Chapter 10

It was a few weeks later and Callie and Arizona were in the OR together. A small child had come into the hospital with several broken bones and her spleen needed to be repaired. Her and her family were in a car accident. Arizona was taking lead on the young girl's care. She and Callie were discussing their plans for the weekend when the monitors started going crazy.

'What is happening?' Callie asked.

Arizona did not answer, but focused harder on the child and felt around for the bleed.

'Arizona, what is happening?' Callie was getting louder.

Again, Arizona ignored the question and asked for suction from the scrub nurse, Bohkee. Callie was getting worried, the girl's stats were dropping and Arizona was still feeling around trying to locate the problem. Finally, after what felt like hours, but was only barely a minute, the monitors stopped beeping frantically and the girl's stats were returning to normal.

'I got it, Dr. Torres. How are you doing with the broken bones?' Arizona barely looked up from what she was doing to address the other doctor.

Callie was still a little shaken up. She took a breath to get back in doctor mode before answering. 'I'm almost done. Just have to set the arm and I'll be done… Doctor.' Callie was angry at being ignored and being addressed so formally by her girlfriend. She tried to remain professional and not let her emotions take over. It didn't take long for the arm to be set and placed in a soft cast. She would have an intern put it in a hard cast once the child was in her room and had some time to recover from her abdominal surgery. She took off her gloves and protective clothing and left the OR without another word.

She was done for the day so she ran up to the resident's lounge and changed back into her street clothes. She needed a drink and went over to Joe's to drink away her anger. She texted Amber to meet her at Joe's when she was done for the day. Luckily, Tyler was home so he would keep Maci at the house so Amber could be there for her friend.

It was another hour before Amber was able to leave the hospital. She made her way over to the bar and found her friend with a bottle of Tequila in front of her. 'Tequila is never the answer, Cal. What happened today? Did you lose a patient?'

Callie was clearly drunk and nearly fell off the bar stool when she turned and faced Amber. 'How come…" hiccup 'How come…' she tried again, 'we never tried having an ac..ac..actual relashuhship?' Callie finally slurred out.

'What?' Amber was confused. They were friends. She never thought Callie had romantic feelings for her. She thought it was just relief for both of them.

'You know, more than sex dummy. Me and you and dates and talking.'

'We are friends Callie. I met Tyler. You already know this.' Amber says.

'What about me?' Callie started raising her voice.

'Come on Cal. Let's go to your apartment and we can have this conversation. Come on honey.' Amber starts to move towards Callie, but Callie in her drunken state of mind thought Amber was going to kiss her. Their lips collide. A line they had not crossed in over four years. Callie gripped Amber's waist and tried to pull the woman closer. Amber managed to pull away and looked around. All of the doctors and nurses that were in the bar were now looking at them. 'Callie we need to get you home. Now.'

'Ooh, are we relieving some stress?' Callie purrs out.

'Sure, Cal.' Amber was saying anything at this point to get the drunk woman home. 'Let's go relieve some stress.' She finally managed to get Callie to her feet and out the door. They struggled to cross the street and up to Callie's apartment. 'Where is your key?'

'It's in my back pocket. You'll have to reash in and get it.'Callie said in the other woman's ear.

Amber rolled her eyes and reached into her friend's pocket. She pulled out the keys and opened the locked door. She dragged Callie in and plopped her down on the couch. Callie grabbed ahold of Amber's shirt causing the woman to lose her footing and fall onto the couch. Amber grabbed Callie by the face and looked straight into her eyes. 'Cal, st…' It was at this moment that Arizona came in the door.

'Wh..what is going on here?' She asked taking in the scene of her girlfriend on the couch and her friend practically straddling her and holding her face.

'She's drunk.' Amber says removing herself from Callie's lap.

'And the fact that April called me from Joe's and said that you and Callie were kissing and then left together?' Arizona tries to remain calm.

'Jesus, gossip travels fast. Yes, she kissed me. She texted me to meet her at Joe's and that she needed to talk to me. When I got there, she already drank nearly an entire bottle of Tequila. Then I said that we should get her home and she kissed me when I tried to get her to stand up. I did not kiss her Arizona. Believe me. And when you walked in, I was just trying to get her to the couch and she pulled me into her. I was trying to get her to focus and tell her to stop acting crazy.' Amber finally finished her explanation. They look back at the Latina and she is passed out on the couch with her mouth wide open.

Arizona turned back to Amber. 'I believe you. April said that Callie had been there drinking before you showed up. I think I made her mad today.'

