Annika's POV
The next couple of days went by in a rapid blur, it's already Thursday I'm getting off work in an hour's time. Everyday that I've been at work L comes with his laptop and sits in the farthest corner while I work. I always serve him, I don't let Kiara or Giana near him, I didn't want them to bother him and I didn't want them asking questions about us. Sunday we had opened up to each other so much it paved a path to these wonderful past couple of days. When I woke up Monday morning I was surprised that I was in my bed, because I had fallen asleep on L. I guess he put me into bed. When I arrived at the Cafe that morning it wasn't even ten minutes into my shift when L showed up with his laptop. He gave me a polite wave and sat at the farthest table. We talked on my breaks and there have been a few times this week where he managed to make me laugh to the point people started to stare, that's when I would glare at him.
I've really enjoyed the past couple of days, tomorrow we are having the 'Challenge'. L explained to me that Watari really wants to meet me, apparently I'm a good influence on him. I had to chuckle, right now I was waiting for four green teas and one earl grey to finish so that I can get them to the people. Only about two more minutes, when they finished I set five cups on the tray along with a bowl of sugar, yes one of the green teas was L and he already needed more sugar. Heading out of the kitchen I deliver the drinks, two to one table, the earl grey to an old guy sitting alone and one to another customer by themselves.
The last drink on the tray is L's. Looking at him from a distance, I can see that he is actually working really hard, I think this is his second case, I know he finished the last one yesterday. Boy he's fast, he's sitting in his odd position with his feet pulled up. I told him he could come in socks to the cafe once since he left his shoes at my house and now he's made a habit of just wearing socks. I walk over to him and place the tea on the table along with the sugar. I kiss the top of his head and ruffle his hair, "Don't think too hard now." He looked up from his work and smiled "I'm never lazy in any case." I contradict him "Except when you were texting me that one time." He rolled his eyes, "Only you have the guts to bother me." I giggle "You texted me not the other way around." He just snorts and puts sugar into his tea. "Go do your job." I ruffle his hair again and walk away with a smile.
L's POV
Honestly I anticipated every moment that Annika interacted with me. I looked forward to her ruffling my hair and the small pecks. She surprises me all the time, like how she composes herself to other people, and how she holds herself up. Honestly what surprised me the most was after spending a whole day with Annika, Sunday night I had fallen asleep. Granted only for an hour or two I woke up confused. I haven't fallen asleep without medicine for a long time. Unconsciously I watched as she walked away, "Nice ass" it was devil L, this is his first appearance in a while. I shake my head and look back at the case. Apparently there is this woman running around and killing pregnant ones, so far both my suspects aren't able to have children. She is good at running away too. The cops almost had her but she did like some parkour shit and got away, I examined my suspects. They both look athletic, but something about the one woman makes me look at her a little closer. These are both mugshots the cops have taken of the women by my demand. This specific lady is smiling, then I examine her shirt, there are letters peeling off, and they look strangely like something from the crime scene, I look at the date of the photos and see this is taken only a few hours until one of the victims was murdered. I examine the object found on the scene and I think I know my killer, such an easy case.I review both suspects statements about their wereablouts around the time of the murder, the lady smiling said she was gardening and the other lady was in a work uniform. I was confident in my decision, I sent the email to Watari stating who I convicted and then I shut my laptop. I sighed and looked around the room, while taking a sip of the tea. I wondered where Annika I had to turn my neck to a weird angle and then I saw her at a table behind me taking the order of another guy. He was alright looking and he just made her laugh, I felt something, I'm not sure what it was. I turned around and drank the rest of my tea. I didn't know what to do honestly, Annika's busy with that guy, I heard her laugh again and I felt my eye twitch. I closed my eyes and took even breaths, it's fine she's just interacting with her customers.
