Author's note: on the show they killed off Dustin and Lulu is in a coma which is too bad because they could've told a good triangle story between Dante, Lulu and Dustin, but don't worry in my story Lulu and Dustin are alive and well. Who is Dustin is he Brody Lovett? Read the chapter to find out.
Dante and Lulu arrive back at the house, they go inside and immediately call for Rocco and Charlotte. Dustin comes out of the kitchen and greet them
"Where are the kids?" Lulu asked
"Don't you remember? Rocco is spending the night at the Quartermaine's with Olivia and Leo. And Charlotte is out with Nina having a girls' night." Dustin responded
"Yeah that's right I've been so busy I forgot." Said Lulu nervous and relieved
"Is something wrong?" Dustin asked as he starts to feel the tension in the room
"Yes Dustin, there is we just found out something big." Lulu responded
"What about?" Dustin asked
"About you." Said Dante
"Me?" Dustin asked surprised
"Yes Dustin, Dante ran your fingerprints." Said Lulu
My fingerprints? I thought you weren't a cop anymore?" Dustin asked
"I called in a favor because I like to know who's living with my son." Said Dante
"Dustin, your fingerprints match an ex-Navy Seal named Brody Lovett." Said Lulu
Dante hands him the file with the photograph of Brody Lovett. Dustin looks at the photo and sits down on the couch
"This is the part where you deny it." Said Dante
"I can explain!" said Dustin
"Please start from the beginning." Said Dante
"Yes, my name isn't Dustin Phillips it's Brody Lovett." He confessed
"Oh my God it's true!" said Lulu shocked
"After my life In Llanview went bad I decided to reenlist in the Navy. Because of my record with mental health I knew that couldn't go in as Brody Lovett because the Navy would disqualify me." Brody explained
"So, you reenlisted as Dustin Phillips?" Lulu asked
"Yes, I ended up serving a couple more tours in Afghanistan and after I got out, I decided to start my life over again as Dustin Phillips. I thought I could put all the trauma, shame and guilt that was Brody Lovett's life in the past and rebuild." Brody explained
"I know the feeling." Said Dante sympathizing
"Anyway, I ended up in New York where I joined a band." Said Brody
"That's where you met Brook Lynn?" Lulu asked
"After things between us ended I got a job here in Port Charles as a music teacher. I love working with the kids every day, But I got lonely at night so I decided to start dating again." Said Brody
"That's when you found my ad in the paper that I put as part of a story I was working on." Said Lulu
"I remember meeting you and I knew you were special." Said Brody
"We've been Together for over a year. Why didn't you tell me?" Lulu asked
"I wanted to so many times, I was afraid of losing my job, but more importantly you." Said Brody
"Hey, look I don't want to judge you because I been exactly where you are in fact, I'm living it now trying to rebuild my life, but I can't get past the fact that you kidnapped two children one of them belonging to an old partner of mine John McBain." Said Dante
"I slept with John McBain's fiancée, when she found out she was pregnant we thought I was the father and it turned out I wasn't." Brody Explained
"So, you got attached to the child and couldn't let go. We know how it feels to get attached to a child that's not yours." Said Lulu referring to the time when Maxie lost their baby and tried to pass her child off as theirs.
"I am so sorry Lulu, I guess I better start packing." Said Brody
"Wait, not just yet! Dante, I need to talk to Brody alone." Lulu suggested
Dante didn't want to leave her alone, but he knew better than to try to talk her out of it.
"Okay, but I'm going to text you and if I don't hear from you, I'm coming right back." Said Dante as he walks out leaving them alone.
"You know I should've figured this out. The night of the shootout you jumped in and fought armed gunmen to save Michael, Josslyn and Sasha. The time Charlotte jumped off pier, you went into the frigid cold water to save her without hesitation. Now I know it's because you're a Navy seal.
"I would never hurt you or the kids. You are the best thing that happened to me in a long time and I love you." Said Brody
"Look I know that you didn't set out to maliciously hurt me or deceive me. The name Dustin Phillips may have been fake, but the wonderful man I fell in love with is genuine." Said Lulu
"So, what happens next?" Brody asked
"We start again." Lulu suggested
"Okay, I'll start. My name is Brody Lovett" he introduced
"Lesley Lulu Falconeri." Lulu responded as they both shake hands.
