Chapter 9:

At Taj Mahal Palace :

It was 12 and Kapil called everyone as they had to go for practice in Stadium..After 5 minutes everyone came in the lounge..

Kapil sir : To guys chale stadium mein practice karne..Everyone nodded at him..

Kartik (whispered in Abhijeet's ear): Yaar Abhii yeh sir kitne khadoos hai na kitni training karvate hai Abhijeet chuckled at him whereas Kapil clearly heard that he came near him while Kartik was looking at him confusingly..but soon his confusion got cleared as Kapil twisted his ear..

Kapil sir : Aur mai khadoos hun na...Kartik instantly nodded in no while Abhijeet and others were laughing. Kapil was feeling great sooth in his heart to see him laughing so purely..

Kartik (in pleading tone):Aaah sir chodiye na please..Kapil smiled at his tone and left his ear..

Kapil sir (In fresh tone):Agar tum sabke naatak ho gaye ho to chale yaar..Everyone nodded in yes..and all of them sat in the car..and the journey started for the stadium..

In ACP sir's home :

Arpita (in concern): Kya hua ACP sahab aap jab se bureau se aaye hai kuch pareshaan lag rahe hai..ACP nodded in no arre batayie na kya hua hai..

ACP sir (In sad tone) : Arpita vo DIG sahab ne aaye the aaj aur kal humme cricket dikhane leke jana chate hai..Arpita got shocked..

Arpita (In shocking tone): aapko mana kardena chaiye tha na ACP sahab aapko pata hai na teen saal se hum cricket nahi dekhte hai kyunki hume..

ACP sir (Interrupted her firmly):tum to aise bol rahi ho jaise maine unko mana nahi kiya hoga (in teary tone) aur mujhe nahi aati kya uski yaad tum to aise bol rahi ho aur vaise bhi unhone mujhe kaise bola hai aane ke liye yeh mai hi jaanta hun pucha thodi hai dhamki di hai..

Arpita (In heavy tone): ACP sahab thodi der ke liye chalenge aur vaise bhi bhaii ne to humse teen saal se pyar se baat tak nhi ki jab bhi humare samne aate the saaf gussa dikhta hai unka aur karenge bhi kyu unke ladle Abhijeet se related baat jo thi..ACP nodded at her lightly..

At Wankhede Stadium Mumbai :

Indian Team entered inside the stadium for practice for tomorrow's match whereas some people were smirking at them..few people came near them..

Person (smirking): Hello Kapil Mia iss baar harenge ya jeetenge humse..

Another person : Sir aap bhi na kya baat kar rahe hai yeh log humse kaise jeet sakte hai..and all of them started laughing at them..

Indian team clenched their fists in anger but Abhijeet was looking at them calmly..

Kapil sir (In stern tone): Ahmed Khan (Pakistan's head coach) vo to vakt hi batayega agar aap log practice nahi karenge to zaroor haar jayenge humse..to jayie apna kaam kijiye aur humara time barbaad mat kijiye..

Another person (smiling at them):Haan sir rehne dijiye inko apne bachhe captain ko train karne dijiye..

Ahmed Khan : Haan Sayeed tumne theek kaha varna inka captain humare bowlers ki ek hi bouncer se dher ho jayega..all of them laughed at Abhijeet..aur phir rota hua dug out vaapas jayega (Imitating) Aah! sir lagi mujhe..

Pakistan's team laughed at them loudly..Indian team clenched their fists in anger Kapil and Kartik was going to confront them in extreme anger but Abhijeet held their hands and nodded in no..

Abhijeet (whispered to them):Sir bhaii rehne dijiye na match mein dekh lenge aur vaise bhi bhai after all actions speak better than words..both nodded at him unwillingly..

Ahmed Khan : Aap log na apne bachhe captain se sikh lo aap logo se zyada samjhdar hai all of them laughed loudly and they went from laughing at them..

Kartik (In extreme anger): Mai bata raha hun Abhii agar tune aaj mujhe roka nahi hota na inke sar phod ke aata mai..

Abhijeet (shook his head disappointedly): Haan to bhaii kal koi aur bolega aap jaa kar uska bhi sar phod aana bhaii aap na shant raho aap kyu apna BP bada rahe ho...Kapil chuckled at it and Kartik frowned at it immediately..

