!" Peppermint Patty told him.
"No, it's not like that." The man corrected her. "The coffin wasn't for a person."
"What was it for then?" Linus asked.
"It's a place for safe keeping." The man said. "I just can't get rid of you people and animals, can I? I might as well show you."
The man led Charlie Brown, Mumble, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Snoopy, Woodstock, Gloria and the Amigos to where a bunch of stuff was laid on a blanket.
"There was an immigrant family that came to this country sometime in the 1840s." The man said. "They ended up here. When Hennepin County was barely Hennepin County. They tried to start a fire, but it failed. And they had to move on. But before they did. They buried their valuables."
"Why would they bury their valuables like that?" Marcie asked.
"It was an act of faith." The man continued. "You leave behind what you love and you're bound to return to it. They hope to come back and try to farm again."
"But why make it look like a grave?" Mumble asked.
"So that no one would disturb it." The man said. "Not even by accident."
"And they never made it back?" Marcie asked.
"No." The man said. "But I did. I'm their great grandson, Simon Lazlo."
"How did you know about this place?" Charlie Brown asked.
"From a story that my parents and my grandparents always told." Simon said. "I decided to come back and see if there's any truth to it."
Simon held up his violin and said "I especially hope to find this."
"Do you play?" Linus asked interested.
"I do." Simon said.
"Well, now that we figured out the mystery, I hope you'll record this piece of Hennepin County history for our archives." Gloria said.
"Yeah." Charlie Brown agreed. "Now we have the real story of the No Name Grave."
Peppermint Patty then remembered something and said "I just remembered something. Our school is having a picnic this afternoon."
She then looked at Simon and asked "Would you please come and be our guest?"
"Alright." Simon said.
"Man, that was such an adventure!" Mumble said. "We should have adventures like this again sometime."
"I agree, Mumble." Charlie Brown said. "I agree."
