Meilin peered into her box and received…

Pt.3

A box in a box?!

"What the…" Meilin muttered as the tension in the room dissipated almost immediately. Abeke let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

Meilin proceeded to open the second box, then the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, the seventh… until opened boxes littered the floor. Meilin was practically shooting daggers at a certain scruffy haired suspect named cough-Rollan-cough at this point. No one dared to break Meilin's enraged silence.

Then, quick as a flash, Rollan's hand shot forward and snatched the now tiny box from Meilin's hand. Her eyes widened and her expression soon turned into an offended and angry one. Fixing her brown eyes on Rollan's face attentively, she reached to take the box from Rollan, but, fast as lightning, he moved it out of Meilin's reach as he opened the lid of the final box and took a nervous, shaky breath. Abeke watched as Meilin's expression changed from bewilderment to one of wonder as Rollan carefully lifted a silver necklace with a pale pink pendant in the shape of a sakura dangling from it. Conor's eyes slightly flicked Abeke's way and they exchanged teasing smirks with each other as they both realized -at the same time- what was going on.

Rollan took a deep, shuddering breath, palms sweating against the metal clasped against his hand. His head constantly repeating the words he had rehearsed at least one thousand and twenty three times last night. Then he slid closer to Meilin and took her cool slender hand in his larger warm one. All the while her eyes were trained carefully on his, and he tried his best to send reassurance through his gaze.

"Um, Meilin," he started, his voice cracking a little. "You know, we've known each other for a long time, and I've always wanted to say to you," he paused, thinking, Damn! I'm never good with words like her! Vaguely he heard his other two friends retreat into the hallway while mumbling about giving them privacy. "I like you," he blurted, cheeks reddening. Awkwardly and stiffly, he held out the necklace. "Uh, and I was wondering, um, if you would… go on a date with me tomorrow?" he stammered.

Meilin blinked at him. Once, twice, then she broke into a beautiful smile. Rollan's heart lightened up at just the sight of it.

"I'd love to," she said as Rollan put the necklace around her neck. Then her mouth slowly morphed into a teasing grin and she ruffled his hair playfully, like an older sibling chiding the younger one. "Took you long enough," she said, giving him a hug.

They just smiled at each other stupidly for several seconds until excited squeals broke into their peaceful silence. Moments later, an overly hyper Maya can be seen dragging Conor and Abeke into the room.

"Seriously, I just saw the sweet scene happen right before my eyes!" she shook a blushing Meilin by the shoulders.

"He, he, um, well," Meilin stammered while getting redder and redder.

"Oh, I love you guys!" Maya cried and enveloped Meilin and Rollan in a tight hug, then disappearing into the hallway as quickly as she had came.

Meilin shook her head. "Sometimes I doubt she's older than us." Abeke giggled.

"Whew, I'm tired after all this drama tonight," Rollan said, giving Meilin a wink. She blushed in return.

Abeke glanced at her watch: 1 a.m.

"Wow! Time flies. Christmas is over," she exclaimed.

"Well, I guess I can't say 'Merry Christmas' anymore, can I?" Meilin chuckled ruefully.

"Merry 'late' Christmas," Rollan added playfully.

Abeke took the turn toward the West Wing, followed closely by Conor, while the other two turned right to the East Tower.

"Hey, thanks for the gift!" Conor said as he caught up to her.

"How did you know it was me?" Abeke joked.

Conor rolled his eyes. "Come on, as if I'd ever forget the Symbols of Nilo. You pestered me to read that book about it for a whole month until I agreed."

Abeke laughed softly and they hugged each other goodbye.

"Night," Conor said while stifling a yawn.

"Good night."

Abeke watched as he opened the door to his bedroom and vanished into it almost immediately after giving her a small smile. She couldn't help smiling back as her eyes landed on the bracelet she had given him on his wrist. Yawning, she closed the door to her room, and was swept into peaceful dreamland the moment her head touched the soft pillow.

So guys, this is the end of the Christmas Special!Sorry it took so long :D.

I have something I want to tell you all.

So, I recently got a Conor×Devin request, and I will be publishing it, with the help of Tarik Grace, an inspiring writer with epic ideas, so since I'm not that good with male×male oneshots, he will be writing that chapter! Be very excited!

But I won't be publishing any more male×male or female×female ships.

I hope y'all can understand, I'm not that good with those ships, so I won't be doing any more of those. A million sorrys to you guys. That's all, thank you all so much for your continued support!