'What happened? I mean, she did say she needed to talk, but I didn't know what about.'

'I ignored her in the OR and then I felt her change. I didn't ignore her on purpose. I was trying to find a bleed in this little girl's abdomen and I was in full concentration mode. I faintly remember hearing her talk to me, but I did not respond until after I had everything under control. Then I called her…' Arizona trailed off. Oh no.

'Called her?' Amber encouraged.

'I called her Dr. Torres. We have worked together on several cases and we have always called each other by our first names unless we are talking directly with a patient or the family. I have never called her Dr. Torres in the OR.'

'Oh.' was all Amber could say. 'Well I think you might be in the doghouse Dr. Robbins.'

'Don't start, Amber.' Arizona shot a glare at the other woman.

'I had to pick a little.' Amber smirked. 'Let's let her sleep it off and maybe put a trashcan in front of her.' Amber hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether she should tell Arizona the part she left out earlier. She figured it was best to get everything in the open so that there were no secrets. 'Um…' she started, not sure how to say it. 'There was one other thing said at the bar and I'm not sure why she asked or what was going through her head. She was very drunk.'

Arizona nodded to encourage the woman to continue. 'She asked why we never tried to have a real relationship.' Amber said quickly.

'Oh, well what is your reason?' Arizona was pretty curious of this herself.

'I think it was a timing thing. I mean, you know for yourself, that she is gorgeous. It wasn't that there was no attraction. I just wasn't in a place to have a relationship. I wanted to finish med school and start working. We were roommates and our first time together was a drunken hookup. We woke up the next morning in bed together and it just kept happening. We never questioned it. We were still best friends during the day, but sometimes when we had that itch that needed to be scratched, one of us tiptoed to the other's bed.'

'But you met Tyler in med school.' Arizona countered.

'I did, right at the end, and it was an instant attraction on another level. I can't explain it. I love Callie, but I was not IN love with Callie and I didn't want to fake it. Maybe she had deeper feelings, but we never talked about it. I think we are overdue for that discussion. I need to know what she was feeling at the time. Would you be ok with that?'

'I would be. I thinks she needs closure.' Arizona says.

'I should probably head home. Are you going to be ok with her?' Amber asks.

'I got her. Give Maci a kiss from her favorite Zona.'

'Will do, and Arizona?' Arizona turns to look at the woman. 'I think that you and Callie are endgame. For what it's worth. Make her talk tomorrow. Make her see what happened. And apologize with multiple orgasms.' Amber winked and walked out the door leaving a blushing blonde standing in the living room.

When she got out to the street, Oscar, the flirtatious intern, saw her. 'So you and Dr. Torres, huh?'

Amber walked up to the young doctor and grabbed his collar in her fist. 'Me and Dr. Torres are friends. Just friends. Got that? And tell all your little intern buddies to mind their own business too. I'll make sure every single one of you are on stitches for a month. DON'T try me!' She let go of his collar and smoothed it down. 'Have a great night Oscar.' she said calmly as she walked to her car.

Callie woke the next morning with a headache and a body pressed into her back. She was very confused. She remembered asking Amber to meet her at Joe's and remembers the Tequila bottle placed in front of her, but she did not remember much after that. Was Amber wrapped around her? She carefully shifted and saw blonde hair. Arizona. Just then the Tequila was trying to make a comeback. She shot up off of the couch and ran to the toilet waking the sleeping blonde. As Callie was emptying her stomach into the toilet bowl, Arizona held her hair back and wiped her forehead with a damp cloth.

Callie settled back against the tub and hoped the room would stop spinning. She groaned loudly and Arizona could not help but to laugh a little. 'It's not funny.' she said clearly still aggravated from the previous day.

'Calliope, look at me honey.' Callie slowly raised her eyes to meet Arizona's. 'I know I upset you yesterday and I am sorry. I went into full doctor mode when that little girl was bleeding out and didn't realize until I got to your apartment what I had done. It was a stressful situation and I did not want to deliver bad news to the parents. Do you forgive me?'

'It just made me feel like just another doctor to you. I am your girlfriend and I understand when we are in front of patients, but we were in an operating room with an entire staff that know that we are in a relationship.'Callie said.

'I understand that Baby, but do you understand that the little girl's life was at stake. I needed to be a doctor and not your girlfriend in that moment.'

'I get it. I forgive you.' Callie said. 'I overreacted a bit.'

'Good. Now, how much of last night do you remember?'

'Arriving at the bar and ordering the Tequila, why?'

