Ghosts of the Past

"Ghost"

Drakken sometimes feels like there's someone watching over him.

Returning to Go City for a short time had seemed a way to repair broken bridges and then hurry off before they collapsed again. Instead she'd been lulled into a false sense of security and she and Drakken had stayed longer... too long.

That had been her first mistake.

Shego scarily remembered a time where she wasn't in some sort of danger. Either self constructed or trying to prevent. Time and time again through out her life, she felt as if she shouldn't skate death, but she did. So when she'd decided to leave that dangerous life behind and settle into a future she never thought she could have... she'd been scared. Afraid that all the avoidance of death would come spiraling back because she's let her guard down.

There was her second mistake.

Her hands shook as she looked at the writing on the pavement in front of her. Contrasting from the joy and delight she'd been filled with less than thirty minutes ago, when the world seemed in her favor. Fear and panic gripped her heart and airway as she read the words as carefully as her burning eyes could. She let out a shaky breath.

'The clock it ticks and chimes away. Make haste to find before end of day. Return to old and forgotten lands, or fate is no longer in my hands. Hurry quick, before its too late. Or Shego, my dear, you have sealed your beloveds fate.'

'Welcome Home, Shego'

'—Dweller'

Shego clenched her fists and cleared her head to focus.

The third mistake was assuming the ghosts of her past weren't still around. But a haunting doesn't just stop.

She would not make another mistake... she looked down at the ring on her finger of her clenched wrists. She glared. Dweller had gone too far in taking Drakken... and that had been their mistake.
