Opening his mouth trying to think of something quick to say back to the smug looking yellow ranger, Sky looked down at the woman in the bed before a smile perked upon his lips "No, but I do think you should highlight the chapter on privacy seems you've forgotten it all" Sky sat back in his chair. Seeing a moment to take the grin of Z's lips, Bridge smile as he lent forward a little, changing his posture slightly.
"Like how you were snooping around on Syd's side of the room and you found the box on her night stand that had th-"
"Okay, okay I get it Bridge" Holding up her hands in a mock surrender the yellow ranger rolled her eyes and shook her head as a new smile took a hold of her lips. Unsure of what Z had found in her's and Syd's room Sky looked towards his own roommate in question but he never got his answer.
It was amazing how just being around Syd made the mood so much lighter; they were able to recall good times without having the sting of pain that came from their hearts as they had been feeling without her around. Tilting her head a little, Z found the Syd's hand had fallen away from its place against her beloved stuffed animal, Peanut. One of the nurses must have moved it but the funny thing was she could have sworn that her hand had been against the grey plush when they had all sat down. Shrugging it off Z placed her friends against back against the toy and lent back into her seat.
"Cadet Landers" The booming voice of Commander Cruger made Jack jump slightly from his place at the windows, turning swiftly and dragging his fist across his chest as he met his commanding officers gaze. "Coming to me the way you did this morning shows that you do care for your team, however in this case I do believe that your actions were uncalled for. You ARE a good Red Ranger when your head is in the right place; you need to find the line between duty and loyalty. Whatever this problem is you are having with Cadet Tate, you need to get past it, both of you. I chose you as Red Ranger for more than just your powers Jack, its time you figure out for yourself what I saw in you"
"Sir?" Jack did not get the answers that he was requesting this time as he watched the metal sliding doors close as the large blue dog walked out of the common room, leaving the ranger alone with the words of the commander still in his ears. Still alone in the room, Jack sighed as he let himself fall back against one of the sofas leaning his head back trying to think of what the old dog saw in a street rat like him. As much as he had been forgetting to show it, Jack really did care about the team. He had gone to the Commander about Sky's wellbeing but had been so blinded that anger his clouded his words and what was meant to be relayed as concern was masked by temper. Sliding his hands back over his face a few times Jack was finally starting to see things without a temper fog to cloud him.
Reaching down and taking his morpher from his belt he half smiled, ironic how he was the red ranger and he had been like a bull in a china shop, waving his own red cape only angered him. Jack's mind found itself going back to the pink ranger who was in the infirmary and how she and him now shared a birthday because of her heart of gold. Sharing HER day with him because that was the kind of person she was. It was amazing how one person could make sure a difference within the team, she really was the heart in so many ways, and he just hoped they would get their heart back, without her the team really was dying.
Taking off her goggles, Doctor Kat Manx blew out a long breath, putting the crystal together piece by piece was exhausting and taking more than its fair share of time, looking away from the glass container and letting her eyes fall on the shards of green glass that lay in a neat configuration of the metal tray next to it Kat pinched the bridge of her nose feeling a headache slowly setting in. She had been at this for what seemed like days when it had only been hours, configuring the stone had been the easy part as it turned out, even with all of the shards set in order, placing it perfectly together was starting to get on her nerves. She needed a break even if it was only a short one it would recharge her mind and keep her more focused on the task at hand, she could as her faithful assistant Boom to help her with this task, but there were times that he could be a little clumsy. As it was she wasn't 100% sure that she had all the tiny shards in the first place, some may have been far too small to even bring back. Stepping away from her work space and walking around the lab a little bit Kat looked at the many gadgets that she had helped to create here at S.P.D and how they had come leaps and bounds in her time alone here; it was something that she was immensely proud of and would continue to be proud of for the remainder of her career.
The cat like humanoid found herself thinking back to when Bridge, Syd and Sky were D level cadets and how in awe they had been after their first simulation training session, the young teenagers looked as if they had really been in battle, hair slightly askew and uniforms crinkled. They may have only been young but Kat had known from the moment that she saw them that powers of not the three cadets would be Power Rangers, she had yet to see cadets with their determination even if they didn't seem to fit together in time they would all work together in sync.
Shaking her head a laughing softly to herself Kat remembered the memory with fondness, turning her head sharply as she heard the sound of the doors sliding open behind her. Boom entered as energetic and as loud as ever.
"Made any more progress" Walking over to the desk and inspecting remaining shards of crystal that they on the metal tray, waiting to be put back into place. His face orange as he looked through the glass, his image distorted slightly with the curve of the tube.
"About a 1/3 of way done, just taken a short break to recharge" Walking slowly over to her desk, Kat smiled politely at the man, he was always so willing to help and make progress.