I remind myself that customer service is key and that she's got to be nice, if she is they'll give her a nice tip. When I look over to the side I see her going back behind the counter. She ducks down and grabs a piece of chocolate cake and brings it back to the man. She nods to him and she walks away. I released a breath I didn't know I was holding. I needed to calm down. It's not like she likes him, I know she likes me. I assured myself a couple of times and then I thought about something, we really haven't gone out on a date. I know the challenge is tomorrow so maybe I could take her somewhere Sunday, the cafe is closed then. Maybe I can take her to a fancy restaurant, but what if she doesn't like it. Maybe just to dinner and a movie, pretty simple. I'm not that good at swimming but if it's something she likes to do I'll be willing to do so.
I was so lost in thought I didn't see Annika walk up to me, I hadn't really noticed until she tapped my shoulder. When I did look up I saw her wonderful smile and her eyes staring back at me like I was her favorite person. I couldn't help but smile back, and when she did talk it was like the first time I heard her voice, "So do you want more tea or anything like cake?" I had to stop myself from asking if I could just have her. "Uh I could go for some strawberry cake but no more tea." She nodded and walked behind the counter. I was such a lucky man, I looked behind me at the guy she served earlier and I noticed when he stared at her on her way back to the table. So before she reached the table I put my feet on the ground and when she placed the plate on my table I sat her on my lap. " You deserve the world, but since I cannot give that to you, I will give you the next best thing, which is my world." And I kissed her lightly on the cheek, she giggled "Ryuzaki I think that's the sweetest thing you've ever said to me. And if I could I would turn around on your lap but the booth isn't big enough, so when I get off work I'm going to give you a big kiss, but since I am still on duty I have to get up." I groaned. "Do you really have to go?" She just giggled and ruffled my hair "Calm yourself now."
When she stood up she kissed my forehead. I frowned but smiled when she left. Yup she loves me. Satisfied with myself I dug into my cake before I looked over my shoulder to the guy, I noted he looked pissed. Yup she's mine and you can't have her, I think to myself. I was being smug as I ate my cake, but then I had a better idea, I moved from where I was sitting so that I was facing him, he gave me a nasty glare. When I finished my cake I looked up to the guy again. He was looking at me with a death glare, I just smiled and then looked around for Annika. She was just coming out behind the counter and she walked over to that guy's table, he looked at her with a big smile on his face and then started talking to her. His eyebrows furrowed, then I saw Annika blush and shake her head no. She grabbed his plate and walked away, I could tell she was flustered. When she came over to my table she smiled at me, "So how was the cake." I looked to the guy then to her, "My cake was delicious, but not as tasty as you are." She blushed really hard and giggled at the same time, "Ryuzaki, what has gotten into you lately, you're making me blush like a damn first grader when she sees her crush." I smiled "Oh but it's true, I can't help what I feel." She laughed again and took my plate, "I'll be off in like ten minutes so you calm yourself, and I'll be out soon." I couldn't wait. When I looked back up at the guy he looked even more pissed than before. I stood up and decided I was going to go get some fresh air. When I walked outside I noticed I had a shadow. I leaned against the wall outside the cafe and waited for the shadow to show itself, it was the guy from the coffee shop. He walked right up to me "May I help you." I ask, he looked angry, "Yeah I wanna know why the hell you're stealing my game, I basically had that girl in my pocket before your ugly ass budged in." I just chuckled and crossed my arms, "She's actually mine, and I'm afraid she'll never be yours." He threw a punch and I ducked, "You Mother Fucker" he yelled. I chucked again, the next punch he threw missed also soI did him a favor and knocked him on his ass by kicking his feet from under him. 'Thanks for the nice little chat." I said to him as I went back inside. Satisfied with my megar encounter.
