Chapter 23

"We going to go get something to eat?" I ask looking over to Laxus who is typing away on his phone.

"Sure," was his lone reply and I frown as I switch on my indicator, to show that I was about to turn. "But drive by the station and pick up Lucy." I frown again as I look to him but shake my head and just roll my eyes. We weren't too far from the station so picking her up was no problem.

"She said she wanted something?" I ask and at this he looks up, he's eyes meeting mine.

"Yeah." He replies and then he looks back to his phone again. "So Jellal said something interesting the other day." Laxus starts of and I pull a cigarette from my packing placing it to my lips.

"Which is?" I ask, not really interested in what Jellal could possibly have said because everything that comes out of his mouth is shit.

"Is there something between you and Lucy?" Laxus asks as he looks up and then his eyes briefly meet mine before looking back to his phone again. I raise a brow not too sure how I need to approach this subject.

"Meaning?" I ask as I light my smoke and take a drag from it.

"Jellal just said that it seems that there is something between the two of you." Laxus says and at this I raise a brow and I roll my eyes.

"Jellal is bored with his own life." I say and at this Laxus nods his head.

"Laxus, you and I both know you would never do anything to hurt Lisanna." Laxus chips in and I look to him, a bit sceptical. If he only knew how close I actually was to doing something. He would never see it coming if something did happen between me and Lucy. In the process, yes it would hurt Lisanna and surely a whole lot of other people, including Lucy's boyfriend as well if they ever where to find out.

In my mind there was no longer any doubt that if I was given the opportunity to fuck said blonde I would do it without thinking twice. It has gotten to the point where I would second guess my choice if I actually declined the blonde. I was willing and ready but no one needed to know that. And it has now come down to that, the only thing that would stand in my way is if someone found out.

I turn the corner and soon we drive into the station. I see Laxus typing on his phone and soon he looks to me with a smile on his face. "She's on her way." Laxus indicates as he re-adjusts his sunglasses. And right then and there I finally see what the fuck is going on.

He only asked because he was interested in her as well. But we were still in the same positions as when she started here almost seven months ago. Yes he was single, and he was trying his best to get in her good books, yet she was in a relationship and I wasn't sure on where she stood with his advances and I was still married lusting after her. Fuck. This was just a fucking shit show.

The door opens and I instantly look to the side and as Lucy takes a seat behind me, she has a bright smile on her face as she greets us. "Hey boys."

I take another drag of my smoke before I start driving again. "Hey Lucy, what would you like to have for lunch?" Laxus asks and I am almost overcome with jealousy as I just listen to Laxus talking to Lucy.

"Oh anything you guys wanted to get, thanks for picking me up and letting me tag along." She states as she adjusts to the back of the car. For a moment I have no idea where I am going or what I am doing until she calls my name. "What are you in the mood for?" she asks and even if I wanted to answer I was in the mood for her, I bite my tongue.

"Anything." I manage to say as we drive out of the station.

"KFC?" Laxus asks and I just hear a 'hmm' from Lucy. I put on my indicator and turn into the direction of the nearest KFC. "I was craving some chicken nuggets anyway." Laxus states with a chuckle and at this I look onto the mirror, my eyes meeting Lucy's as she smiles nodding her head.

It didn't take long before we got to the KFC, and I just hand Laxus money and mumble what I want to have. Lucy tries to do the same but Laxus shakes his head declining to take her money and just promises to bring her back food which he would pay.

When he is finally in the fast food joint I look to Lucy again in the mirror. Her eyes are trained on me. "You know he likes you." I say under my breath and at this she just huffs a breath.

"He likes the thought of me." She replies and at this I raise my brow.

"No, he likes, likes you." I say and at this she looks down.

"And?" she asks like she doesn't even care. "You're married but you wanna fuck me?" She asks and I gulp.

"I haven't yet." I reply and at this she gives this sexy seductive smile.

"But you're going to." At this I shake my head.

"This situation is fucked up to be honest." I reply as I run my hand through my hair and look out the window, watching Laxus movements.

"Then lets not be honest and don't think about it. We already cancelled out one problem." She replies and at this I turn in my seat and I look to her in surprise, not too sure what she was referring to.

"Meaning?" I ask looking back to where I saw Laxus last.

"Just what I said." She replies and that when Laxus walks out of the shop with the package of food, a smile on his face. What the hell was that all about? I have no idea.