"I could help you if you like" Kat had been expecting Boom to say something like that. Shaking her head again Kat reached over for her goggles and placed them back over her eyes as she took her placed back at her work desk.
"If you took over from me then who would do your task? Besides I still need someone test out RIC's new upgrade" Her green eyes had slight crinkles around them as she smiled up at Boom as she didn't want him to feel as if he wasn't helping because his positivity was what was helping her keep going in times like this.
"Oh yeah, right, I had forgotten about that" Scratching his chin as he stood up and left that laboratory in search to RIC. Kat could even hear whistling coming from down the halls, as much as RIC was a robot he was very much a member of S.P.D and he WAS a dog after all, so he did have the characteristic that canines had imprinted into his hardware. Picking up her tongs she got back to work, hoping that maybe it would be a little easier now that she had taken a break.
With his paws knitted together in front of him, Commander Cruger sat behind his desk in the control room, his jaw clicking slightly as he moved it side to side, his mind was on his troubled rangers and how he was going to fix the issue between Jack and Sky. Locking them in a room together had been an idea but one he knew would end with bruises and black eyes and would only make things worse. He had always known that Sky was stubborn and set in his ways, he had been that was since he was a child and even if he was slowly letting his wall down, Jack would only push them back up again unless they put their bad blood aside for good. Having young adults doing a serious job and living all together in close quarters would sometimes cause tempers but they normally resolved themselves by now, this had been going on for some time and it was time to put an end to it all.
Leaning back in his chair, Doggie Cruger brought one of his paws up to his chin, gently stroking against his jaw and humming in question to himself as he started to come up with a plan for his stubborn and big headed red and blue rangers.
Knocking at the door to the infirmary, Jack stood in the frame as he waited for permission to enter the room. Laughter and chatter stopped as Z turned her head and Bridge looked up at him. "Alright if I join, I'd like to hear some of the stories myself" The little chat he had with the commander a little while ago had really gotten to him, he needed to look past himself for what he was on the outside and take a closer look on inside instead.
"Come on, I'm sure Syd would love that you've come to visit her" Nodding his head towards his friend, Bridge smiled, but he did take not of how Sky had been yet to even acknowledge the red rangers presence in the room. Honestly Bridge didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. But he was surprised when he saw Sky nod his head softly in agreement to his comment.
Moving his chair a little closer to Syd's head, Sky had made room for another chair to enter the circle but at the same time keeping Bridge between him and Jack for the sake of keeping the peace in the room.
Picking up a chair from next to one of the bed in the infirmary Jack placed it down with a slight click besides the green rangers. Setting himself into the chair and resting his arms against the rest Jack looked over towards his friend in the bed, it was strange to see her like this when normally Syd was full of energy. Noting that Peanuts was under Syd's arm he no doubt knew that this had been Z's doing, even if she teased her about having the stuffed animal, Z also knew how the plush brought comfort when needed. Even Jack knew this and smiled warmly.
"So telling stories about Syd huh, so who's going next?" Jack looked between Bridge and Z, trying to cut though the tension that filled the room desperately, he needed to put aside his pettiness, even for a little while.
Storming into the room and throwing open the doors with an almighty force, Grumm entered the room that had once belonged to a little girl and now belonged to the same girl as a woman. His voice roaring and his eyes glowing red from their place inside of his skull. "STOP YOUR CRYING!"
Looking up from her place on her swing bed, Morgana quickly sat herself up, pulling Cindy Sunshine up close to her chest. The doll with only three strands of hair being clutched in the woman's hand as if it would protect her in some manner.
"You keep failing me, I don't know WHY I keep you around" Storming around the room the Emperor's steps causing vibrations to shake the room slightly with every step he took. "You had the power rangers in front of you, you even had the crystal with you and you lost it to a POWER RANGER" His words came out as more of a growl as he came to stop by the chains that held Morgana's bed up. His fingers gripped tightly around the silver metal as he stood, towering over the woman with else.
"It wasn't m-" Morgana quickly shut her mouth as eyes glowed so bright she thought they would burn her if she continued to look at them, her fingers playing with the dress of her doll as she leant back slightly away from Grumm.
"You should just be happy that I haven't vaporised you yet!" His voice rumbled from his chest as he let go of the chains with force, the swing bed jolting from the action and the chains of the bed creaked from the sudden motion. "You're just lucky that I still require you alive. But next time you might not be so lucky" Watching as the doors closed behind the emperor as he left, Morgana sighed as she looked down at the doll in her hands.
"Never seen him that angry before, he wouldn't vaporise me would he?" Asking only herself as huffed herself back onto her bed and hit her head against her pillow. "I really do hate those Power Rangers"