Annika's POV
I was wondering where L had gone but I saw him walk back inside not even a minute later. I was waiting at the one guy's table. His name was James I believe, I was waiting for him to reappear so he could pay, it was really weird that he had asked me out, and it was flattering but I ' LL better than anybody else. Finally just a few minutes after L walked in I saw that James walked in too. He had sorta a limb but I ignored it, when he sat back at the table I spoke "Your total is 5.50." he grunted and handed me $10. "Keep the change." he said, I shrugged my shoulders, I went back behind the counter and put what he owed into the register and kept the tip he gave me. Then I walked over to L's table. "Your total is 20.60." he smiled at me and handed me 21 dollars. "You don't need my money you already have it." I laughed as I walked back and put his money in the register. After that I walked to the back room and clocked out. Then I went to my locker and deposited the apron and notepad, and grabbed my phone and keys. I walked back to L, and patted him on the shoulder, "Come on let's go." He stood up with his laptop and kissed me wrapping his arms around my hips laptop and all, "Finally" he mumbled against my lips. I kissed him back but only for a moment then I pulled away, "Lets go, my car is just outback." As we walked out I saw James still sitting at the table and I had never seen anyone so pissed.
I shake it off and just smile as L and I make our way over to my car. Once we get there he leans me against the car, and whispers into the shell of my ear, "Finally we are alone." I expected him to kiss me but instead he backed away and went to the passenger side of my car amazingly he hasn't dropped his laptop yet. Once we were both in the car I heard him clear his throat, "I uh I uh knocked that guy James on his ass outside the cafe, he followed me out when I went to get some fresh air and he was all pissy he tried to hit me twice but he missed so I kicked his feet out from under him. It was actually pretty funny. Believe it or not, honestly I didn't appreciate the way he looked at you so it may have pissed me off." I punched him in the arm, "Dude like you are so protective, besides you're a trillion times better than that guy." He chuckled and then leaned back into the seat. "Yeah I just want to get rid of the competition you know, I'm not the greatest looking fish out there." I snorted "You're the most handsome fish I'd ever seen." L's laugh was full of life. I just looked at him with a smile on my face, again how in the hell did I get so lucky? "Annika?" L looked amused "Did you hear what I said?" I shook my head no, "I said you are probably the best person I've ever met" I squealed "Awwe L!" I leaned over and kissed him. He greatly accepted the kiss and I think he would have taken it further if I hadn't pulled away, "So what do you want to do?" L though for a moment "Let's just go relax at your place, unless you want to hang out in my hotel room." Not wanting to deal with hotel traffic I made the decision quick, "Back to my house it is." I start the engine and like I always do shiver at the sound. L hasn't been back to my place since Sunday night, I usually just talk to him when I get off work if he's not working on a case, but I always kiss him good night, and wait for Watari to pick him up, Watari is a very nice man. I've only talked to him once and that was when he thanked me for getting L to eat the pizza, then he said he was looking forward to watching our challenge tomorrow. We stopped at a red light and I looked over to L who was on his laptop, he's adorable even when he's concentrating on a task. Soon enough we were back at my apartment building and parked really close to the stairs, as close as you can get in a parking lot. I cut off the engine and climbed out the car, L soon followed.
When we got upstairs I walked to my bedroom and went straight to my dresser to pick something more comfortable out, I decided on a rolling stones tee and a pair of exercise shorts. I pop my head out to peer into the living room L was on the couch with his head laid back, "I'm going to change real quick, don't do anything stupid." I shouted to him but he just ignored me. I went into my bathroom and shut the door, quickly changing into my clothes and throwing the ones I had on into the clothes bin. Looking into the mirror I flash myself a thumbs up and I walk back out to the living room debating if I should sit on the couch or open the balcony door and chill out. I decided to sit on the couch next to L, I can chill out later, I have L with me right now so better enjoy it. "What do you want to do?" L didn't respond and I looked over at him, maybe he's asleep, I crawl into his lap and stare at his face, I couldn't really tell and if he was sleeping I didn't want to wake him. So I just made myself comfortable in his lap and closed my eyes.
