As manager of the band, Levy had a lot of work to do for the band. She walked into their studio, but when she made it to their rehearsal space, she saw the others were all there and they seemed like they were expecting something.
"Well?" All five of them asked.
"It's done! Everything has been set to the last detail! Fairy Tale is going on a full tour!" Levy said as all of them were glad to hear that.
"I can't believe we're actually going around the whole country!" Lucy said.
"I can't believe we'll be performing around the whole country." Gray said. "This is going to be so cool."
"We're set to take off within a couple days." Levy said as she handed all of them a schedule. "I printed out a schedule to ensure our tour starts out for all of us."
"This is going to be so cool." Natsu said.
"We're still going to have some schoolwork to do, but on the bright side, summer vacation will start while we're on tour." Lucy said.
"Indeed. Although, it will probably be hard away from our families for a long time, don't you think?" Erza said. Leaving home might be hard, but their families have supported the band lately. As long as they do the last of their schoolwork for the year, they're families are all for them going on this tour. "Wait. We're leaving at noon?!"
"Is there a problem?" Levy asked.
"My mother has a business meeting at noon. She's not going to be able to see us off." Erza said. That's hard seeing as how her mother is really the only family Erza has.
"What about Jellal? You and he have been in touch lately." Gray said.
"Yeah. Isn't he going to come to see you off?" Natsu asked.
"We talked about that and he won't be able to make it." Erza said. Too bad for Erza. She won't be able to say goodbye and they'll be gone for a while.
...
Natsu's Apartment
"I feel really bad for her." Natsu said as he grabbed some snacks and talked to his brother. "Erza might be scary sometimes, but she's a good friend. She won't be able to say goodbye to her mother when we leave."
"That's tough. Is she sure her mother won't be able to get out of this?" Zeref asked.
"You know how Miss Belserion can be." Natsu said. "She's a busy woman. She's got a lot going on. Makes me a little more grateful you'll be coming." Natsu noticed how Zeref looked and he looked unsettled. "Something wrong?"
"Natsu, I won't be able to go with you while you and your friends are on tour." Zeref said and Natsu was surprised to hear that.
"What?! Why?!" Natsu asked. "You work for the band! It's so you can make some money while you're attending online college classes!"
"That's just it. I've actually made a couple appointments to check a couple actual colleges." Zeref said. "I'm actually thinking of attending one next year."
"Seriously?!" Natsu said.
"Yeah. I've been meaning to tell you." Zeref said. "I won't be able to check any of them while I'm on the tour with you."
"Well, I get it's a big deal. If you need to go, fine with me." Natsu said. Zeref was glad to hear Natsu being supportive. It was then that Natsu's phone went off and saw it was Lucy. "Hey, Lucy. What's up?" Lucy was telling him something and it didn't sound good. "What?! Are you kidding me?!"
"What's wrong?" Zeref asked.
"Lucy's father is saying she can't go!" Natsu said.
...
Lucy's Home
Natsu went over to Lucy's house. Lucy is saying her father won't allow her to go on the tour. He can't just change his mind at the last minute. They're suppose to leave soon. Natsu knocked on the door and Lucy opened it up.
"Thanks for coming." Lucy said.
"What's going on? Why is your father saying you can't go?" Natsu asked.
"My mom is trying to figure that out. Come in and take a listen." Lucy said. Natsu stepped inside and could hear some arguing going on upstairs.
"Sounds bad." Natsu said. "So what exactly did he tell you?"
"He says that he doesn't want me to go because he thinks I'm too young to be going around the country." Lucy said. "I always had a feeling he didn't like me being in a band. Dad's always been prestigious man. He enjoyed that I could play piano, but I always suspected he wanted me to play classical."
"We're suppose to leave soon." Natsu said. "We can't go without you. My brother already told me he can't go, but you've got to come with us." Natsu was not going to let Lucy miss this. He knows she wants to go as much as the others do. "You know what, I'm going to talk to him." He headed straight for the stairs.
"Natsu, I don't think that's a good idea." Lucy said, but Natsu kept going up as he followed the voices.
"She's not going and that's final!" Natsu heard her father. "It's bad enough that my daughter is wasting her time and talents on that band!"
"Don't make that band sound like a bad thing. Lucy is happy and her grades haven't suffered."
"That might be, but I think she could do a lot better without that band! She looks like she's hanging with delinquents!"
"Keep your voice down! Those are Lucy's friends. They're good people."
"Good people don't take my daughter away from me! In fact, with the way I'm feeling, if one of them was here right now..." From there, Natsu heard some stuff that made him slightly discouraged. After hearing that, Natsu turned around and went down the stairs.
"You were right. Not a good idea for me to talk to him now." Natsu said.
"So what are we going to do?" Lucy said. "I really want to go on the tour with you guys, but how can I do it when he seems to be against it?" Natsu thought about that. He wants her to go too and he doesn't want her to miss a thing.
"I might have an idea or two." Natsu said.
...
A Couple Days Later
The day they had to leave for the tour. The others are already gathering at the spot where the bus would take them. Their families are already there. They're just waiting on some of the others since there's still some time before they leave.
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Dragneel." Levy said as she arrived with her father. "Natsu isn't here?"
"No. He says he was going to meet with Lucy. Apparently, there's some sort of problem he has to take care of with her." Mr. Dragneel said.
"I hope everything is okay." Mrs. Dragneel said.
"I'm sure everything is fine." Zeref said. "Levy, I'm sorry I won't be able to go with you and help out with the band."
"I understand, Zeref." Levy said.
"Yeah. Just leave everything to my little girl." Mr. McGarden said as he tried to praise her. "She'll take care of everything. After all, she's managed everything up until this point."