'Come here, I need to show you something.' They got off of the floor and Arizona grabbed her phone from the breakfast bar. 'Do you remember this?' she asked turning the phone for the brunette to see. Displayed was a photo taken at the bar of her kissing Amber on the lips.

Her eyes widened. 'Arizona. Oh my God. I don't remember that at all. I am so sorry. I love you. I don't want Amber. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.' Callie kept repeating herself until Arizona grabbed her arm.

'Callie, it's ok, well it's not, but you were drunk and Amber explained everything. You have a good friend Callie and I really think you need to have a long overdue discussion with her. She told me something that we also need to talk about, but you need to talk to her first.'

'What else happened?'

'You asked her why you guys never tried a real relationship.' Arizona said.

Callie groaned. 'No, no, no. Tequila is never the answer. Arizona, sweetie, I do not want Amber. Believe me. Please believe me.'

'I believe you Callie, but I think you need to call Amber. You guys need to talk.'

Callie called Amber and they set up to meet around 2pm at the coffee shop halfway between them.

'Ok, so now that you have that set up, I want you to take a shower and brush your teeth and meet me in the bedroom.' Arizona said with lust in her eyes.

'O…o…ok.' Callie stuttered out and practically ran down the hallway.

Once Callie was showered and had taken some aspirin from the medicine cabinet, she came out of the bathroom. She was immediately pushed towards the bed by a pair of surprisingly strong arms. Arizona backed her up to the bedframe and settled both of them on the bed. Arizona was kissing her chest and neck, licking and sucking, leaving marks that claimed Callie as hers. Callie was squirming and moaning underneath of her. She wanted Arizona to touch her. She could feel herself getting wetter with each kiss. Arizona was taking her time though and frustrating the Latina in the best way. Arizona took a nipple into her mouth and bit down causing Callie to hiss out in pain. She swirled her tongue around the hardened peak to soothe the pain away. She spent ample time on both breasts, kneading the flesh and pinching and pulling her nipples. Callie was lost in all things Arizona. She felt that she was everywhere, except where she wanted her most. Arizona trailed her fingers up Callie's inner thigh and crept higher and higher, just to slightly graze at her soaked mound.

'Arizona…' Callie pleaded. 'Touch me.'

'Patience Calliope. You will be touched and you will be screaming and begging for me to stop. Just enjoy.'

Arizona was now kissing her stomach and Callie was so turned on, it was almost painful. She was going to come and it was just foreplay. Arizona finally slid her finger through her folds and Callie came. She was so on edge already, she couldn't hold back. Arizona kept her slow pace while Callie rode out her orgasm. She wasn't going to let Callie come completely down and slid a single finger into her hot core. Callie gasped and moaned. Once again, Arizona took her nipple in her mouth and sucked. She was still pumping her finger in and out of Callie and added a second finger soon after. Callie was writhing, still completely turned on. Arizona added her hip to her thrusts to add to the pleasure. She switched breasts and Callie felt another orgasm building.

'Oh Arizona, don't stop. I am so close.' She panted out.

Arizona was not planning on stopping. She pumped her fingers a few more times and curled her fingers at the right spot just as Callie came for the second time that day. Arizona struggled to keep her fingers in her girlfriend's depths. Her hips were off the bed and her back was arched. This was an intense and powerful orgasm. Arizona kissed back down Callie's stomach and sucked her clit into her mouth. Callie screamed, loud.

'Oh my fucking God, Arizona. Oh oh oh oh. Yesssssss.'

Arizona added a third finger, Callie was still flying and just as she thought she couldn't take anymore, she came all over Arizona's face and the bed sheets were completely ruined. Arizona detached her mouth from Callie's clit and slowed down to gentle strokes in and out to let her come down and to catch her breath.

'Holy…fucking…shit, Arizona.' Callie panted. 'Damn Sweetness. That was incredible.' It took Callie a few minutes to get enough feeling back in her body to even move. Arizona had completely exhausted her. 'Give me a minute to return the favor.'

But Arizona was up off of the bed, and headed towards the bathroom. The sounds that Callie was making had made a mess of her panties, but her needs could wait. Not to mention, Callie squirted all over her. 'I'm ok Calliope. I think you need another shower though and we need to throw those sheets into the wash. You looked like you really enjoyed yourself there.'

'I really did. I think we need to shower together though. You know, just to save water.' Callie winked at Arizona. Ok so maybe there was time for a little more fun before Callie went off to meet with Amber.