L's POV
I woke up to a muffled moan, I didn't realize that I had fallen asleep until I woke up, Annika's sleeping on my lap with her arms around my next and her legs wrapped around my middle, her head lays between my shoulder and neck like she always does when she hugs me. I was going to guess the moan was hers. I look around her apartment. Nothing new, her kitchen looks really clean. I felt Annika squirm and moan again, she's dreaming. Of what, I want to know because it's probably something very very interesting. I whispered in her ear "Annika." She responded with a muffled version of L, it was more drawn out, yet I could tell that she was asleep. I had an idea, I'll tickle her awake. So first I go for her belly. She squirmed, not really that ticklish there huh. Maybe under her arms. She threw herself back but I caught her. "Hey you." I say to her suddenly she slaps me. "Oww what was that for?" I rubbed my face, "Never tickle me awake. That is the worst way to wake a person up, I was having a good dream too." She was pouting. "Besides I only fell asleep because you went to sleep." I smiled at her, "If I fell asleep that means I'm comfortable in your home." I think I'll tell her, "I actually don't get much sleep, I'm an extreme insomniac, which means it's hard for me to sleep without taking medicine but I don't take it often, it helps me to do cases." Her pout quickly diminished, but she didn't frown. She had a small smile "I guess it's good I let you sleep then." She hugged me like she had been when she was sleeping on me. "Why don't you tell me about your dream." I heard a muffled "No." I'll get it out of her, "Come on tell me." She shook her head side to side. "I'll tickle you." She looked up "And I'll punch the shit out of you." I chuckled "Just tell me!" "No it's my dream so my privacy." I looked in her eyes for a moment and said, "You don't love me." I whined. She punched my arm "If you say that again I'll slap you again." She looked serious, "Man, just tell me your dream I won't tell anybody, I mean I don't really know anybody beside Watari but I wouldn't tell him." I pouted. She rolled her eyes, "I'm not telling you and that's final, maybe another day." She smiled at me, I returned it "Fine, so what do you want to do?" She got up off my lap and walked over to the kitchen, "It's 5:30 I was asleep for like an hour and a half." She stretched her arms. Then she opened the fridge and bent over, "Nice ass!" It was devil L, why does he find it an open invitation to pop up whenever she bends over?
When Annika walked back to the couch she had two sodas in her hand, she gave me one and then she opened hers. "Honestly I don't know what to do." I remembered something I saw today on a list of date ideas, I know she had Netflix. "Netflix and Chill?" She laughed, and some of her soda spilled. "Where did you hear that from." I took a second to answer "Online, i-I I was looking for date ideas." That made her laugh even more, "Dude do you even know what that is?" I thought I had the right answer "When you watch Netflix and 'chill' or hangout like we are doing right now." I was really confident in my answer, it just made her laugh even more. "Hold up." She reached into her shirt and grabbed her phone. She typed for a while then handed me the phone "Read this." I looked down 'Netflix and Chill

I looked up at her with a shocked look on my face, "Are you serious." She laughed "That's the urban dictionary's definition." I blushed "I didn't mean that kind of chill." She just continued to laugh, "I know I know." She said in between laughs. When she stopped she wiped a tear from her eye. "Jesus you can be so funny without even trying." I smiled but I was still upset because I had no idea and who would even write a definition like that. "Well it could happen." It was devil L, I scratched the back of my head and in the process knocked him off my shoulder. "So can we still watch netflix?" She nodded but then when she got up off the couch and was almost to the TV she turned around "We can watch Netflix but we can't have too much 'Chill'." I chuckled, "Stop making fun of me." She just giggled, turned around and shook her butt. Then when she turned on the TV and the Xbox she turned around "But do you want to chill out." She pointed to the bottom drawer, I just smiled. "Sure why the hell not." She laughed herself and went into the drawer pulling out the books and opening the false drawer. Grabbing the pipe, the bag and Eben her lighter. I grabbed the controller off the table, and leaned back going into the Netflix app and looking for something. When she looked at the screen she squealed. "Have you ever seen Attack On Titan?" I shook my head no, "Well then put it on it's hilarious yet very very dramatic and tragic." And so I put on the show and left the controller back on the table. "Where's ." I asked aloud looking around, Annika shrugged "Probably in my room." I jumped up and went into her room looking for the cat, I saw a lump on the bed and walked over and poked it, it squirmed "Found you" I pushed the blankets off of him and picked him up and brought him out to the living room. He seemed cool about it, when I sat back on the couch I laid him in my lap he tried to run but I kept him still by scratching his head. Annika looked at me surprised, "He doesn't even let me do that!" I chuckled "Well I guess he likes me more." She just smiled "Another reason for why I like you had been added to the list." I smiled, at the moment she's finishing packing the bowl, and I focus on the TV, right now this little boy is sitting at a table with his family.