"Dad..." Levy said as she was feeling a little embarrassed. While they were talking, Gray was talking with both of his parents.
"So you going to call us everyday? Brush your teeth? Go to bed on time?" Mrs. Fullbuster said.
"Yes, Mom. Stop talking to me like I'm a kid going to camp. I'm going to be fine." Gray said.
"I know. I'm just going to miss you so much." Mrs. Fullbuster said and she was just rambling a bunch of stuff like how Gray is her precious baby and such.
"Mom! You're embarrassing me!" Gray said.
"Hon, leave the boy alone." Mr. Fullbuster said. Gray was glad his dad was there to help him out. "If you really want to embarrass him, try telling some stories of when he was a kid. Remember how he slept with a nightlight until he was ten?" That set his mother off and Gray felt like dying.
"Mom!" Gray said.
"Hahahaha." Gajeel laughed.
"Don't act so modest." Mr. Redfox said. "You've had some ups and downs. You weren't always the punk-looking guy you are now and you can't even do that right."
"What are you trying to say?!" Gajeel said. "Are you saying I'm a screw-up?! Well, I probably got all that from you!" Mr. Redfox just laughed it off.
"I'm actually going to miss fighting with you while you're out there." Mr. Redfox said. While they were all talking with their families, Erza arrived...alone.
"Erza, any news on your mother?" Levy asked.
"No. It looks like she isn't going to make it." Erza said and the others felt real bad for her. "I'm just going to wait on the bus." Erza already climbed on and it wasn't looking good.
"Well, we're just waiting for Natsu and Lucy. Where are they? We need to leave soon" Levy asked.
...
Natsu
Natsu waited just outside Lucy's house and was making sure he wasn't spotted. Natsu pulled out his phone and gave her a call.
"I'm right outside, Lucy. Ready?" Natsu asked.
"I am, but is this really a good idea? Sneaking out and hitting the bus?" Lucy asked.
"I'm sorry, but it's the only way. We need to get there now. There's no time to question this so let's go." Natsu said. Lucy knew Natsu had a point. There was no time for debate. So he ended the call and waited for her to show up.
"Hello, Natsu." Natsu panicked when he heard his name and saw he was already found by Mrs. Heartfilia.
"Mrs. Heartfilia! So nice to see you as usual." Natsu said as he was trying to act innocent. As for Lucy, she grabbed her bags and got out of there, but she was stopped by her father the moment she stepped out of her room.
"Lucy..." Mr. Heartfilia said as he did not seem happy.
"Dad?!" Lucy said as she couldn't believe she already got caught.
"Back inside. We need to talk." Mr. Heartfilia said. Lucy already felt like she was in so much trouble. As for Natsu, Mrs. Heartfilia told him about how she already knew their plan.
"So Lucy already told you and you told your husband?" Natsu asked.
"That's right. She at least wanted to say goodbye, but since she couldn't do it without her father noticing anything, she came to me." Layla said. "I don't approve of my daughter sneaking out, but you're a good friend wanting to help her out."
"Thanks, but we need to go now. We're suppose to leave at noon and that's in less than an hour." Natsu said.
"I know, but those two need to sort this out because, even if Lucy does leave, that would only create more problems." Mrs. Heartfilia said. She looked up to her daughter's window and hoped for the best. "I know those two are talking about it now. Hopefully, they'll work things out."
"They better do it fast." Natsu said.
"Dad, please let me go." Lucy said as she talked with him. "This is big for the band. We actually get to go around and see the country. Why would you want to keep that from me?"
"Lucy, I thought this band of yours was just going to be for fun, but now it sounds like you're making a career out of it." Mr. Heartfilia said. "That kind of business could go downhill very quickly and where do you find yourself?"
"It may have started that way, but we've made a lot of success because of it." Lucy said. "This is a great opportunity for me."
"You're not going!" Mr. Heartfilia said. Lucy couldn't take this anymore.
"Yes I am!" Lucy said as she raised her voice right at him. She's never done that before and it caught him by surprise. "They're my friends. I'll be fine. I know that going with them will be a lot of fun. I get you're just concerned about me. I'm not really trying to make a career out of music, but I don't want to just give up on this. This band means a lot to me. I don't know what the future holds for me, but I don't want to miss it. This band means so much because it's with my friends and we've been through a lot together. I'm going because it just makes me happy. Isn't that enough?" Mr. Heartfilia never heard his daughter speak to her with such passion. It really does mean so much to her and he doesn't want to take that from her.
"In that case, we better get going. You're suppose to leave soon, aren't you?" Mr. Heartfilia said. Lucy was so happy her father agreed to let her go now.
...
The Bus
The Heartfilias pulled up with Natsu and Lucy. All of them were glad to see they made it in time. With that, Natsu was able to say goodbye to his family. Lucy did as well with the others saying their goodbyes as well. With that, all of them boarded the bus and were ready to go, but Erza still seemed upset that she was able to see her mother before she left.
"Wait!" Someone appeared at the door just after it closed. "I need to see my daughter: Erza."
"Erza, someone is here to see you." The driver said.
"Mom!" Erza said as she hurried out. She got off the bus and hugged her mother with her mother hugging back.
"I'm so glad I caught you before you left." Miss Belserion said. "You going to be okay out there?"
"I will. I love you, Mom." Erza said.
"I love you, Erza." Miss Belserion said. She let her daughter go and Erza got back on feeling happy.
"I think this is going to be a great trip." Erza said. Now that all of them got to say their goodbyes, the bus took off with all of them on it. All their families watched them leave and were so proud and happy for their kids. Now they got the whole country ahead of them.
