Lady Miss Fortune Chapter 11: "Dead Akuma?"

Dranafile: Thank you! Hope you like the update ^w^

Androzani84: Oof I cleared formatting before copying and pasting it into the google word counter but idk it might still be wrong OwO

Spidermanladybug4eva: Hmmm interesting thought...you're kinda close, actually... ;)

Toshiro of the Eternal Dream: Yeah I feel bad for Chat/Adrien...I feel like he saved Ladybug, but he wasn't really expecting or thinking of everything that would happen afterwards, especially the fight. Also yes, Adrien had never really been rude to Ladybug, via he mostly argued with her as Chat.

Bedwardfanforever: They should stop arguing, smh... :S (Also, my friend is OBSESSED with Twilight, *or at least the books* so I've definitely heard of it, buuut I don't know the real plot or anything lol)

The bickering was still going on.

"If you hadn't-"

"You're talking over me-"

"No listen-"

"I already told you-"

"-I said for you to-"

"Stop cutting me off-"

"I can't believe you're just going to ignore-"

"You're literally talking over me-"

"I told you to stop cutting me o-"

"BUT I SAID-"

"I don't care what you-"

"-Listen!"

"-Then listen to me first!"

"I told you to st-"

"You stop-"

"How many times do I have to-"

Both of them kept talking over each other, and from this point on, you could barely make out anything. The akuma flew faster, eagerly eyeing the two superheroes.

Ladybug spotted it first, going silent immediately.

"So now you're listening to me?! Oh great, I suppose I could just-"

Ladybug shushed him, motioning towards the sky, where the akuma was circling above them.

"Yeah, like I'm scared of some fake akuma." Chat scoffed.

"What do you mean fake?!" Ladybug whispered, "It's REAL!"

"Real, as in Master Fu real, or real as in actually real?"

"I don't think this is what our kwamis had planned..."

"Plagg can pull all kinds of stunts; you'd be surprised." Chat deadpanned.

"That thing is real." Ladybug repeated, eyeing it closely.

"If it were a real akuma, don't you think it would have landed by now? And plus, it's circling above us: we can't see it that well. For all we know, it could be a small bird-"

"-That's the exact color and shape of an akuma? I don't think so." Ladybug took out her yoyo.

Chat stared at the akuma, or whatever it was. It still hadn't landed, going around them in circles.

"Wow, even the akuma is stupid. I'm out of here-" Chat yelped, bumping into something. He winced, rubbing his head. Reaching out, he felt a wall.

"We're trapped?!" Chat realized, trying to push the invisible barrier, but it wouldn't budge. The akuma was a blur now, traveling so fast, that Chat couldn't even see it's body, he blinked in surprise, "Okay, this is nuts. Plagg, you can drop the act now."

"It's not an act." Ladybug told him.

Chat watched the akuma carefully, "It...it should have akumatized one of us by now...it's almost like it can't decide."

"That must be why it's circling around us. It can't choose." Ladybug's eyes widened in horror.

"CHAT, LOOK OUT!"

The akuma dived for Chat, but he ducked just in time, holding his baton in front of him threateningly. The akuma flapped its wings above him.

"Go away, akuma. I'm NOT scared of you." Chat held onto Ladybug's hand, who looked confused. Chat realized just how awkward this must have been.

"It's to keep back the akuma...'cause ya know...the whole 'stronger together' thing..."

"Oh...right." Ladybug blushed.

The akuma hesitated, then moved forward a tiny bit.

"I'd like to see you try." Chat narrowed his eyes. The akuma fluttered away, landing on a flower.

"..."

"That was anticlimactic." Chat complained, "I didn't even get to fight it. The akuma just chickened out." He prodded the akuma with his baton. To his surprise, the akuma flipped over on its back.

"..."

"DID IT JUST DIE?!" Chat poked it again, but the akuma didn't move. Ladybug stared at him in shock.

"Did you kill it?!"

"I barely touched it, I swear! It died on it's own!"

"Wow, Hawk Moth must have been trying really hard this time." Ladybug joked.

"Wait, I need to test something out." Chat used his baton to see if the barrier was still up. When his baton hit nothing, and he found out that his arm could move freely, he reported, "Whatever barrier thing there was here is gone."

"Strange." Ladybug muttered.

Chat sighed, "No, it's not strange. Plagg obviously planned this. Hawk Moth wouldn't be this dumb. It was obviously just a set up. I never would have agreed to come here, but Plagg has a way with words."

Ladybug laughed, "Yeah, so does Tikki." Ladybug held his gaze before Chat finally turned away.

"This...was weird." Ladybug blinked, wondering if he meant the instance when they held hands, or the whole situation in general. She didn't dare ask.

"What do you think was Hawk Moth's motive, if it really wasn't our kwamis?" Adrien asked.

"Maybe some questions are better left unanswered..."

"Yeah...maybe.." Chat whispered.

"Well...I need to go home now...so...bye."

"Bye."