Kartik(in stern tone) : Dekh Abhii..Abhijeet smiled at him cutely seeing which a smile erupted on Kartik's face too..

Kapil sir : Achha bhai chalo ab practice karle nahi to unki baate sach hi na ho jaye all smiled and nodded..

Abhijeet and Tanish went for batting and Tushar and Aayan were bowling at them respectively rest of them were doing catching practice..After one hour Kartik and Vaibhav were batting and Abhijeet and Aaryan were bowling at them..after practicing for more than 3 hours..

Kapil sir : Chalo guys chalte hai..hotel vapas..all of them nodded at him Abhijeet was talking with Vaibhav and was little far away from them..

Tanish (in buttering tone): Sir aap kitne achhe ho na aap na raat tak bass iss Abhijeet ko busy rakhna..Kapil was looking at him with a shocked face..

Kartik : Dekho yaar maine phele bhi kaha tha aur ab bhi keh raha hun vo gussa ho jayega..Kapil looked at him..

Kapil sir : Arre Kartik kuch nahi hoga main hun na mana lunga usko..Kartik looked at him and just nodded..achha chalo sab log chale..all of them sat in the car and journey started..After around half an hour they reached their hotel..

In Taj Mahal Palace :

Whole team entered the hotel..

Kapil Sir : Dekho Abhii Indian team ke selectors milne aa rahe aaj aur tumhe mere sath rukna hoga kyunki tum captain ho na..

Abhijeet : Kab aane wale hain sir ?..

Kapil sir (pov): Arre yaar yeh kitne sawal puch raha hai (loudly) aate hi honge beta kisi vakt mujhe exact nahi pata bola ki captain ko bula ke rakhna..Abhijeet though not satisfied nodded at him..chalo mere room mein chalte hai tab tak..Abhijeet nodded at him casually..and started walking to his room..(to team) dekho tum logo ko jo karna hai karlo mere baare mein bhi sochna thike isko sambhalna mushkil hai..whole team was hiding their smile with extreme difficulty while Kapil went from their shooting a glare to them…

Tanish : Yaar karlo bahar nahi to sir humme bahut dantege..all of them nodded at him and went for preparation..

In Kapil sir's room:

Both Abhijeet and Kapil entered inside the room and sat on bed..and they were watching videos of the previous India Vs Pakistan matches to know the weak points of their opponents..

Abhijeet : Sir hum isko Yorker daal sakte hai kyunki yeh bahut aage badh ke maarta hai na to isko maarne ka mauka hi nahi milega pairo pe daalenge ek dum aur ek do ke baad wicket pe daalenge aur bold ho jayega..Kapil smiled at him and patted his back proudly..

Kapil sir : Aur dekho kal jab tum batting karne jaoge na yeh log sabse phele isko lagayenge (pointing towards the bowler) yeh aate hi tumhe bouncer marega taki tum vahin dar jao to aur dusri bhi yehi dalega upper cut maar dena pheli ball pe hi taki yeh soch mein padh jaye..hmm..Abhijeet nodded at him affirmatively..

Abhijeet : Aur sir humne Sayed ka to soch liya tha kaise out karna hai iss Akmal ko bhi to karna padega he also has equal potential to take the match away from us…

Kapil sir : To tumhare pass koi plan hai dekh ke lagta hai phele se hi iss (pointing towards his head) dimag mein koi idea soch ke rakha hai..Abhijeet smiled at him sheepishly..Kapil smiled at his antics and ruffled his hair lovingly..

Abhijeet (in a bit excited tone): Sir kal na hum iske aane pe na test match vali field lagayenge aur aata bhi jaldi hi hai third down to ball new rahegi swing hogi to hum na slips mein laga denge players aur gully bhi taki jaise hi edge lage aur catch ho jaye..

Kapil sir (smiled at his idea): Achha aur na iske samne bowling Vaibhav ko dena kaafi baar out kiya hai usne Abhijeet nodded at him..

Other side (Team's side):

Vaibhav was blowing up balloons..and everyone was nodding their heads in disappointment as he was bursting more balloons than blowing them..

Tanish (in disappointed tone): Kya kar raha hai yaar tujhe balloons fulane tak nahi aate..