When I looked over I saw Annika get up to open the balcony and then she sat back on the couch. We passed the pipe back and forth, after it was cashed she packed another one. Being high isn't that different from being sober, it's all the same just way more intense. After the second bowl she looked at me "Another one or are you good." I pet , "Yeah it wouldn't hurt." She laughed and packed the pipe. I locked my eyes on the TV. The town had already been attacked by titans and now they are like teens or something I don't even know. Annika passes me the pipe and I take a hit then pass it back to her, "What's the point of this?" I ask gesturing at the TV. Annika exhales then hands me the pipe "Well Eren wants to kill all the titans and shit so he goes there to that training camp. It gets pretty intense." I took another hit and pondered over her statement, I looked back at the Tv after I handed her the pipe.. We kept quiet until it was cashed. I was really getting into the show. I watched her put away the pipe and she curled up next to me. She started to pet Mr. BusinessMan but he got up and walked away, "Man it's all your fault." She giggled and punched my arm. "Oh hush you have me instead." I chuckled "Well I already miss him." She crawled in my lap. "But you have me!" I exclaimed again with a smile on my face, she pouted and I chuckled, "You are just too cute for your own good." I caressed her face with my hand and watched as she sighed. She smiled at me and then crawled out of my lap and curled up to my side.
Annika's POV
Honestly I was having fun being cuddled up on the couch with L as we watched AOT. He was really comfortable, "Can you please tell me what your dream was about." L started whining. I didn't want to tell him, because it was a pretty graphic dream involving him and I was the only one naked, "No!" I said feeling my face heat up. He groaned "Why nooooot." I sighed, "Because it was really inappropriate." He picked me up and put me on his lap, "Come on, it can't be that bad." I looked at him for a second. He leaned in and kissed me, "You know you want to share." I couldn't help but smile, " Fine but only a small portion." He laid back on the couch and I straightened my back so I was sitting tall. I took a deep breath and then I started, "Well we were hanging out on the couch, suddenly we started kissing and one thing led to another." He looked at me in the eye, "Okay so, that's all." I blushed "We didn't even get to the inappropriate part that was PG." he laughed, "Wow and here I was thinking it was something juicy."
I pouted my lips and crossed my arms, "Is that not juicy enough!" He chuckled, "Clearly not." He said in a snob voice. We both laughed, I'm so gullible. I snuggled into his body heat. "I can't wait for tomorrow." He grunted, "That's right you're going to make me eat vegetables." I giggled and then he spoke again, "Wait, that reminds me, I was thinking earlier about how we haven't exactly gone on a date, so I was thinking dinner and a movie I don't know when but probably Sunday when the cafe is closed." I looked at him, my eyebrows raised, "Are you serious?" He nodded "I mean unless you don't want to." I hugged him, "You better make it worth my time." He chuckled "You know I will." I released him from the hug. "So do you want to stop this show and do something else." He looked at me, "What did you have in mind?" I smiled "I don't know why don't you turn off the TV and see." L threw me aside. I had seen him move fast before but that wasn't nearly as fast as him turning off the TV.
I'm sure this is not what L expected. Right now L and I are rolled up like a giant sushi roll with my comforter. We almost rolled off but L did something and we rolled back. The look on his face as we almost fell was priceless. I laughed and glared "That was not funny, we just almost fell off the bed!" I laughed even more, "But the look on your face, It was just so funny." He wrinkled his nose, "Bitch." It mumbled, "And you're an asshole." He looked me in the eye, "And you're a motherfucker." I smiled and replied, "Yeah whatever you cock-juggling-thunder-cunt." He broke out in laughter, "Nice one." "It's one of my personal favorites!" I replied, a smile still on my face.
