Chapter 13-Twist and Shout

Today was the happiest day of Lily Evans life after succumbing to the fact that she fancied James Potter two months ago she was finally going to go on a date with him and she was determined that it was going to be perfect.

James Potter was happier than a kid in a candy store and a kid on Christmas Day and his birthday combined it was really happening after 6 years of having a crush on Lily Evans and constantly asking her out for 5 years he was finally going on a date with her and he was going to make sure that it was the perfect date.

It was 6:55 on the night of the ball and the ball was due to start at 7:00 James was waiting in the common room when Lily came out and when James saw Lily his mouth dropped open and he felt like he was seeing an angel.

"Close your mouth James or you'll catch flies." Lily smirked at James.

James blushed then said, "you look beautiful Lily shall we go?"

It was Lily's turn to blush, and she said, "yes let's go"

They arrived at the ball at 7:00 on the dot and they were both grinning like madmen as they danced. The night started with slow dancing and James and Lily danced to every song that was played during the slow dance session just being close to each other and dancing while they were in the comfort of each other. Eventually the slow dance portion of the night ended to what Lily and James thought was an eternity as they had lost track of time just being in the comfort of each other. They went down to take a small break. That break however, didn't last that long as students now were now able to request songs. Lily got up with James to request a song and she choose Twist and Shout.

"Come on James let's do the twist." Lily said pulling James to the dance floor.

"I don't know how to do the twist." James replied embarrassed

"It's ok I'll show you." Lily said as she pulled James on the dance floor as the music started playing.

Even though James was horrible at the twist Lily still had a good time trying to teach James the twist and singing the lyrics with James at the top of their lungs while trying to do the twist. After dancing for the rest of the night it came to the end of the night and both Lily and James had a really good time. James walked Lily to the girl's staircase.

"I had a really nice time tonight Lily." James told Lily.

"Me too James." Lily responded. As she turned to walk up the stairs.

"Wait Lily can I ask you a question?" James asked. Lily nodded "Will you be my girlfriend?" James asked nervously.

"Yes, James I would really like that." Lily said with a smile

James then bent down and kissed Lily and when they parted, they both smiled like idiots and couldn't wipe off the smile for the rest of the day.
