I want to thank the people who have reviewed this story, it really warms my heart:) Also side note: Elena is 18 in this story and Kol is 23, just because when the show started elena was 17 and the real age gap between the actors is six years, and we don't know Kol's actual age.This chapter is going to be the other events of the last episode (4x10) and then it'll bleed into the next chapter. Klaus Pov

The mystic falls gang had betrayed me once again, or more accurately, Tyler had and they went along with it. Then there was Caroline. She is an enigma. She had risked her life, being old enough to stand against me, but had gotten away with the simple promise of a favor. I shook my head as I jumped out of the car and walked around the Gilbert lake house towards the voices.

After a little threatening, I began a walk in the forest, contemplating my course of action. A thought occurred to me, a very evil thought. I smiled to myself before flashing over to the nearby town.

After I had gotten back I found Damon sitting on a log by a fire. I had told him of my plan, and although he seemed reluctant, he did later show up to the sample town bar at the edge of the woods, with both boys in tow. I was sitting at the bar when they walked in, a smile on my face, I knew that Damon was more like me than I thought. I was starting to like the elder Salvatore.

Damon Pov

I can't believe I listened to Klaus, dumb and dumber were being chased through the woods as I fought off the new vamps. I drove a nearby tree branch into a man's chest, then swiftly sent a text to Elena explaining the situation. Then tucked my phone back in my pocket as another vamp threw them self at me.

Elena Pov

Oh my God, I'm going to kill Damon.

I ran to grab my keys and flashed to my car to start it. He had put Jeremy in danger again. And on top of that, Matt was there too, and human. How the hell did Damon expect Matt to defend himself? I was speeding, breaking every speed limit to get there in time. It was a miracle that I wasn't pulled over. I swerved parking my car at the house and jumped out of the car. I tuned my ears to hear two people running nearby with dozens of heavy footfalls behind them. I ran up ahead to see Matt running towards the house. I sighed in relief then saw as a vampire drag him by his legs about to bite him. I flashed over to snap the man's neck and throw his body off Matt, a few seconds later Jeremy came up behind us and we ran back to the house, only for me to turn around at the door to see about a dozen looming figures approach the edge of the woods. I didn't hesitate before running inside and slamming the door shut.

We had all been cooped upstairs for the duration of the night. I had just finished re bandaging Matt's neck when Damon burst through the door. I could tell he was about to say something to me when I stormed up to him.

When I saw his lips start to move I went off on him. "No you don't get to talk. You can't just go around turning vampires; killing innocent people. And putting Jeremy and Matt in danger. Seriously Damon, what the hell is wrong with you?" I channeled my inner Caroline Forbes/ Mama bear.

He looked dumbfounded for a split second before going to talk again " Elena we have to get the cure for you-"

" How many times do I have to tell you, I don't want anyone to die for me. The cure be damned!" I screamed at him before grabbing my coat and heading for the stairs.

I turned back and pointed at him " And I swear to God if you don't fix this, there will be hell to pay." I ran down the stairs and made my way to my car and zoomed off back to the mansion.

Damon Pov

After me and Jeremy went back to the bar to find the vampires dead and burnt to a crisp in the back, it was safe to say they didn't make it in time. When we got back to the house we got our things and I got Matt and then began the drive back to Mystic Falls.

It was nighttime now and both Jeremy and Matt were passed out in the backseat. I stopped at a gas station and got out of the car to sent a text to everyone telling them to meet us at the boarding house, when we got back. I filled up my tank then jumped back in the car and made made my way back within the city limits.

I dropped Matt back at his house then went to the boarding house. Jeremy questioned why we weren't going to the Gilbert residence, but I explained to him that we all needed to talk. When we walked inside I saw that all of them were already here.

Stefan, Bonnie, Ric, and Tyler were sitting in the parlor. When I didn't say anything, Bonnie broke the silence "Well...?" she asked.

I smirked " I've got a way to solve part of our original problem and the cure in one fell swoop."

That seemed to get their attention " Go on" Tyler said, leaning forward on the couch.

I hopped down onto the couch and Jeremy moved to the one on the opposite side. "Well I think we all know at this point that Kol has a thing for Elena."

" Yeah, I mean that's kind of obvious now, with her staying with him." I nodded.

"I think she's being compelled, and if we can get her to meet him then, you little Gilbert can take him out, with us waiting outside as backup." I continued " And if I'm right, and she's being compelled then if we kill him, it'll break, well get the map to the cure, and one more dead original." I finished with a smirk.

Kol Pov

I hadn't seen Elena since I woke up, and assumed she was gone with her friends. Later Bekah showed up, and I was still angry with her because of what she pulled at the school yesterday. I brushed past her and she pulled one of Nik's daggers against my back. She went on about the cure and that's when I pulled out a dagger of my own, about to stab her when Nik flashed me against the wall. I knew he would always choose her so I flashed as far away from there as I could.

Jeremy Pov

I had called Elena telling her how I didn't want anyone else to die as well, and told her that I would still love her if she stayed a vampire forever. Then I convinced her to ask Kol to meet her at the house for a truce the next day and surprisingly she bought it. I looked behind me to the crowd still in the parlor and gave a small smile "It's on."

Kol Pov

I knew nobody was left at the mansion, so that's when I snuck my way back in. I had no clue where Elena was, and I was beginning to get worried when I heard the door open to the mansion. I flashed over to see Elena shrug off her coat and flash up the stairs. She seemed to not even notice me, and I ran up after her and gently grabbed the crook of her elbow to turn her around. She looked taken aback and fuming at the same time. She looked back at me and stopped her movements.

With a cheeky smile, I tilted my head " What's wrong darling, rough night?" I teased. She scoffed and hurried up the last few steps, I immediately knew that was the wrong move to make.

I reached out to her again " Really what's wrong?" I said in a more soothing voice. She turned back to me "Damon, he... ugh he just infuriates me, I can't ever get a break from him" she ranted. She then explained the night's previous events. She then brought up how she would rather never be human again than watch everyone around her die for it. She knew it was a touchy subject between us.

What she said next surprised me.

"Actually I was wondering if we could talk about a truce tommorow at my house?" She said with hope in her eye. I agreed, finally seeing the good in the situation, and we parted ways.

This is it, these next few chapters. are going to be very exciting for me to write. I hope y'all liked the chapter, even though there wasn't much Kolena. It was mostly a set up for the next chapter or chapters, which are going to be very eventful. Thank you for reading. And please review:)