Vaibhav (thoughtfully looking at burst balloons): yaar isme meri kya galti hai uss shopkeeper ki galti hai ki usne itne kachhe balloons diye hai…

Kartik : Balloons mein koi galti nahi hai tu jaa yahan se bakiyon ki decoration mein madad kar yeh sab hum karlenge..Vaibhav casually shrugged..vaise bhi 8 bajne vale hain and went from their giving them a look like " Not my fault"..

In Kapil sir's room:

Abhijeet (glancing at the watch): Sir yeh selectors aane bhi vale hai ya nahi 8 baj rahe hai already yeh kya raat ke 12 baje aakar mujhse baat karenge..Kapil laughed at him lightly…

Kapil sir : Unhone bas mujhe message kiya hai ki hum aa rahe hai ab mai bhi kya hi kar sakta hun tum match dekho na tab tak..Abhijeet was still looking at him suspiciously..chaye to message padhlo..

Abhijeet (agreeing): Haan sir layie dikhayie..Kapil was looking at him with a shocking face..

Kapil sir (dramatically): Mujh pe to kisi ko yakeen hi nahi hai lo bhai tum bhi mat karo taking out the phone from his pocket..

Abhijeet(making a face) : Rehne dijiye sir...Kapil smiled at him broadly Abhijeet murmured "nautanki karna bhi koi inse sikhe"...

Kapil sir (pov): Bach gaya bhai nahi to aaj yeh tujhe chodta nahi..both were engrossed in watching the match..after half an hour more he saw Abhijeet sleeping lying on bed..Kapil smiled a bit (sighing) chalo achha hua so gaya nahi to iss detective se mujhe aaj koi nahi bacha sakta tha..

He smiled and kissed his head lovingly..he was also waiting for the clock to strike 12 soon it was 11:50 the whole team entered inside and chuckled seeing them sleeping..Kartik went near Kapil and woke him up..

Kapil sir(waking up with a jerk) : Kya hua hogaya sab kuch all of them nodded at him..chalo achha hai uthao isko..

Kartik went near him with a mischievous smile on his face and he took a balloon and burst it near his ear..Abhijeet fell down from bed..As it was already 12 they started singing Happy Birthday song for him..Listening this Abhijeet's eyes become teary he was going to rush out from the room but Kapil held his hand tightly and made him sit on the chair..

Kapil sir (lovingly): Beta mujhe samajh aa raha hai ki tumhe apna janamdin manana kyun pasand nahi hai par beta yeh dekho in sab ki taraf kitne man se yeh log tumhare liye kar rahe the..all of them looking at his face with concern and love in their eyes..aur tum aise karoge to in sabko bura lagega na aur dekho beta tum kab tak vahan pe atke rahoge aage badhna hoga na tumhe..Abhijeet nodded at him lightly..tumhe pata nahi hai beta yeh log kitne din se tayariyan kar rahe the yeh to yeh kehte nahi thak rahe the ki aaj Abhijeet ka birthday hai aur hum usse kitna badiya surprise denge..Abhijeet looked at all of them for few moments..

Abhijeet (in fresh tone): Layie mere gifts kahan hai jaldi..All of them were looking at them surprisingly..and smiled broadly..

Tanish (in excitement):Phele bhai sahab apni aankhe band kar rehen de Kartik patti band de cheating karega yeh..Kartik chuckled at him and did as asked..all of them took him to the lounge area where the surprise is waiting for them..

Abhijeet (in excitement): Bhaii ab khol lu kitni der aur All of them laughed at his cute excitement..they slowly removed cloth from his eyes and he was just spellbound to see decoration for him..as they have selected cricket theme for his birthday whole lounge was beautifully converted like a stadium and everywhere there were statues of his favourite "Sachin Tendulkar"...and on walls there was a banner on which it was written "HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUNGEST CAPTAIN" with his picture..Lounge was having everything ball shaped balloons and bats were also there..and most importantly cake was in the shape of World Cup Trophy..he smiled really broadly seeing the decorations and he immediately hugged Kapil with "Thank you"..

Kartik (dramatically): Lo bhai idea humara tha aur hug sir ko huh..both separated from hug and chuckled at him...he immediately went and hugged Kartik too with a smile on his face..Kapil was really happy seeing him smiling so broadly..
