Chapter 10- A Lot of Bad News

Jason scampered away from the glowing eyes as they got closer. Reyna was right behind him. Bob however stood tall.

"Who comes near?!" Bob yelled.

"Iapetus?" a booming voice questioned.

"Damasen?" Bob perked his head. "Is it you?"

A giant emerged from the fog. He looked tall compared to Bob, but was still short for a giant. He had cherry red skin. His face was scarred and he had a bushy beard. His hair was the color of rust, decorated with tufts of grass and leaves.

"DAMASEN!" Bob yelled and hugged the giant.

Damasen grunted. He pushed Bob away and stared at his clothes. It looked like some kind of leather.

"Look what you have done Iapetus?" Damasen said. "Good Drakon leather, ruined"

"Friends" Bob said, completely ignoring the giant's comment. "This is Damasen. He is a good giant"

Reyna coughed. "A good giant? Sorry Bob, but you really think-

Damasen grunted. "I helped the demigods Percy and Annabeth. Is that not enough?"

Jason nudged Reyna. He remembered Percy telling him about Damasen. The giant was the opposite of Ares. He was peaceful. Well, as peaceful as a giant could be.

Damasen held out his hand. Jason and Reyna grasped his fingers and shook them. He then pulled something from his leather pouch. "Drakon jerky?"

He swung something stringy in front of Jason's face. "No thanks" Jason clutched his stomach.

Bob on the other hand, grabbed the jerky and stuffed it into his mouth. "Hmmm" he said. "Good jerky"

Reyna cleared her throat. "Bob? Didn't you say Titans were coming? Damasen is a giant"

Suddenly Damasen's eyes widened. A massive sword sprouted from his chest. He keeled over and disintegrated. From the carnage came Krios, looking as smug as ever.

"You" Jason sneered. Jason remembered the time he had stormed Mount Othrys. It had been the titan army against the Roman half-bloods. Jason had fought Krios in hand-to-hand combat then, but he wasn't sure he could do it now.

"Ahh" Krios said. "Jason Grace! Beloved son of Zeus"

"Jupiter" Jason corrected him. "Did you forget you old mountain goat? I killed you. One-on-one"

"YOU DARE?!" Krios lowered his flashing eyes near Jason. His head was covered with a Ram's horn helmet. His eyes showed as small pinpricks of light through it.

"Don't forget boy" Krios growled. "This is Tartarus. Not the mortal world"

Jason glanced sideways at Reyna. She had a determined expression on her face, like she was ready to go down fighting. He looked at Bob, but the Titan wasn't there.

Krios raised his sword, ready to impale both the demigods. Before he could strike however, a silver spear smacked him sideways. Krios flew towards the cliff and caused a small landslide. The rocks buried him.

Bob huffed. "Bad Titan. He should have stayed away from Bob's friends"

Piper sprinkled some water on Carter's face. He gasped and sat up. His eyes were wide as he stumbled around the room.

Piper grabbed his shoulders. "It's okay. You're safe"

Carter looked around and saw Sadie. "What happened? Why was I on the floor?"

Piper shook her head. "After the lights, we don't know. You two just collapsed"

Sadie coughed at the other end of the room. "She's back" she repeated.

Carter shook his head. "This can't be happening"

The two magicians paused, like they were listening to something. Sadie massaged her forehead. "This is happening"

"What's happening?" Rachel asked.

Carter drew shaky breaths. "Horus and Isis are back"

Chiron approached Carter and knocked on his head. "Hello Horus. Do you remember me?"

Carter frowned and pushed Chiron's hand away. "He says he does remember you"

"Fascinating!" Chiron said in amazement. "I've never seen a host before"

"Trust me" Sadie scoffed. "It isn't fun"

"Wait a second" Piper interrupted. "You said the Egyptian gods had to retreat into the Ma'at, right? How are they back?"

Carter held up his finger. He closed his eyes and concentrated. He nodded and opened his eyes. "Horus said we don't have much time. They're here because of the threat"

"Set?" Chiron said.

"Yeah" Carter said. "We have to find out what all this means"

Sadie snapped her fingers. "That's it!"

"That's what?" Carter asked her.

"When Piper read the note from… Percy was it? We fell unconscious. That note must be the clue!"

Piper pulled out the piece of paper from her pocket. "It still says the same thing"

"Give it here" Sadie gestured. Piper passed Sadie the note. Sadie grabbed the note, and dropped it just as fast. Golden light popped around her.

"Ugh!" Sadie said. "I can't hold it!"

Carter tried touching it, but he couldn't either.

Chiron cleared his throat. "Magic and Celestial bronze don't like being mixed"

"Celestial bronze?" Sadie questioned.

"It's the stuff we use to make our weapons" Rachel explained.

"But how is the note Celestial bronze?" Piper asked Chiron.

"It's the ink" Chiron said. "Percy pen writes with bronze ink"

"Bronze ink?" Carter said. "Ugh. Let's talk about that later. We need to find out why Amos sent us here"

Rachel held up her hand in a stopping gesture. She began to glow green, light emanating from her eyes and mouth. Her feet left the ground as she began to float. Everyone in the room stared at her. Then, the voice of Delphi spoke-

Four shall travel to the First house of magic

Two shall return, carrying news tragic

Eye of Horus and Love together prevail

Eternal doom meets those who fail

Rachel collapsed to the ground and the green light faded. Piper rushed over and helped her up.

Rachel coughed. "What just happened?"

"You floated" Carter gawked. He turned to Piper. "Does this happen often?"

Piper shook her head. "I've never seen a prophecy delivered like that"

"Hold up" Sadie said. "That was a prophecy? Those things that tell the future?"

Rachel touched her head and groaned. "I thought my prophetic powers were faulty. What did I say?"

Piper repeated the prophecy. Carter clapped his hand on the chair.

"First house of magic!" He looked over at Sadie.

"The First Nome" she said automatically.

"Is that like your headquarters?" Piper asked.

"Yeah" Carter said. "The second line is pretty straightforward"

"Eye of Horus and Love together prevail" Chiron said. "Campers and Magicians need to work together"

Rachel glanced at Chiron. "What about…"

"Eternal doom meets those who fail" Chiron recalled. "Yes, that line worries me"