We calmed down after a while and put our foreheads together, I relaxed and closed my eyes. Then I couldn't help but speak "You know, you are like the funniest person to see mad. You're just so funny when you're angry." I opened my eyes and stared into his. "Only someone like you can find anger hilarious." I smiled "You know it." He smiled back "You know I don't think I've ever met someone who makes me so happy." I leaned back a bit and stared into his eyes, he looked so vulnerable, I believe that he is telling me the truth. I couldn't believe it, how could I, the girl who doesn't like people, who is so overlooked, ignored, how out of all these things am I given him, a wonderful guy, a detective, a really good detective, who loves sweets and stands out find happiness in me. I felt so emotional but so happy, I didn't know what to think.
L's POV
Annika had leaned back a little to look at me, I saw so many emotions flashing in her eyes, she was happy, sad, fearful, but of what. But she finally stopped thinking and her eyes showed nothing but happiness. I didn't know what to say and she didn't seem to want to say anything, so I closed the gap between us. Kissing her made me shiver, her lips were always soft and now they were even softer to me, she was just so exotic to me, she makes me happy, she makes me lose my train of thought, she makes me feel emotions. And I didn't want to let her go. I ran my tongue against her lips, she opened her mouth, I quickly entangled mine with hers, god she just tasted so sweet to me. She leaned back from the kiss, "Hold on." She started to roll us out of the comforter. Once she had succeed she was on top of me, "Okay let's continue." I smiled "Rather eager aren't we." She just tilted her head and leaned in closing the gap, there was no need for her to even run her tongue against my lips, as soon as she started the kiss I parted my lips, I took my left hand and grabbed her waist, my other hand going to her hair, I pulled and she moaned. "Easiest way to make her moan." Devil L chuckled, I didn't care that he was there, I was too focused on the kiss, breaking the kiss I Iean closer to her ear, "You are the sweetest thing I've ever tasted." I tried to deepen my voice as much as possible, then I nibbled on her ear and lightly kissed my way down her neck then I got more insistent and went where her shoulder I sofly bit down on her neck, I felt her body shiver. "Hmmhm L." I sucked on the skin there for a while then when I leaned back I admired the red mark, "Now you're definitely mine." Annika looked at me "Never said I wasn't." I smiled "Just marking my territory is all." I leaned in, not quite closing the gap, "I think I'm in love." I whispered against her lips, she gasped and I dived into a kiss, she instantly responded, perfect for me. I ran my left hand to the small of her back but then I decided to go a little further, I went back to her waist and looked for the hem of her shirt, when I found it I ran my hand underneath it, then I ran my hands back to the small of her back, I rubbed tiny circles into it, she moaned softly, I loved her moans. I finally felt her hands move, she ran her fingers through my hair and I also felt one ball up against my chest. She pulled back and took a deep breath before I could make a sarcastic remark she leaned back in.
She moved her lips slowly, I followed her pace then she built it up again but this time it was softer, how did I get so lucky. I took my hand that was in her hair and stroked her face. She sighed, I smiled through the kiss, then she pulled away again. She looked down at me, her gaze was soft, "So what time are you going to get me tomorrow?" It wasn't what I was expecting but it was a good question, "I'd say around 12, unless you want us to pick you up earlier." She smiled, "Tomorrow is going to be funny." I chuckled "Indeed." I expected her to lean down for another kiss but she sat up instead. "Can I drive you home tonight." I shrugged "Why not, I have to tell Watari though." She nodded and got off of me, getting off the bed. "I'm hungry!" She whined while she stretched, "Of course, you are always hungry." She stuck her tongue out at me and started to leave the room. After about 2 minutes of laying in her bed I followed her out. She's standing in front of the fridge looking for something to eat. I looked over to the time almost 9:00 geez, time just seems to fly when I'm with her. I hope someday it will slow down so it never ends.
