From bad to worse..

The night that was supposed to be perfect was getting worse by the minute.

After Hannah's rejection and wallowing in misery with Bones beside him.

He got the phone from Hacker asking him and Temperance to be at Hoover as soon as possible.

He found the man's tone strange, but didn't question it and then he and Temperance went to the FBI.

When they got there they saw most of the agents running like dizzy cockroaches, phones ringing and the main one nobody looked at them.

He took Temperance's hand and squeezed it gently, something in his gut said something was wrong.

Then the two went to Hacker's office.

—You guys got here fast.(Andrew said)

—You said it was urgent. (Booth said to the Man as he sat next to Temperance)

—What happened? (Temperance asked worriedly)

—Well .. (Andrew said and took a deep breath) That night there was a kidnapping, child abduction and ..

—Do you want us to work on the case? (Booth asked)

—No, Agent Perotta was assigned to the case but .. (Hacker said again)

—If you don't want us to work on the case, why are we here? (Booth said after interrupting the man.

—The kidnapped child was His daughter, Joy. (Andrew said and looked at them both with pity) I'm sorry, we're doing everything possible to ..

—What do you mean?(Booth said and stood up) She ... she's with the nanny, isn't she Bones? (He said staring at her)

—I left her with the nanny tonight and everything was fine when I left and .. (Temperance said frantically)

—I know that calm is the last thing you will stay, but please ... we need you to say everything you remember about your routines and everything possible and ..

—We are on the case.(Booth said) She is our daughter, we will find her.

—Booth, you know this is against FBI policy.

—She's my daughter, Perotta can handle the fucking investigation, but Bones and I are on the case. (He said helped Temperance get up) Where's Perotta at?

—She's at the crime scene. (Hacker said and after nodding they were both leaving) And Booth?

—Yes?

—We will do everything possible to bring your little girl safe and sound.

—Thanks Andrew. (Temperance murmured)

The two hurried out of Hacker's office, both were frantic.

While Temperance called Cam and asked her to call everyone who was available, Booth called Perotta to let them know they were on their way.

They went to the car.

Devastated.

Booth drove without looking at Temperance, he knew that if he looked at her he would collapse.

—I..I..I don't want to cry yet. (Temperance murmured) I need to be logical, but ... I can't, I can't compartmentalize.

_She is our daughter Bones, not just another case.(He said and took her hand)

—When Taffet took you, I went crazy.(She said and shook his hand) But I knew you would be fine, but she ... she is so small.

—She's the smartest kid I know, she'll be fine, Bones, let's find her soon.

—Yes, let's find her ... at least that's what I hope for.

Booth took a deep breath.

He also hoped that that nightmare would be over soon.

When the crime scene arrived, there were many policemen and agents on all sides.

Perotta was talking to some FBI technicians when he noticed their presence.

—Agent Booth, Dr. Brennan. (She said as soon as both of her approached) This was not how I expected to see you again.

—Us, too, Agent Perotta.(Booth said and shook her hand) What do you have?

—Two men .. (She started and both went to the crime scene) broke into the apartment, knocked over the nanny and took the victim. (They stopped in the living room)

—Don't call her a victim, she has a name,Her name is Joy. (Temperance said)

—Yes, Joy..it's protocol, you know. (Perotta said softly) According to the experts, she was dragged under the bed and then they brought her into the room.

—Live? (Temperance asked fearfully)

—Yes, apparently she struggled a lot to get here. (Perotta said) The house will remain a crime scene, so Dr. Brennan you better get some clothes and personal effects.

—Why don't you go get some things, Bones?

She nodded and headed for the room with an agent.

—You know we're going to get out of the case and we're not going to give up, right?

—If it was my son, I would also like to be on the case. (Perotta said) But remember it is my case, I am leading.

—She is my daughter, if I need to do something, I will.(Booth said and headed for the bedroom)

—Do a shit and you'll be a thousand miles from the FBI.

He nodded and headed for Bones's room.

Temperance followed the forensic technician to her room, she abruptly stopped and looked at Joy's room.

The night light with moons and stars was still on.

The bed was messy and the little stuffed monkey was on the floor.

She was collapsing.

And looking at the place where your daughter was taken, would not help.

It was her fault, if she had stayed, if she were there ..

—There was nothing that could be done.

Temperance turned and saw Booth standing behind her.

She turned and hugged him.

He was the only one at the moment who understood her feelings.

They were one.

—Come on Bones, we need to get your things.(He said softly as he patted her on the back) We need to get to work.

She nodded and followed him.

The two entered the room and closed the door.

Automatically Temperance took the small suitcase and put the clothes on, saying nothing.

As soon as she finished she looked at the booth that was sitting on her bed.

—I think I'm staying at Angela's.

—You can stay with me. (Booth said) You must stay with me.

—But what happened to ..

—Not now.(He said and went over to her) My focus is on you and our little girl. (Booth hugged her) We will be together and we will find our daughter, I promise.

She took a shaky breath and clung to him.

—I ... I want her teddy, the little monkey.(Temperance said as soon as he broke free) I need ... I need something from her.

—Okay.(Booth said and kissed her on the forehead) As soon as they analyze it, it will be sent to you.

—Thanks Booth.

—We are in this together.

Freezing.

Joy woke up with a huge headache.

And she was cold, very cold.

His hands were frozen and it was dark.

She didn't see anything outside.

And there was no one with her

Whatever she was.

She closed her eyes and cringed, trying to stay warm.

She just wanted to go home.

She needed to fight to get home.

She just hoped her parents would be quick.
