"There's something magical about this time of the year," says Fleur as she spread out the blanket. "Even though we're both immortal...this tradition never loses its novelty."

"Aw, my little romantic," he says playfully, and Fleur elbows him, but she's laughing. "Will you be painting the sky tonight?"

"...No," she says decidedly. "I just want to be here with you tonight, in this moment. Tonight is a special night."

"Oh? What makes it so special?"

Fleur smiles, pretending like she's thinking about it. "I suppose you'll just have to wait and see," she murmurs, sitting next to him and resting her head on his shoulder. He feels solid and strong beneath her. He isn't a god of strength for nothing.

"Oh look!" he says — or exclaims, rather, pointing at the midnight sky. "It's a falling star!" He frowns. "Won't it hit one of the human villages?"

"No. Percy told me it's going to land just east of one of the human villages. It will create a crater, but it won't kill any of those delicate humans as long as they don't get too close to it."

"Good, because I'd hate to ruin our night because I have to lift up a boulder and hurl it back into the sky," says Sirius, shifting slightly so his hand covers hers. "I'd hate to leave you right now, with you looking so beautiful tonight."

Goddesses don't blush, but Fleur feels warmth flood through her body. "You're a charmer," she tells him.

"Always was one, darling." He studies the falling star, hurtling to the ground. "Hey, have you heard of that human tradition of making a wish on a falling star?"

"I have," she says. "It's a tradition I rarely partake in since it never comes true. But I suppose there is a magical element for them."

"Well I'd wish to —" He breaks off. "We're supposed to keep these to ourselves, right?"

"Yes."

Sirius remains silent but Fleur, despite her earlier words, is already making a wish.

Let nothing take away these moments. Let our happiness last as long as our lives...forever.
