Chapter Eleven: Final Battle Part 3

"No!" Peter cried. It was happening again. James and Toruun came running towards him.

"What happened?" Toruun demanded.

"Did he- do it?" James trailed off. Peter nodded in horror. Peter braced himself to turn into dust again, but nothing happened. Peter turned to see Thane using the gauntlet to bring a purple swirl from the ground. The swirl took the form of a large body, bigger than Thane.

"Welcome back, Father." Thane grinned. It happened. Thane had resurrected Thanos. It was silent as they watched Thanos stumble and try to figure out his surroundings. Then he locked eyes with Thane, when his son handed gim the gauntlet.

"What have you done, boy." Thanos demanded. Thane's evil grin faded.

"I brought you back to the land of the living, so we can conquer the universe."

"Bah!" Thanos scoffed. "Collecting the stones was not to conquer the universe, but to save the universe."

"I don't understand." James whispered.

"I acquired my life's goal." Thanos continued. "My life's goal was to erase half of the universe because of the way there were too many people. I had to balance it. I never wanted to conquer the universe."

"What do you mean?" Thane cried.

"But you are just a child, filled with conceited desires and fantasies of ruling the world!" Thane backslapped Thane into the rubble.

"I have to admit, I'm enjoying this." Francis whispered sheepishly.

"How dare you!" Thane cried. "I resurrected you! You should be grateful!"

"After saving half of the universe, my life had no other purpose." Thanos responded.

"Then give me the stones!" Thane shouted. "If you don't want them-"

"You are a fool. You are not worthy to wield the stones." Thanos commanded. Thane lunged for Thanos but Thanos blasted him into the debris.

"Well, we already snapped, so your life's goal has been stopped. Our parents should be here any moment." Pym cried.

"WTF, Pym!" Peter cried. Thanos turned to face Pym, who ended up cowering.

"You have brought half of the universe back? Then I must snap the stones again." Thanos said as he started to lift the gauntlet. Aweb yanked the arm down and a shield bounced off his shoulder.

"Avengers!" Peter shouted. "Pile on."

Like a flood, umerous superpowered people rushed towards Thanos. Toruun swung her axe into a chokehold on Thanos' neck. Pym and Peter struggled to pull off the gauntlet. Elodie flew to Thanos' shoulders and tried to put him to sleep. Morgan and Rhodey shot a barrage of missiles to keep Thane's army away. Azari, Francis, Lila, Cassie, and J.Q helped keep Thane's limbs in place. Everyone else hoarded off Thane's army. Okoye struggled against Proxima Midnight until she stabbed the alien in the chest and slammed her to the ground.

Meanwhile Thane recovered from his injuries as he watched The Avengers fight Thanos.

"Thus is MY FIGHT!" Thane xcried as he flew at Thanos, only to be attacked by Captain Marvel. A booming sound was heard in the distance .

"Not again!" Janes groaned. Ravager came bounding towards Thanos.

"He might actually help this time." Peter suggested. James, help me and Pym hold the gauntlet. Then Ravager body slammed Thanos away, and James, Pym, and Petter held onto the gauntlet and yanked it off as Thanos was separated from the ground.

"We got it! We got it!" Pym cried, bouncing up and down. Thane held Captain Marvek down with telekinesis and shouted,

"No!"

"Your evil deeds end now!" Toruun shouted as she sent a beam of lighting at Thane from the sky. Morgan and J.Q bombarded the alien with missiles and blasts with the help of Elodie's fire. Then Cassie grew big and threw Thane into the air, and then Ravager finished him off with a punch of gamma radiation. Elodie collapsed from her fire powers that weakened her, but Morgan caught her.

Finally, Peter, Pym, and James stood around the gauntlet. James and Pym looked worryingly at Peter, who held the gauntlet in his arms.

"Peter… It doesn't have to end this way." James said.

"Wait, Peter, you're gonna do it?" Pym exclaimed.

"I...I have to before it's too late." Peter said as he looked at the Wakandans and the Scavengers retreating as the alien army overpowered them. Dr Strange reduced the avalanche into snow particles and joined Bucky and Sam fighting the aliens. Francis ran towards James.

"The alien army is too much!" Francis cried. "We have to go!"

"Hnnnn."

The three boys whirled around to see Peter hissing in pain as he wielded the gauntlet. Thanos charged towards them.

"No!" Thanos cried.

Peter finally overpowered the pain and then turned to face Thanos.

"I am Spider Man." Peter managed to say.

SNAP.

Thanos stumbled back in surprise. Morgan raced towards them. James and Pym stood in shock. Peter stumbled back against a broken wall. He had snapped.

Slowly around them, the alien army started to be reduced to dust. Peter sat on the ground. His right arm along with the right sode of his face was black amd gray from the burning power of the infinity gauntlet. Morgan raced past them to Peter.

"Morgan…." Peter mumbled. Morgan's eyes started to water as she began to sob.

"Please, don't go…" Morgan trailed off as she sobbed into his chest. Azari, Cassie, Toruun, James, and Pym stood in an arch around the two in silence. Francis, J.Q, Lila, David, who had turned back to his normal form, and Elodie joined them with Falcon, Dr Strange, Bucky, Rocket, Bruce, and Captain Marvel. The Scavengers followed suit. Michelle and Ned approached Peter and Morgan. Michelle put a hand on Morgan's shoulder as she knelt before her love.

"It's ok, Peter." Michelle said. "You can rest now." Peter nodded his head slightly as tears ran down Michelle's face. Cassie sobbed into Azari's arms while silent tears were shed from Toruun as Francis approached her and squeezed her hand. James and Azari had tears in their eyes. Respectfully, Francis let go of Toruun's hand and knelt on one knee. Toruun watched him and followed suit. Slowly, everyone else did the same. James stood there for a few seconds before kneeling also. Elodie, however, turned to walk away. She walked until she found Thane lying in the dust.

"Ah, Elodie." Thane said. "Please, I need your help." Elodie shook her head.

"Why should I help you?" Elodie asked.

"I'm sorry for all I've done to you. But with my help, I can make you stronger. You have NO, idea how powerful your powers are. I can help you control them."

"Why would I believe that?" Elodie smirked. "You can't trick me anymore. You've tortured me and you killed my parents."

"It was for your own good. They did not want you to be superhuman like me." Thane responded.

"But I'm not like you." Elodie corrected.

"You're not going to kill me, are you?" Thane asked after a pause.

"No. That is someone else's job. And he already did it. And he had to die to stop you." Elodie answered. Thane gave a weak chuckle and stared into the horizon in the sky.

"I will come back." Thane whispered into her mind. The inhuman crumbled into dust and blew away in the wind.

Dr Strange suddenly stood up and used his magic to open a large portal many yards away. Everyone squinted to see a group- an army enter the portal. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the rest of the original avengers entered. Behind them were the pre-dusted Wakandans, Ravagers, Asgardians, and others.

"They're back." Azari said in awe.
